For the OTP boot camp – prompt used: overwhelmed (overwhelmingly)
For the ultimate drabble comp – CharlieDraco with the prompt: alone
.
Charlie wakes up to a warm body against his back. He isn't used to sharing his bed with anyone, and it's the first time that he's done so since he was a child. And the fact that the person in his bed is still there makes him overwhelmingly happy.
Draco's never stayed the night before and it took a while for Charlie to convince him to. But Charlie has to admit that he wouldn't have been surprised if he woke up alone. Because Charlie knows that staying the night is the beginning of a commitment, and Draco doesn't do commitments of any sorts.
"Good morning," Draco whispers. And Charlie doesn't know how Draco knows he's awake. It's just something that Charlie doesn't question anymore.
Charlie turns and grins at the blond. "Good morning indeed," he says. He brushes his lips against Draco's cheek before making his way to the bathroom. Once he returns, he sees Draco laying on his bed. But the unreadable mask that has overtaken his face has Charlie worried. Draco only masks his emotions when he's trying to break apart Charlie's word or actions.
Charlie sits on the bed and places his hand on Draco's cheek, forcing Draco to look at him. He gives him a curious stare because he knows that he doesn't have to voice his question for Draco to know what he's asking. "You were surprised I was still here," Draco answers. "Why?"
He meets Draco's gray eyes with his blues ones, and begins to explain. "It wasn't that I was surprised that you were here. It's that I wouldn't have been surprised if you weren't," he replies softly. He can tell by the glimmer in his eyes that Draco doesn't understand what he's trying to say, so Charlie tries again. "This," he starts, motioning in between them, "is the start of a commitment. This makes it real, makes it more than just some fling."
Understanding passes Draco's eyes, and Charlie knows the discussion is over. He presses a light kiss against Draco's lips before asking, "What do you want for breakfast?"
As Draco follows him to the kitchen to help with breakfast, Charlie hopes that it'll become a regular thing – Draco spending the night – because waking up next to him makes Charlie smile.
