A/N: Oh, look, a random Sync... flash fiction... thing. ... Anyways, this is just something that came to me when I was role playing with a friend of mine. I'm just having way too much fun role playing as Sync, really. If I disappear one of these days, it's probably because my friend mauled me after I bugged her for more posts. xD I churned this out in a little more than ten minutes so it's probably not that great, but I felt like posting it.
Disclaimer: I wished I owned Tales of the Abyss. Because then I would own Sync. :D
Vulnerable
Something just felt terribly uncomfortable about being without his mask. There was just something about everyone being able to see the entirety of the expressions on his face that made him feel so oddly vulnerable. People were able to look him straight in the eye- something that the God-General found himself unfamiliar with after hiding under that mask of his for almost two years.
Two long years of nothing but watching people's feet and glaring into the mask that so graciously veiled his face from the sight of others.
Certainly, that sort of seclusion was bound to take its toll, and it had very effectively withdrawn Sync further from society than he had been when he'd been born. He'd discovered this aversion when it had been his enemies looking down at him as he'd fucked with their heads, using the very same that had belonged to the seventh replica of the Fon Master.
Despite the smirk that he'd allowed to form on his face at that time, he had been unnerved that they were all staring him in the eye. The sight of so many people looking at him had been an overwhelming feeling, but it had felt even worse to have his enemies visible to his eyes.
He couldn't wait to give that replica a good whack for breaking his mask.
A/N: Tell me what you thought?
