Poison
After John was discharged from the army, he was sent to see a therapist to help him get used to civilian life.
Not even one week later, he had killed a man. He could see why Sherlock told him to ditch his therapist.
Standing outside of the police line and feigning interest in anything but the crime scene, he felt his heart hammering as Sherlock began to rattle of his deductions regarding the mystery shooter. He nearly sighed in relief when Sherlock finally realised just who he was describing and caught himself in time.
They excused themselves from Lestrade and walked towards the main road in hopes of catching a cab home.
"It wasn't a poison." There was no need for you to kill for my sake.
"And I take it you're certain about that?" I couldn't take the chance.
"I'm not an idiot, John." I wanted to prove to him that I'm right.
"I don't want to have to find a new roommate." But what if you weren't? Where would that leave me then?
"I'm sure Hades would've kicked me out of Hell and sent me back here to terrorise humans instead." I'm not going to leave you. I don't want you to feel guilty for my sake.
John smiled. "He was a bad cabbie anyway."
Sherlock only smiled back.
