Luna was the one who stood out from the crowd, the one who didn't care what anyone else thought of her. Nevile had always admired that about her, she was always just herself. She was happy go lucky, confident and sometimes that little bit baffling. She was the opposite of Neville in so many ways, but what was that old saying? Opposites attract. And that's how he ended up there that day, peeping nervously round the corner, hoping against hope he didn't fumble over what he was about to do. And then there she was, her long blonde hair bobbing behind her gracefully as she skipped merrily down the corridor, her radish earrings swaying from her ears. Neville was gaping slightly, his legs shaking as he watched her. Come on, he thought to himself, you're a Gryffindor. Neville was trying desperately to summon his inner lion as he watched the beautiful yet mysterious girl. Everyone was gone, it was just the two of them. Slowly, he stepped out from his hiding place. She had her back to him at that moment as she danced around the corridor. And then he did it. He grabbed her shoulders gently, spun her around and descended his lips onto hers, his eyes squeezed shut. Luna's sparkling blue eyes widened as she felt that kiss. Soon however, she melted. She dropped her books and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. When they finally broke away Neville grinned sheepishly down at her. "Well that definitely wasn't the nargles," Luna laughed in her soft voice before hugging him and laughing in a sweet way that floated around them peacefully. Opposites definitely attract.
