Danny Phantom: What is This?

By: Hordak's Pupil

Chapter I: Plans

Danny

"The Creature likened himself to Satan. Cast out and rejected by his 'father,' Lancer said looking at his copy of Frankenstein. This was supposed to be a treat for Halloween but as always he dissects every single letter of the the book. He went on how Lucifer was a kind of anti-hero and Milton and later writers gave him 'positive' attributes.

I look up at the clock at the wall. It seemed to be frozen in place, "Thanks a lot Clockwork," I muttered under my breath as I tried to pay attention. I could feel my mind slipping away to the evening. I wondered if I locked the ghost portal today or if my suit still...a loud thud roused me back to the moment. Mr Lancer scowled at me and asked him if man was born inherently good or inherently evil. "Well...you...," was all I could get out before the bell rang.

"Remember do you your essays on whether knowledge should be pursued no matter the cost," he said as the others raced out the door. I went to get up and but Lancer stopped me. "You've been wondering off a lot Danny? Is everything is all right?" he asked concerned. I said I was just tired and haven't got much sleep lately. I tell him that Mr. Palmer has been running me ragged with chemistry and even have nightmares about it. "You know there a thing as too much studying." He said he'd give me an extra week on the paper so I could rest up. I thanked him as I got up and left the room.

"So what is it this time? Saturday dentition?" Tucker asked as I shook my head and told him that he gave me more time for the essay so I could rest up. "Well I know the perfect thing to refresh you," he pulled out his phone and showed me ad for the arcade. "They have a new simu-fighter so real you can feel the attacks. It's the first time it's been released outside of Japan...," I smile and tell him I have other plans tonight. "Like what? This might be the only time it comes to the States?"

"All I can say is that I am going out to eat," Tucker begs me to tell him what but I remain silent.

Jack Skellington

"Here is the book you asked for," the library demon said placing a book on the desk. "Why are you so interested in the war?" he asks as I scan through the book looking for any information on that time.

Ages ago our town was invaded by a cruel tyrant known as Pariah Dark. He sought to control all the realms of the living and the dead. My older brother, Bael Skellington, was the commander of the Infernal Army and marched out to face the evil king. That was the last anyone heard of him. I have searched centuries trying to find some clue but everything turns into a dead end.

"I can look into the records in Limbo. They might have some information," the demon asked as I snapped back to the present and told him that would be perfect. "I will send the request ASAP," he says as he races out of the room leaving me back to my quest.

"JACK! JACK! We have an emergency," the voice of the Mayor shouts as he races into the room. "Jack this is terrible," he says as I close my book and ask him what's wrong. "I went into my reading room to relax when I found my favorite book of necromancy was stolen," he says between breaths. I tell him to calm down and look though his mansion. "I did Jack I searched high and low. I even checked the family crypts but it's nowhere to be found. This can mean only one thing...," I sighed and stood up.

"Listen to me Mayor, just because your favorite book is missing doesn't mean that he's coming back," I place a hand on his shoulder and remind him that his imprisoned deep in the Ghost Zone never to return again.

"That's right," he switches to his happy face. "You are so wise Jack. This is why you're the Pumpkin King," he said as I followed him out to his car. I ask him if he's worked on the plans for next Halloween yet? "Oh yes, the banshees are working on a new song. It will make your blood run cold," I smile and help him into his car. "This will be the most terrifying Halloween ever!" he promises as he takes off.

"I have no doubt," I said waving goodbye to him.

Danny

"Come on Danny please tell me what you're doing?" Tucker said getting on his knees pleading. "I promise I won't say a word," before I could answer my ghost sense went off. "I know duty calls," he says as I run into the alley to transform.

I run down the street and see the Box Ghost terrorizing a UPS truck. "Give me all your parcels or face the wrath of the Box...," I shoot an ectobeam knocking him off his feet. "Who dares to interrupt the Box Ghost," he rants as he sees me. "You dare incur my wrath ghost child," he makes a large box levitate. "I shall crush you beneath the weight of the packages belonging to...," he pauses to look at the label, "Edward Lancer of East Zach Street."

"Great not am only I am going die. It's going to be Mr. Lancer's fault," the specter throws the box but I cut in half. "I hope wasn't expecting anything important," I turn my attention to specter who continues to throw boxes at me. "okay this is getting old," I phase through them and get out my thermos. The pest gasps but cannot escape fast enough. "You don't not give up do you," I tell him putting the device away and head home.

I look at my watch, I have a couple hours before it's time to get ready. I walk up the steps but before I can knock the door swings open and an arm pulls me inside.

"Danny you're just in time," dad says excitedly taking out a device from his pocket. "This is my newest invention the ghost impaler. This baby not only catches ghost it guts them like a...," he begins but stops as Jazz shouts his name. She walks down the steps and told he wasn't going to mention ghosts tonight. "But we're not at the restaurant and Danny wants...,"

"Are you wearing your jumpsuit under your clothes?" she asks as dad begins but doesn't get to say a word. "Go back and take it off," dad sighs and goes back to change. "I am sorry about that Danny. I promise that he will be ready shortly." she says as I nod and head up to take a nap for awhile.

"Finally," I say falling onto my bed and picking up my sketch pad. I always found art to be soothing and helps me get my mind off ghosts.

Lock

"Were you able to get it," Shock asked as I raced into main chamber. I reach into my Trick-or-Treat bag and take out a black leather book with an upside down pentagram on the front written in blood. "In Evangelium inferos," she read the title and opened the book. It was written in a strange language. I gaze at the text until my sister slams it in my face. "You dolt!" she screams at me. "This isn't the original manuscript. It's a copy and a bad one at that." She opens it up to a passage and pushes my head towards it.

She points to a certain sentence on the page. "Mortuus et Vivas simul necessum incatatem?" I look her trying to figure out what it means. She explains to that it says 'the soul of one who is alive and dead' is needed to complete the ritual. "Maybe it means vampire?" I ask as she frowns.

"If they meant vampire they would have used the word Nospherous. Do you see that word on the page? NO because some lazy printer devil was drunk when he copied the text." she looks at it again only to make a face. "I don't believe it!"

"I know I'm and idiot who could," she pushes to the ground and says that's not it. She points to some scribbles on the side of the page. She says those are those the necromancer's personal notes. They are omitted in copies of the text and is used to authenticating the book. "HA I told you I was right," I tell her proudly as my sister rolls her eyes. She tells me don't have time for this.

"Ooh, a new book are there any pictures in it," Barrel's voice asks as he races in the room. Before he can touch it Lock pulls it away and tells him not to touch it. "Aw I wanted to look at the pictures." Shock asks if he got the slime wart from the marshes. "You bet I did," he takes out a jar filled with green slime and placed it on the table.

"We have bigger things to worry about. How are we going to find someone who's 'both alive and dead' before the blood moon," she says Barrel was about to say something when she growled. "Just go now before I use you for the ritual," she screams as we race out the room.

Vlad

"Oh Daniel if only you could see that staying with your father is ruining you," I said as I watched the boy work on his art. I could have enrolled in the finest art schools. I could teach him all I know and hone his powers. I take a breath and calm down as my cat rubs against me. "At least I have you dear Maddie."

"I wonder if my suit still fits," Daniel says walking up to the closet and taking out the suit he wore at his first school dance. It seems the little badger is going on a romantic date. I do hopes he enjoys as it will be last pleasant evening.

"Tonight my boy you will choose and hope you choose right," I transform into Plasmius and take a small remote control from my desk. "Who would think that Technus would actually make something useful. Wonders never cease!" I place two fingers in mouth and give a whistle.

"Vos iz es itst?" the voice of my ghost vulture, Anacletus, asks as he and the others phase into the room. "We're in the middle of a Murder, she wrote marathon." I roll my eyes and tell them I want them to go lure Daniel into the open. "Gee we would love to but the commercial break is almost over." he says as I grab him by the neck.

"The only break you should worry about is the one I am going to do to your necks, farshteyn?" They look at each other and say they will do what I say. "Excellent," I say watching the leave the room. "I am so glad I spent that money on Yiddish lessons."

Mayor

"Welcome home your honor," the head servant ghoul said as I walked in my mansion. "I trust your meeting with the Pumpkin King went well?" he asks as I sit down in my favorite chair. I just nod trying to forget the fact that most evil being is about to be released.

"Did you find my book," I ask him curiously but he shakes his head. "Oh," I switch to my sad face. He assures that the detective monsters are busy looking into it. "Very good I...," there was a knock at the door. I ran up and saw the delivery ghost out front. "Did you get them?" I ask nervously as he hands me a stack of papers.

I hand him a couple of silver coins and race back to my chair. "Are those reports from the Zone?" the servant ghoul asked as I switched back to my happy face. "I thought that master Jack told you he wasn't returning?" I roll my eyes and scan over my prize.

"Oh no," I gasped looking at a photo from the Forsaken Lands of the Ghost Zone as I switch faces. Someone had broke into the castle. "it's just as I feared he's been freed it's the end of the world as we know it." I start to race outside only to be stopped. The servant ghoul said according to the report he was sealed back in his tomb by a mysterious boy. "That's...right," I said calming down and switch back to my happy face again.
