Author's Note: This story will probably suck, and as a forewarning, will include some custom cards, and even some custom clans. There will also be a small, if any, number of canon characters from the actual CF Series. If this doesn't appeal to you, Nobody's forcing you to read this (I hope).
In this day and age of Cardfight Vanguard, the appeal of it has lead many to lead projects on it. Special tournaments, special devices to enhance the game, and even attempts to go to the planet Cray. A most notable attempt, the Neo-Fight system, a perfected system distributed to fighters to allow them to not have to use imagination, as the cards appear before them. This new creation requires only one thing. A glove to activate and respond to the system, as if logging into an account. Which was exactly what it was. Because of all the widespread appeal, and fighting, Cardfighters were all registered into the Neo-Fight system, with a new type of fight format, as well as a new mode: Team Mode. Players could form teams and reach for the top with team ranks. A team can have up to 5 members, and any rank increase or decrease affects the whole team, even if only one player causes it. Teams with high enough rankings even have special invitations to special team tournaments, where the number of team members required varies. The ranks go in this order: None, Bronze, Iron, Steel, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Star. Star rank teams with 5 members receive an invitation to the top tournament of them all. The Ultima Brawl competition. This is the story of a team that came across clans that weren't exactly the normal ones, as well as met others in similar situations, and fought their way to Star Rank. Team Azure Crimson.
At a park themed heavily around the 'Magallanica' nation of the planet Cray, where things were mostly blue, and water-themed, there was trouble brewing, as a group of young children were slowly backing away from a group of teenagers.
"Hey, now...this is a pretty nice card you had there, squirt, shame you lost with it. Because now it's mine, for use of my team."
One teenager said, and his 'lackey' just cheered.
"Right on, Vince! This'll bring us up to Steel rank fast!"
The kid in the center, the kid who had their card taken however, just tried stepping forward.
"P-Please, don't take that card from me..! I can't afford more cards, I don't have a deck without it!"
They said, and Vince just laughed.
"Oh, sticks and stones, squirt. You were weak, anyways. I'm sure you'd just be wasting this SP card. Well, see you never."
He then said, turning around and starting to walk away, before a voice just called out.
"Hold it."
Turning around, Vince noticed a pair of teenage boys, one with short, straight light blue hair, and the other with a little bit more 'messy' and swept to the side dark brown hair.
"You can't just go around and steal kid's cards like that..!"
The blue haired boy said, and Vince just narrowed his eyes.
"And who are you two dorks? Wait, are you two another team?"
He asked, and the two just nodded.
"My name is Azure, and this is Drake."
The blue haired boy, Azure, introduced.
"And we're a new team called 'Azure Crimson'. If we're both part of a team, then I say we settle this over a fight. If we win, you give back that card, If you win, you can take a card from both of us."
Drake declared, and Vince just laughed.
"You idiots are really gonna risk losing your cards, too? I'm a team LEADER, I can already tell from the words 'New Team' that you fools are None Rank. We're Iron Rank, we're already statistically better than you, but if you're serious, I may as well add some cards to my collection."
Vince said, and Drake looked over at Azure.
"Let me handle this."
He said, and Azure nodded.
"Alright."
Vince then just gave a grin.
"Say, since this is going to be a showdown, how about we use the Neo-Fight system? It'd be great to see you lose in style, don't you think?"
He asked, and Drake just put on a red fingerless glove with a crystal in the center of the back of it.
"Fine by me."
He agreed, although the kid who had lost his card tugged on his arm.
"M-Mister! Please, you don't have to do this..! It's alright, really! I...I'll find some other way, you don't have to risk your cards for a stranger!"
He said, and Azure just looked at the kid and smiled.
"It'll be alright, Drake will make sure you get your card back."
He said, and Vince just put his own black fingerless glove on.
"It's time to start, ready or not, fool!"
He said, before swiping his arm to the left, as the glove reacted, and a 'field' appeared in front of him, where he put his deck and starting Vanguard, as Drake swiped his arm as well, placing his own deck and starting Vanguard, and the two drew their starting hand of 5.
"I'll be going first, since you challenged me, sound fair?"
Vince asked Drake.
"Fine with me."
Drake replied, putting his hand on his starting vanguard, Vince doing the same, as the two shouted in unison
"Stand up! Vanguard!"
At that, in front of both of their fields, two Vanguard circles appeared and spiraled, before on Vince's side, Drangal appeared and leapt out of the white circle, before 'barking' at Drake.
"Drangal!"

And what emerged out of Drake's red Vanguard circle was a youthful boy with black hair, and a two-handed sword, from a clan Vince hadn't seen before.
"Dragonslayer Mercenary."
[{POWER: 5000}]
With that, Vince just looked interested.
"What's this? I don't know that unit...Looks like you may have something of value after all. Oh well, only one way to find out. My turn!"
Vince said, as the glove flashed, and he drew.
[Hand - 6]
"Drangal's skill, activate! At the start of my ride phase, I look at the top 5 cards of my deck, and if Knight of Quests, Galahad is among them..."
He declared, before the 5 cards just floated off the deck and moved in front of him, as Vince grabbed one, and tossed it onto his Vanguard circle.
"I ride that card! Superior Ride!"
With that, Drangal engulfed in light, before the Grade 1 Galahad appeared in it's place, pointing it's blade at the mercenary.

"The remaining cards go to the bottom of my deck. I end my turn there."
Vince said, and the glove stopped glowing, and then Drake's glove started to glow, instead.
"Then I draw. Ride. Dragonslayer, Ichor."
He said, putting a card onto the Vanguard circle, as the mercenary took on a red glow, before it was replaced with a dark red wyvern.

"Mercenary has Forerunner, so he moves back."
Drake added, as the wyvern took a red glow, and the Mercenary appeared behind it.
"Going second gives me the first attack, Mercenary boosts, Ichor attacks your Vanguard!"
Drake declared, resting his cards, as the Wyvern just ascended into the air, and let loose a stream of flames.
"No Guard!"
Vince declared, and Drake's glove took on a brighter shine.
"Drive Check!"
He called, as the top card of his deck flipped over.
[DRIVE CHECK - Dragonslayer, Drakon [G3]]
Then, Galahad was engulfed in a white light, before taking the hit and staggering back, the light bursting, and Vince's glove took a glow this time.
"Damage Check!"
[DAMAGE CHECK - Flogal [G0 - Critical Trigger]]
"Tch...of all the times for that...I give the power to Galahad."
Vince said, as Galahad engulfed in a golden light.

"I end my turn."
Drake then said, as his glove stopped glowing.

"Not bad, for a punk. My turn! I draw!"
Vince declared, and then raised his arm in the air, as his deck started glowing.
"Galahad has a similar skill! I look at the top 5 cards of the deck at the beginning of the ride phase, and if among them is Knight of Tribulations, Galahad..."
He said, as the top 5 cards revealed themselves to him, and he grabbed one again and tossed it onto the Vanguard circle.
"I superior ride it! Knight of Tribulations, Galahad!"
At that, the Knight was engulfed in light yet again, and was upgraded to his Grade 2 form.
[{POWER: 9000}]
"In addition, call! Prestigious Knight, Cataracus!"
When the call was declared, and the card was placed, a rear-guard circle emerged, and the new knight emerged from it.
"Cataracus attacks your Vanguard!"
Vince then declared, as the Knight went right for the wyvern.

"No Guard!"
Drake said, as the top card of his deck flew into the damage zone, as the wyvern engulfed in red light, before taking the hit, and the light bursting again.
[DAMAGE CHECK - Dragonslayer Caring Heart, Aalis [G1]]
"Galahad, give him another!"
Vince then declared, as Galahad rushed in.
"Again, no guard!"
Drake said, as the wyvern took on a bright red glow, and was hit again.
"Drive Check!"
[DRIVE CHECK - Laurel Knight, Sicilus [G1]]
At that, the top card flew into Drake's damage zone again.
[DAMAGE CHECK - Dragonslayer BURST [G0 - Front Trigger]]
"Not the best timing for me, either..."
Drake said, and Vince just laughed.
"And just like that, I've taken the lead! I end my turn!"
