Mage Tales: Siobhan Hawke

Author's Note: I do not own Dragon Age, just my character. Something I got in my head while playing connection to my other story "Second Chances". In this story the Landsmeet is after the battle.

Siobhan Hawke had seen a lot of deaths over the years, given the fact that she and her companions had carried out a large amount of those fatalities. It was not her choice, as she always sought out a peaceful solution. It just seemed those they faced preferred fighting. When she first came to Kirkwall with her mother and brother she was so serious-minded. She felt that was the only way to remain sane and not give into hate during her year as an assassin for Meeran. It wasn't her choice to be a hired killer; it was thrust upon her thanks to her uncle's gambling habit which lost them their nobility status as well as family mansion. Much to her surprise she excelled at killing her targets to the point she had become in demand as no one came close to her kill ratio. It seemed to also give her brother one more reason to dislike her, as he also had to serve a year as an assassin. Even though he trained as a warrior, he had no niche when it came to assassinating people, so he was Meeran's clean-up guy for after a kill was completed. He disposed of the bodies.

Siobhan like her deceased sister and father were mages, while her brother Carver and mother had no magical ability. Her aunt did and passed it on to her daughter Solona, who was once a Ferelden Circle mage, now Grey Warden. Siobhan and Carver's year was coming to a close, as well as the Ferelden Blight. She found out from Corff, the Hanged Man bartender, who seemed to know all the news of Ferelden and Kirkwall. Her cousin had led an army made up of unlikely allies and won the Blight by slaying the Archdemon. Solona made the fatal blow herself and survived with hardly a scratch. Corff also told her that warden Alistair, was revealed to be King Maric's son, renounced all rights to the throne to the stunned crowd at the Landsmeet specially Arl Eamon and Solona herself. Alistair had found out Eamon was threatening Solona. Apparently the arl warned Solona that either she ended her relationship and pressure him to accept being king or he would use his power to make sure she was made tranquil.

The revelation made Siobhan furious that he was frightening her cousin in that way. After recovering her self-control, she asked Corff to continue. Alistair pledged his full support behind Anora and her 's father Teryn Loghain opposed even his daughter ruling, Loghain challenged Solona to a duel, which Alistair stepped forward as Solona's champion. He battled the teryn that ended with Loghain's death as he refused to surrender. Although bloody and tired he and Eamon had a heated conversation. He asked Solona to join him talking to her quietly and then getting down on one knee and asking her to become his wife. She accepted once she was assured by Alistair and the Reverend Mother that it was permitted for them too. Anora then announced that there would be a triple celebration the defeat of the Blight, her coronation, and the marriage of Alistair and Solona. Siobhan thanked Corff for the news paid for her ale and rented a room as she was growing tired of hearing Carver complain how everything that was wrong in his life was somehow her fault. She made her way up stairs unaware she was watched from the moment she entered the Hanged Man by a dwarf.
