He's at it again, mused Tasuki as he watched his friend sneak stealthily across the hallway to his room, how many times is gonna do this? Shaking his head with a sigh, Tasuki followed him ever so quietly, stopping at the doorway so that he could watch his friend stop before a small picture of him and the priestess.
He stared at the magnificent green eyes that glittered with happiness as she clung to the bandit seishi; one hand ruffling his unruly mop of fire while the other formed the victory sign. She seemed to be youth incarnate, her whole demeanour practically bursting with energy. Koji looked around the room to check for anyone watching and picked up the small slip of paper, his feet crossed on the floor as he stared once more at the girl.
Memories of when he first met her began to spin through his mind, making him bow his head in shame from the abysmal treatment she received. "An' ta think she fergave us so easily," he sighed, tracing his thumb over her face once before placing the picture back where he found it, " it jus goes ta show that not every one 'r as fickle as some." He looked at the picture, his eyes resting once more on the priestess, "but damn me ta kutou if she weren't the most beautiful lil spitfire I ever had the pleasure ta meet."
Tasuki smirked slightly as he watched his friend walk slowly out the room. "Somethin ya wanna tell me Koji ol' pal?" he asked slyly, making his friend stop dead, his back turned. "I don't know what ya mean?" he replied nonchalantly, praying that the redhead wouldn't pry any further. Tasuki smirked even more and circled around his friend, poking a finger into his chest, "I think ya do," he laughed, "ya've got a thing fer Miaka ain't cha?"
Koji stopped dead, fighting to keep the colour from his face, "what'cha talking 'bout?" he growled, his fingers crossed that his face would stay normal and not give him away, "I ain't got a thing fer anyone? I hardly even know her!" Tasuki stepped to the side, slinging an arm over his shoulder, not really listening to his denial. "Ah, it ain't like yer the only one, heck, half the seishi fell fer her, myself included," he stopped and looked away, his face thoughtful, "in fact, I've got the feelin' that even Chichiri had a thing fer her, I'll have ta ask him when he comes her next, what do you think ko…" he stopped, looking around for his missing friend, "now where'd he go?"
That nosey ass! Thought Koji as he settled on the highest branch he could find, it ain't like its any of his business if I like the miko or not. Rubbing his face, he turned to look at the setting sun, admiring how the darkening red of the autumn leaves seemed to shine the same shade of auburn as her hair. Maybe, he thought sadly, hanging his head, jus maybe…he's right.
