"One, two, three, four..."
Teddy nuzzled the back of his boyfriend's neck, "What are you doing?"
Billy reached behind him and twisted Teddy's hair around his finger, enjoying how smooth it felt. "I'm working out how far away the lightning is. It's a trick I learnt in scouts."
"You learnt it in the sound of music."
Billy laughed, and felt Teddy chuckle into his nape, "Well, I didn't want to sound too gay."
"Yes, because there's nothing gay about the scouts."
Billy turned his head and raised an eyebrow, "What are you implying?"
"I had my first kiss in scouts," Teddy rested his head on Billy's shoulders and stared into middle-distance, his smile turning dopey, "Maurice Cooper. Two years older than me. Absolute stud in his uniform. Quite a versatile tongue."
"Tomorrow, I'm gonna track him down and kill him."
Teddy planted a kiss on Billy's cheek then scampered back to bed, "Don't worry, babe, I settled for you. And I intend to live with that for the rest of my life." He pulled up the sheets and leant back against the pillow, "Anyway, how far away's the lightning?"
There was a pause, and then slowly, methodically, eerily, Billy turned around, hands crackling with electricity and eyes aglow with mischief. "Closer than you think, Teddy." Then, in one smooth motion, Billy leapt from the window to the bed, pinned Teddy against the headboard and made him eat his words.
I realise it was quite a violent name for such an inoccuous scene, but I like it.
