AN: This one was inspired by XV-Dragon's birthday. (Which is today if I time this right.)

It was the end of a really bad day at school for Will. Everything that could go wrong had gone wrong. She had had an argument with her mum about the state of her room, her dad had called to cancel seeing her today (apparently something had come up at work) most of her friends and fellow guardians were suffering from a particularly vicious stomach bug that was sweeping through the halls of the Sheffield Institute, her lab partner had managed to drop some heavy weights on her foot, leaving her limping through the rest of the day, she didn't understand her latest math homework, Uriah Dunn had managed to hit her on the back of the head with a hard soccer ball and to top it off, her bag strap had broken. So, all in all, it was a really bad day for Will Vandom.

"Hey Will!" a familiar voice called out to her. "Do you need a hand with that?"

Will turned and groaned. She really didn't need to see Cornelia's ex-boyfriend and subject of her own secret crush. It was hard enough to think properly around him at all lately and hiding her feelings from him was exhausting. She really didn't need to deal with this now.

"Hey Caleb!" she replied brightly, trying to sound brighter than she felt. "I think I'll be okay." This statement was abruptly undermined when she dropped her bag and all of its contents all over the hard concrete, smashing her protractor on the ground under the weight of her books. She looked down with a glare and threw her hands up in sheer despair. This was fast turning out to be a VERY bad day.

"Yeah, you look like you have it under control," Caleb said with a touch of sarcasm. "Let me help you with that."

He bent over to pick up her bag just as Will bent down to pick up her bag. The resulting crash of heads was probably predictable and probably avoidable and in keeping with the rest of Will's day so far, she took the worst of it and fell on her backside.

"Will, are you okay?" Caleb asked with concern. "Have you hurt yourself?"

"Just my head. And my butt. I'm sure they're nothing important," she joked before suddenly noticing that Caleb's face was very close to hers. Really, he was almost in kissing distance. All she had to do was move her face forward a little bit…

What happened next was entirely spontaneous and completely unexpected by both parties. A moment of mutual chemistry between them that needed no words. Will leaned forward and so did Caleb to kiss one another firmly on the lips. And not some chaste kiss, but a passionate kiss, one filled with emotion and desire and longing.

"Well umm…" Will began as they finally broke apart, breathless and flushed.

"Err…well…" Caleb said at the same time, clearly lost for words. "Gotta go, I said that I'd…"

"Yeah, I'd better…" Will continued in a dazed tone, before Caleb quickly dashed away, leaving Will with a smile on her face. Today had suddenly become a very good day.
