"Rin, wait! I'm sensing more than one Servant!" Archer ran after his naïve Master. This was Rin's side of the story that he didn't completely know. Archer had lied to Rin, stating that her inexperienced summoning had caused him temporary amnesia of his past. The details were hazy but he still remember who he was and his mission. Besides, his past wouldn't do her any good either, as Rin was one the many reasons he had decided become a Servant. He had to alter the past to prevent his future from happening.
'Stupid girl,' Archer thought, 'But Rin is Rin.'
Spotting the attack, he blindly the fray, parrying each of the enemy's attacks. There was no time to counter, as his opponent was much more skilled than he was. It was only when one of the attacks propelled him back to Rin's side did Archer got a good look at his opponent.
There stood Saber in her battle stance, ready to strike him down at a moment's notice. All he could do was stare at her despite knowing that he was to fight her. He had missed her so much because deep down inside, she was something he could never ever let go. Archer quickly shoved that out of his mind. He needed to remind on point to complete his end goal to spare everyone pain, especially hers. But regardless of everything he needed to do, Saber was the last person he wanted to hurt. Archer had never loved anyone as he had loved Saber. And that would never change.

I know UBW follows Shirou x Rin (and x Saber, depending on what ending you get), but I've always like Archer x Saber.
I may write a follow up later if the muse hits me again.
