Why Did You Leave
Why did you do it, sis? What did we do to make you leave? Could we have stopped you? I guess not. We begged and pleaded with you to stay. What did you do, you mocked us.
"Oh, so now you want me to stay. Well that's too bad. You can cry, grovel, beg until you're blue in the face. It won't change anything. I'm leaving, and never coming back. See ya, suckers." You killed us that day. It's hard to believe that you were really what held the family together. Now, I'm sitting across from you like in the old days. Watching you work. Work for good. How long has it been since we did this? You for once not being a smart- mouth. Me not being self-centered. You always were smart. Smarter than anyone has ever given you credit for. You always were the brains of the group. Also most of the bran.
"Why did you leave Shelia? Don't give me that crap about hating us. The fact that you here, helping us track Striker is proof that it isn't true. So why?" A purple haired man named Matt asked his older sibling Shelia from across the kitchen table.
At his words Shelia's (a.k.a. Shego) head snapped up so fast she could have gotten whiplash. As emerald eyes bore into lavender she sighed.
"I needed freedom. From everything. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. Now drop it Matt." She said with a tone sharp enough to split wood.
"No, I'm not dropping it. I let you walk away seven years ago without knowing why. Not this time. Tell me what you had to escape, so badly that you abandoned your family." Matt (a.k.a. Mego) screamed. I'll make her tell me. I want to, need to know.
"I said drop it. Do not make me repeat myself." Shelia said slowly and calmly. He can be so annoying sometimes. At least he isn't being self-centered. Small blessings. She snapped out of her thoughts when he started to argue back. She stopped him by putting up a gloved hand. He isn't going to stop until I give him an answer.
"Fine, you want the honest truth. Well here it is. I left because I don't like playing the hero anymore." She said looking him dead in the eyes. Daring him to do anything except drop the subject. That should shut him up. Unfortunately for her, she thought wrong.
"Then why are you helping me now?" He asked with a cocky smirk. That got her.
"I said 'I don't like playing the hero anymore', I never said I couldn't. Now let's get back to work" She said matter-of-factly. He thought he had me. Not hardly.
Doing what Shelia suggested, they did get back to work. Striker was captured, and everything returned to normal.
THE END
