Pain and Love
'She only has one day left to live' is what the doctors said.
A week ago, Tenten had been in a terrible car accident. The doctors said that no matter what anyone said or did, she would die. Her injuries were too severe. This was the last day she had left to live. Everyone was allowed to visit her one last time starting that morning. Tenten had been keeping track and so far everyone had come to say their last farewells to her but Neji Hyuga. Twenty minutes later, even in her condition, she couldn't help but smile when Neji finally walked through her hospital door.
"Hey," she whispered as he sat down on the side of her bed.
"Hey," he replied, his voice soft, as he realized she was hugging the stuffed panda bear he had brought to her a few days before.
"Can you do me a favor?" she asked.
"Anything for you." She smiled at his words.
"Make sure that when I die, this panda is buried with me, please?"Said Tenten as she pulled the hair on the teddy's head softly.
"Of course, but you aren't going to die, you can't, I need you," his voice was growing softer and fainter with every word he said. "I love you," he finally whispered to her.
Tenten pulled Neji into a ten-second kiss, before whispering, "Neji," she was griping his hand in hers and the panda in her other as she said, "I always have, and always will, love you"
Then, without saying another word, still holding his and her panda bear, she drifted off into a dreamless, lifeless, never-ending sleep, a grin embedded upon her face.
