Hey! Here's a short one-shot that I wrote. Hope you all read it, but I especially dedicate this story to the wonderful Creddiers who have been persevering through a time when it seems like their ship is sinking.
My first Creddie fic.
disclaimer: I don't, and never will, own iCarly.
The Lucky Penny
It was a beautiful day. Her brother was out with his friend, and his mother was visiting family. He was at her house, and they had nothing to do, so they decided to take a walk to the park.
The sun shone brightly, but it was still chilly. They walked down the street, along the sidewalks. He spotted something shiny on the ground and excitedly picked it up. She laughed as he put the penny into his pocket. They continued to walk against the wind, which blew her long, beautiful brown hair back. He couldn't help but gaze at her longingly.
They passed the busy streets, with people running in and out of stores, cars honking, and pedestrians like themselves crossing streets in the traffic. After passing the hubbub of the busy streets, they soon approached the park.
The park was a placid, tranquil place. Not many were there that day. They watched as squirrels busily scurried up and down trees, and bees flew from flower to flower transferring pollen. They listened as birds sang, crickets chirped, and the leaves of trees rustled in the wind.
The wind blew strongly, and she shivered. In a quick, fluid motion, he took off his coat and gave it to her. As she put it on, he wrapped his arms around her.
They continued to walk along the path. Butterflies fluttered by. Grasses danced in the wind, and flowers bent forward and backward. They soon stopped in their tracks. They had reached the center of the park, where a fountain of a mermaid spewing water out of her mouth stood. In the water, there were pennies from past visitors who had made wishes. He reached into his pocket and took out the penny. He held it out to give to her, motioning for her to make a wish and throw the penny in. She shook her head and insisted that he do it. He closed his eyes, made a wish, and tossed the penny into the water, creating tiny ripples that gradually enlarged until they were engulfed by the rest of the water.
She smiled as they sat down together by the fountain. She lay her head against his shoulder, and he knew. He leaned over and gently kissed her cheek. They slowly turned to examine their reflections in the water.
Perfection.
I'm not great at descriptive language, but I tried my best. Let me know what you thought. Thanks for reading :)
