Epilogue Plus: Welcome to Skyline!
Before you start wondering what's going on here, I will clear it up for you. It's quite simple really.
As you know, I've gotten better at writing. MUCH better. So it'd be kinda weird going from chapter 6 to 7 and there is a sudden increases in dialogue when I update this story in the future. So I'm going to work on re-writing the first seven chapters. Hopefully I've done a better job at it than when I first started this about two years ago… Anyway, enjoy the re-write!
Oh and before I forget (Like I did last time!), Sonic Skyline is NOT mine. It's by this awesome person on DeviantArt called Drawloverlala, so all character designs belong to her (Or him. IDK.).
Before we begin I must ask you all a question. Are you a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog? That was probably a stupid question because if you weren't, you wouldn't have clicked on this story. Anyway this story isn't about the Sonic we know and love. This is from a different universe entirely! This is the world of Skyline! A giant world made out of cloud with floating islands dotted around the world (A bit like Skylands from Skylanders.). There is one island that is a popular tourist attraction though. It's called Raceway Island and it holds dozen of houses, a school, a large warehouse that we'll get too later and the actual attraction of the island… the Skyline Cup Raceway. It is a raceway that dips in and out of clouds, has dozens of corkscrews and loops. It's a lot like the second part of Windy Valley from Sonic Adventure DX. The raceway is popular with the fastest racers of Skyline.
Aside from the raceway, the island is inhabited by anthropomorphic animals such as birds, pigs and hedgehogs. Although eight years ago the villagers of Raceway island disliked one hedgehog that was unintentionally disruptive…
It was market day. Stalls were set up around the large fountain in the centre of town. Townsfolk and tourists milled around the area, purchasing and browsing the different stalls. A large pig and a young adult rabbit were talking as the rabbit bought some meat.
"They finally started construction on that raceway that the council have been planning. It's about time too." The rabbit giggled.
"Indeed. By the time it's finished, there'll be even more people coming to the market. It's a lovely place." The pig let out a hearty laugh.
"Right you are Vanilla. I can't wait to sell a truckload of meat to some rich guy. That'd be the day."
"I don't think it'll be THAT popular."
"Only time will tell Vanilla."
As Vanilla stepped away from the stall, a blur of blue raced just by her feet, blowing over the pig's stall. Meat flew everywhere. The pig snorted with annoyance.
"Brilliant. Just brilliant."
"What was that?" The pig sighed as he retrieved a piece of meat from another lady's basket.
"That, was the blue blur. He's a bit of a ruffian around here. Knocking over stalls and people. He's not very popular amongst the rest of the stall holders." Vanilla looked to her left just as a tomato whizzed by her nose.
"Oh my!"
"Hey! Get back here!"
"You knocked over my stall! Again!"
"Quick! Corner him!"
The mob was gone in a matter of seconds, leaving Vanilla to dust off her dress. The pig let out a huff.
"I almost feel sorry for him. We don't know what he's been though or why he does it. The problem is, he's a repeat offender. That's what's getting on everyone's nerves." Vanilla sighed.
"Hopefully it doesn't go on for too much longer."
…
The mob of angry stall holders had finally cornered "The Blue Blur." Said person, was a blue six-year-old hedgehog with a red bandana and bare feet. The stall holders didn't seem to care though.
"Alright buddy. You've got ten seconds to explain yourself."
The hedgehog covered his head with his hands, his small red bandana already brown from various mushy fruit that was thrown at him. He still said nothing. That really ticked them off.
"Fine. Let him have it!"
The hedgehog cringed, ready to endure the attack.
But it never came. The hedgehog looked up, surprised to see that, maybe, the townsfolk had hearts. He was surprised to see a large human man blocking the mob from attacking him. He was wearing a red coat with yellow cuffs over a large set of black trousers which had white toes and a white line wrapped around his ankles.
"Leave this young hedgehog alone. He is young so he may not know right from wrong. Have pity."
As the large man convinced the mob, the hedgehog checked himself over. He had a couple of scratches and bruises but was nothing compared to the fruit stuck in his fur. When he looked back up the mob had dispersed. The large man turned to face the hedgehog. The first thing that the hedgehog noticed about him was his large nose and absurdly large moustache. The hedgehog stared at him.
"I'm sorry that you had to go through that. My name is Dr Ivo Robotnik. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."
The hedgehog continued to stare at him with a slightly scared face. Ivo sighed.
"Not much of a talker eh? Oh well. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to continue my journey."
And with that he turned around and started to walk away. He stopped half way to the fountain.
"I hope I'll get to see you again Hedgehog."
And with that he continued to walk away. The hedgehog continued to stare as the stranger walked around a corner. Then a slight smile appeared on his face.
"Thank you." He whispered before quickly making his way out of the square. His thoughts lingered on the large man, wondering why he'd saved him. Nobody had ever stood up for him before. He wondered if they would cross paths again.
They would, but not for the greater good.
I think I did a much better chapter out of what I originally had. Not much longer that the original, but hey, it got an overhaul.
As for the rest of the chapters, expect to see them soon. I doubt they'll need much work, maybe a few corrects here and a bit more dialogue there, so I may update them in record time. As for the name being Sonic Skyline Plus now, just think of it as Sonic Mania and it's "Plus" update.
