Peeta Age 5

When I hear her voice, my jaw drops. Her voice sounds as beautiful as a sunset. I don't hear her words, just her voice. Who is this girl?

Her name is Katniss. Her eyes shine brighter than the sun, even though they are grey. Her dark hair is kept in a braid, amplifying the beauty of her soft olive skin on her face.

Katniss has just lost her father. I have to help her. I decide to burn some bread, even though I know my mother will beat me because of it. I see her just outside the bakery. I can see that she is starving When the bread is burnt, my mother will make me throw it away. When I do, I toss it to Katniss. I hope that will be enough.

I've never seen someone who is so strong both physically and mentally. Ever since I tossed her that burnt bread, she has picked herself up for her family. Everyday I see her go into the woods and come back with wild game. My father buys her squirrels. She is a good hunter. She hits every animal she gets right in the eye every time. I truly admire her strength as well as her beauty.

Katniss and I are both going into the games. She volunteered for her sister. She is braver than I ever could be. She is not afraid to die for her family, but she won't have to. I will do what I can to keep her alive, even if it means the death of me.
