Disclaimer: I don't own anything. Eiichiro Oda-sensei is the sole-creator of the One Piece Universe.
This one-shot is also based on the fanfic "Make no Mistake" by Dickyang. This one shot has no real connection to their work I am just borrowing their playground (which is amazing by the way, go and read it).
Notes: If you haven't read mnm this one-shot may seem very confusing. I give this piece of writing to my beloved twin Vendelareader, she wanted something with Zoro and I willingly obliged. The story takes place around chapter 3 in Make no Mistake… I think. XD
What's Hard and What's Not
The laughing had yet to stop as Zoro slammed his pen down on the desk. In front of him lay his badly written notes and the economics books. He was getting nowhere with it. Popping his back, he stood up leaving his desk in a mess. The floorboards moaned silently by each step he took in the hall. The wooden chair at his desk standing empty for the first time since that morning.
Nothing besides the floorboards beneath his feet, the distant sound of the television-surely showing some bad alien movie again-and Luffy's voice could be heard inside the house.
From the bottom of the stairs he could almost see the whole kitchen and the fridge was just out of sight. Promising him a cold comforting drink. If he could only get to the kitchen without being sighted by Luffy, that would be great. The guy almost always made him do things he hadn't planned to do. Right now he couldn't afford a distraction like that.
The noise hadn't stopped though, even if Luffy's laughter had taken a momentary break. Zoro crossed the short distance. In his peripheral vision Zoro saw Luffy twitch as the fridge was opened with a distant "clunk". He barely had the time to turn around and face him as Luffy slammed his body at him.
"Come watch a movie with me" the clingy mass that hung on to Zoro said. Luffy clinged to Zoro like a monkey.
Was this supposed to be some sort of hug or did he just get attacked? Luffy's arms had caught Zoro's arms and forced them to the sides. At a feeble attempt to flee Zoro flexed his arms, but it didn't do much. He really didn't have time for this shit.
The black mop of hair was the only thing he could see of Luffy's head. As he stood there he felt the grip around him getting tighter, hindering from going anywhere, from drinking his beer and defiantly studying. Right now he didn't care if the head got a bump or two if that's what it took to free himself.
"No" he said and forcibly pushed his arms outwards. Luffy were surprisingly strong, but offered barely any real resistance for Zoro. After a few seconds of struggle, Luffy clonked to the floor as he lost his grip.
Luffy grinned at Zoro. Not in the least defeated as he sat on the ground.
"That was really hard for me, I bet you thought it was really easy. You're so good on the things you do" Luffy said.
Pushing himself up from the ground and dusting himself off.
"Easy you say huh" Zoro mumbled to himself as he ventured back to his room. Wishing that his economics were just some wrestling match. Maybe if he just attacked the problem right…
