Patrick Clarke was in his room sleeping. He was a single father ever since his fiancée, Melody died giving birth to their daughter, Harper. He woke up after he heard her crying. He sighed and got up to go to the nursery where Harper was. Patrick picked her up and rocked her. Patrick tried his hardest to take care of his only 5-month-old daughter. Ever since Harper was born, Patrick had adored her. Harper Elizabeth Clarke.
"Hey, princess. Daddy's got you." Patrick sat down in the rocking chair. He had to go to work in the morning and put her in Holly Truman's daycare center. He was a retired solider and now he was a bartender. Harper was finally asleep after an hour of crying. Patrick didn't want to leave his baby daughter alone so he decided to take her to his room. He laid her on the bed and he fell asleep next to her holding her.
The next morning Patrick woke up and knew Harper was still sleeping. He got up and went downstairs putting Harper in the play pin. She woke up and started crying. Patrick turned around and picked up Harper.
"Shh...it's okay. Daddy's got you. I'm right here." Patrick put her in the high chair. "I'll be right back. I'm just gonna to make breakfast." He kissed her the top of her head. He made bacon and eggs like he usually does every morning. He started eating then after he finished he fed her.
He got dressed and grabbed his keys. He put Harper in the car and drove off to her daycare. When he got there, he was carrying Harper in his arms.
"Hey, Patrick." Holly said.
"Hi, Holly." Holly took Harper from him and she started crying which was odd because she usually loved daycare.
"What's wrong with Harper? She's usually not like this." she asked. Patrick shrugged and rubbed Harper's back.
"I'll be back soon. Don't worry." Patrick said. Holly handed Harper an Elmo doll. She grabbed it and stopped crying. Patrick kissed her and left to go to work.
