Written for Diving at Hogwarts. Prompt: Write about a funeral.
Wc: 114
Tom Marvolo Riddle's funeral is not attended by many people. A simple black box in the center-front of the room contains his ashes. This way, his image at his death is not preserved, nor is the image of his youth.
A shallow stream of mourners trickles in, mostly Muggles who want to be nice and pop by into a stranger's wedding.
Harry Potter stands before the box wearing a glamor. His forehead crinkles as he thinks about the great Dark Lord, reduced to a black box, and he smiles grimly.
The obituary is not long. Tom Marvolo Riddle, dead at an unknown age, with no family to survive him. May he rest in piece.
