Claire was sorting through some junk in the house to sell at the yard sale when she came across her son's master remote to his giant robots. Thoughts ran through her head of her son destroying the city countless times on behalf of a girl's attention. All the trouble his schemes and robo-shenanigans have gotten him into...
This gave Claire an idea.
If I were to 'accidentally' sell the remote, the robots would wreak havoc...causing Tobey to go search for it...with Wordgirl, after she tries to stop the robots.
Claire smiled mischievously as a young boy with longish blonde hair came through the yard sale, quickly spotting Tobey's remote.
A half an hour later, after explaining that his master remote had been sold, Claire watched as Wordgirl showed up and inquired about the haywire robots.
Go get her, son.
After a long and weird day spent in the company of her rival, the mischievous Theodore 'Tobey' McCallister (the third), Wordgirl laid out on the couch in the library of the spaceship hideout to relax; turning on the television as she did so.
"Good day?" The narrator asked.
"Ugh." Wordgirl responded.
"Has it ever occurred to you that this whole day would never have happened if you'd have been his friend?" The narrator asked. Before Becky could respond, she thought about it. The thought not only silenced her and provoked thought, it also scared her to know that the narrator was right.
What scared her even more, however, was what he said next.
"Or that, had Huggy not been there to interrupt each time, you'd have had an even more enjoyable day with Tobey, and probably would've gotten closer with him?"
Becky didn't even know what to think about that.
"Oh, who asked you?" She responded, frustrated by the fact that he was right.
"You're only getting mad because I'm right." The narrator said. Becky was silent for a moment, not knowing how to respond to that. Instead, she grunted and headed for home.
It was a bright, sunny summer afternoon in Fair City, and a fifteen-year-old Becky was walking in the park with Tobey.
In recent years, Tobey had moved on from his destructive tendencies and had transformed into a friendly, gentle and kind individual. His change of personality had impressed Becky, and the two had become friends. Everyone was impressed with Tobey's transformation; everyone but Bob, that is. As a superhero sidekick, Bob wasn't quite convinced that Tobey had really changed. And he especially didn't like that he was getting so close to Becky. So, he walked behind them, arms folded and a frown decorating his face.
"Why are you so grumpy?" The narrator asked.
"Because of them!" Bob chirped angrily.
"What about them?"
"They're so…friendly! She shouldn't be falling for him like this! He's gonna turn around and stab her in the back and go back to the villain he is." Bob ranted.
"I seriously doubt that. The only reason he was a villain was to get Wordgirl's attention. Now that he's got it, I don't think he feels the need to be evil anymore." The narrator responded.
"Well, I don't believe it. And I don' trust him."
"Is it really because she's starting to spend more time with him than you, and you're not used to that?"
"No…don't be silly." Bob chirped quietly.
Well, to explain this little oneshot, these three little short oneshots, I got the ideas from the episode 'Have You Seen the Remote'. I watched it about a million times this weekend, and these thoughts were lingering in my head. So I wrote 'em down. The last one was only inspired by the episode, because I saw Huggy's disapproval and it gave me this idea…so yeah. But anyways, review!
