Daisy was scared. Ryan had been acing very distant lately. Was he cheating on her? Did she do something wrong with the relationship?
"Daisy!" Mrs. Giordano called, snapping Daisy out of her fog. "Chief Mendez needs your help with a case."
"I can't right now mom," Daisy responded. "I have to figure some things out with Ryan." Daisy was already getting dressed. She had to decided to go solve the problems she was having with Ryan. She would help with the case later.
"Okay." Mrs. Giordano responded hesitantly. "But make it quick."
Daisy left the house, pocketing the knife she'd grabbed just in case, deciding on her way out to walk to Ryan's house. She needed some extra time to sort out her thoughts. She didn't know if she wanted to end things with Ryan or not. She would just have to wait and see how things went.
When Daisy arrived at Ryan's house, she saw that the door was ajar. She could hear slight groaning in the house, and it sounded like there was more than one person inside. Daisy's blood began to boil. She knew Ryan had been cheating on her!
Daisy stormed into the house. "Ryan!" she yelled. "How could you-"she stopped when she registered what was in front of her. Ryan. On the floor. Covered in blood. Holding his shoulder…that was bloody.
What's happening? Daisy thought, becoming terrified. Then she saw a person stepping out of the shadows. He looked like a vampire. He was about 6 feet tall, maybe taller, with blue eyes, and gelled back black hair. His mouth was covered in blood.
"Well, well, well." The vampire said. "Look who we have here. A love struck teenager too consumed with her love for her boyfriend than following up a lead for a case. If only Ms. Daisy had listened to her mother. Then not so many people would be dead right now."
"What d-d-do you m-m-mean?" Daisy stuttered, fear overtaking her body. Not Ryan. Ryan couldn't be dead!
"Your mother surely did taste…intoxicating." the vampire went on, ignoring Daisy.
Her mother! Daisy felt relief course through her body. Ryan was okay, then. She just had to finish off this vampire.
"Silly human. You don't even care. Your. Mother. Is. Dead. Are you so consumed with 'love' that you don't even care about your own mother?"
Daisy pulled out the knife she'd had in her back pocket and took a defensive stance. She'd do whatever she had to; she was going to save Ryan.
"You are no match for me!" the vampire roared, coming towards Daisy with lightning speed. Then she felt a terrible ache in her shoulder, seemingly the same place as where Ryan had been bleeding. She fell to the floor, hard, and landed right next to Ryan. She looked at Ryan as she felt her life draining away. His eyes held a deep sadness. They seemed to be losing their light as well.
As least I'll die with the man I love, Daisy thought as the world faded to black.
