Author's note: This story is dedicated to the tragic event that happened and to all the families that suffered. I felt I needed to at least do something for 9/11 so here it is. Hope you all enjoy and please R&R.
Disclaimer: I do not own power rangers… for now. Lol. And I never will. Now, on with the story.
Disaster Strikes
The morning was lighten up with the sun shining and the birds chirping across the sky as they flew. Unlike in the scary movies, the cemetery looked quite peaceful and nice. The tombstones all aligned in an order.
On this particular day, many people would come to it though. To honor their families and still wish they were there with them. Among them, were the twin sisters, Madison and Vida Rocca.
On that fateful day, 9/11/01, their parents were the some of the unlucky people that lost their lives during that event. Now they live with their grandparents here in Briarwood since they had no more family in NY. They were close with their parents, until that day. Both of their parents worked at the World Trade Center and didn't get to make it out of the building when disaster struck the tower.
Now here they are, six years later, at their parents' tombstones. Vida had asked for them to be buried there so they would be close to them.
Madison kneeled down next to her mother's tomb and set down her favorite kind of flowers, purple lilies. She stayed there for a bit and thought about everything.
"I really miss you mom. You don't know how hard it is, all the time. Having to wake up, and know you're not here anymore. But I know you're in a better place." She kissed her fingertips then touched the stone.
Meanwhile, Vida was over at her dad's stone, which was next to where her mom's was, saying almost the same thing.
"Dad" she began and took a deep breath trying not to cry. Maddie cried on the way there and Vida tried not to break down also. "I'm trying not to break down and be strong for Maddie, but dad, I can't." Once she finished, she broke down crying.
Suddenly she felt a pair of arms around her and immediately knew it was Maddie. She turned and hugged her back tightly. Maddie was also crying but softly and silently. She started stroking Vida's hair and trying to calm her down.
"Shh. Sis, it's ok. It's ok. I'm here." She said while still crying, calming down a bit. Vida sniffled and tried to take a deep breath to also calm down. "I know sis. It's just hard." Maddie nodded in agreement.
After about 10 more minutes of crying and 10 more minutes of just being around their parents tombs, Vida and Madison finally left the cemetery and headed back to work where their friends were waiting for them to comfort them in their time of hurt.
The End
I hope you all enjoyed it. Like I said please R&R. I made this to honor the 9/11 tragedy.
