Dad?
ONE-SHOT:

"Dad?"

"Yes, Kakashi-kun?" Sakumo answered and looked up from his Icha Icha Paradisu.

"Why do birds have wings?" he asked and tilted his head.

"So that they can fly," Sakumo answered, now reading again.

Kakashi sat there on the table and thought for a moment.

"Why do birds have to fly?" he asked.

"To get away from other animals," Sakumo said. "Or they'd get killed."

The four year old Hatake thought again.

"What about rabbits? Why don't they have wings?"

"They really fast instead," Sakumo said and sighed. He hated it when Kakashi was in his I-wanna-know-everything mode.

"But why can't snails be really fast or have wings? They get killed too."

"They are protected be their house," the older Hatake said.

Kakashi didn't talk for a while.

"Dad?" he asked then. "How come animals always go after the weakest?"

"It's easier."

"Then how do they prove who the strongest is?"

"Kakashi, please stop asking pointless questions," Sakumo said.

"Okay."

They sat in silence in the living room again. Then…

"Dad?"

"What?"

"Which questions are the pointless ones?"

A/N: Just a quick and cute story. I can picture Kakashi asking his father a lot since Sakumo was indeed a genius. And what kids don't think their parents know everything?

Hope you liked it as much I do myself.
