I woke with a start, something was in my room. The wardrobe doors opened and it came out of my wardrobe and jumped at me. He started licking my face and I suddenly remembered why I didn't stay with my cousin James anymore. The big black dog that was currently licking my face was the least of my worries this week. His new friends, Sirius, Remus and peter were always over, it was fourth year summer break, and my parents had jetted off to Paris last minute and left me with the potters. I would usually be fine with it but this time I just couldn't hack it, his friend Sirius just would not leave me alone. I mean I know I see them at school but they all leave me alone there. So far this week they had put dog poo in my favourite shoes, then aunt Dorthea made Sirius clean it up, then they exploded my toilet, good thing I wasn't in there at the time, I was in the library, then they thought it would be funny to put veritaserum in my pumpkin juice so I spilled my deepest secrets, but before I could say something super embarrassing Remus gave me the antidote. Now there was this big black dog lying on the floor at the end of my bed. I crawled to the end of my bed and peered over to see not the dog on the floor but Sirius. I was furious.
"SIRIUS BLACK! I SWEAR TO GOD BY THE END OF THIS BREAK IM GONNA BREAK YOUR FUCKING NECK!" I screamed as I tried to get out of my bed, only to get wrapped up in my covers and face planting the floor. I could hear Sirius' bark like laugh as he booked it out of my room and down the hall. I untangled myself from the wretched covers and followed Sirius out my door; I found him hiding behind Remus in the lounge room.
"Don't let her get me moony, please shell rip my head off" he cowered behind Remus; I could see Remus' shoulders start shaking as he tried to contain his laughter. I growled at Sirius and stomped my way up to my room, I passed the mirror in the hall and suddenly realised why Remus was laughing. I was a mess, my bright red hair was sticking up in all sorts of directions and yesterday's eyeliner and mascara had smudged on my cheeks, if I was someone else I would have been laughing too. I booked it into my room and to the bathroom to have a quick shower. As I came out of my adjoining bathroom I tripped on one of my many shoes and came tumbling down onto the soft plush rug. I laid there for a bit just looking up at the ceiling liking the silence, it wasn't long before I heard James' stereo blasting 'barbie girl'. I laughed out loud before getting up and getting dressed. Today we were going to Diagon Ally to get our school supplies, out letters came yesterday; which Sirius so kindly made mine swim in the lake outside in the potter's backyard. When I walked downstairs for breakfast I could hear Sirius and James talking loudly, I silently cheered and raced down towards the dining room. When I got there only Remus and peter were there; peter as usual was stuffing his face, I made a face at him and sat down across from Remus as far from peter as I could. Remus nodded to me;
"Good morning, Luna how was your wakeup call?" his eyes darted towards the stairs. I groaned and my head fell into my arms.
"Horrible, who let him in anyway?" I lifted my head to look at peter who looked at me with an innocent face and bacon hanging out of his mouth. I screwed up my face and faced Remus again. "Ready to go to flourish and blots today?' I asked him as I filled my plate with pancakes and bacon.
