Ororo cuddled up in a ball and sobbed. Outside, the sky turned a dark grey, as storm clouds gathered. Inside the room Scott and Jean once shared, Jean looked up from the pile of homework that she had been grading and sighed. Ever since Charles and Scott died and she returned, this had happened for almost every night. Jean pushed herself away from the desk and went up to Ororo's room. She knocked on the door.

"Ororo?"

Ororo hurriedly wiped the tears away from her face and stood up, not wanting Jean to see her tears fall.

"Ro?" Jean's voice came again. Checking that her appearance was okay, Ororo opened the door.

"What do you want, Jean?" She asked coldly.

Jean flinched at her sharp tone.

"I'm… sorry. I'll just go…" Jean stammered and rushed out of the room, wiping the tears that had appeared when Ororo spoke to her.

Ororo stood still in the room, alone. She could not believe what she had done. Well maybe a little.

Jean rushed out of Ororo's room and down the stairs to her own room, trying to contain the tears that were threatening to spill over. She rushed into her room and slammed the door behind her, locking it telepathically.

The loud bang echoed off the walls of the mansion. Because it was a holiday and most of the students are back home with their families, Ororo could hear the slam of the door very clearly. Ororo slid down onto the floor, shoulders shaking slightly. She could not believe that she did this to the person she considered her sister. Finally gathering her courage, she walked slowly to Jean's room, hoping to salvage what was left of their once strong friendship.

Ororo knocked softly on the door.

"Jean?" she asked softly.

"What do you want now, Ororo? Coming here to yell at me again?" Jean called out from inside the room.

Ororo opened the door, only to see Jean curled into a ball. Ororo kneeled down next to Jean.

"Jean?" She asked again.

"Go AWAY!" Jean half yelled.

"I'm sorry, Jean. So sorry" Ororo whispered, before leaving the room. Outside, storm clouds gathered once more.

Ororo rushed into a bathroom, and collapsed onto the ground, feeling guilty for what she had done. True, the phoenix might have killed Scott and the Professor, but Jean had no control over what happened.

Ororo went back to Jean's room, where jean was staring out at the sky.

"It's a perfect night for flying," Ororo said softly.

Jean started when she heard Ororo's soft voice.

"Yes, it is." She answered shortly, not noticing how Ororo's face fell.

"Do you want to go out flying with me?" Ororo asked Jean quietly.

Jean nodded her assent.

Ororo grabbed Jean's hand, and summoned the winds to float her up. The winds speed up a little, and soon, they are both flying. After a while, the winds stopped, leaving Ororo and Jean suspended in midair.

"Well?" Jean asked, arching an eyebrow.

Ororo sighed and fidgeted with her hands.

"Iamsorry." Ororo said quickly, not looking up at Jean.

"What?" Jean asked, not catching what Ororo said a moment ago.

"I'm sorry" Ororo replied, still not looking at Jean.

"Its alright, you know." Jean replied.

"I'm still sorry for what I did…. I shouldn't have…"

Jean interrupted her.

"Are we still friends?" She asked.

"No…" Ororo smirked slightly as Jean's face fell.

"We are sisters remember?"

Jean laughed with joy and the two sisters hugged, under the moonlight, still floating on air. At that moment, Jean felt truly at peace with herself.
