A little fic about a reminiscing teenage Narcissa about her two older sisters. I always thought that Andromeda would have started off as a perfect Slytherin, like Bellatrix, at least until she fell in love.
I don't own Harry potter, JK Rowling does. Sigh.
Narcissa watched jealously as her two older sisters sat, chatting and laughing by the fire. Surrounding Andromeda and Bellatrix were a crowd of only the very Elite Slytherins, all whom even mother would approve of. While she, Narcissa, was left to wallow in her sister's shadows. Her sisters even looked similar with the black family dark hair, eyes and sharp features while she was just a small blonde. Sure, mother approved of her looks but she knew father didn't'. Father never liked her like he did her sisters. Her perfect sisters.
Bella threw back her head and laughed at something Andy had said and the others laughed too. If she really strained her ears she could catch the words "mudblood" and "Dark lord." Narcissa had little doubt that her sisters would join the Dark lord and so would their friends. After all, why wouldn't the Dark lord want them? Bella was everything he could ask for, beautiful, reckless and ruthless while Andy was sharp as a knife and stone cold brilliant. Everything she wasn't.
Bella was in her seventh year and engaged to Rodulphus Lestrange, a Pureblood who both her parents actually agreed on for once and who she was almost certain had already joined the Dark lord and would no doubt introduce her sisters to him. Andy was in her fifth year and her mother was looking at Rabastan Lestrange for her, while father had someone else in mind that he had not yet revealed but Narcissa would bet her new goblin made gold and diamond necklace that it was Avery. She was only in her second year; still having to claim her authority over the other Slytherins just like Andy and Bella had gone. Except she wasn't like them, sure she wanted things to continue, for Purebloods to rule supreme, but she didn't want to lead. She was quite content to watch. All she wanted was her handsome prince and beautiful blonde haired children. A happy ending no less.
Andy had teased her that she'd end up marrying Lucius Malfoy. While it could be worse Narcissa could not imagine marrying the obnoxious Malfoy heir whom seemed to believe he could order everyone around, even a Black. No, he wouldn't do. He simply wasn't prince material. But she'd get what she wanted, just like she always did. Bella and Andy would join the Dark lord and marry Pureblood husbands just as they should and their parents would be so proud. And she, well she would sit back and do what she did best. Watch.
