All Hallows Eve
"Harry you can't be serious?" Ron groaned as he avoided looking at his friend. It wasn't fair. Why did it have to be him who was stuck babysitting Harry this year?
"Why not. It'll be fun." Ron choked on the pumpkin juice he had just swallowed.
"Fun! For who?" This was so wrong it went out the other side of being wrong.
"Erm, me." Harry checked his appearance in the mirror. Ron turned to look at him before turning back again. There was something fundamentally wrong with him to think this was fun.
"They're going to kill you, literally."
"That's why I have one the best right here to defend me." Ron blinked.
"Excuse me. What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well I don't want to make any sudden moves that could get me killed so you'll have to protect me." Harry smiled at his friend, not that you could tell it was a smile even if you were looking at it. Ron wasn't. He was trying very hard not to look at his friend.
"Come on, it's time to go." Ron sighed. He had done something very bad in a previous life. He glanced at Harry. Very very bad.

Severus sighed as he drank some of his firewhiskey. There was nothing else in the entire world that could help him relax after having to deal with all those brats. Especially Potter. That boy was determined to drive him into an early grave. He frowned as there was a knock at the door. There's only a slim chance it was a student as most of them were to afraid to come to him and the rest knew he didn't appreciate being interrupted at this time. That left an emergency or a member of staff most likely Dumbledore. There was another knock. They weren't going away.
Severus got up and moved to the door pulling his wand out as he went. The war might have ended but it always paid to be cautious. As soon as he had opened the door he started firing spells. This couldn't be happening. It just wasn't allowed. His spells hit some sort of shield and fizzled into nothing. He stopped firing to figure out his next move. He needed to alert the order, he… He stopped to watch as the figure in front of him raised one hand with something in it.
"Trick or Treat?" asked Voldemort. Severus closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again. It was still there. Maybe it was a boggart. That would explain it.
"I'd give him something if I were you. He'll go away when you do." Severus turned to look at the speaker.
"Weasley?" what the hell was going on?
"You know what he's like sir. Once he gets an idea in his head you can't stop him." Severus paused to think about that. There were only two people he could think that acted like that and only one of them would warrant Weasleys presence.
"Potter?" He asked. What the hell was the boy playing at? Voldemort grinned. That was very wrong.
"Trick or Treat?" He asked again.
"I'm serious sir the twins sent him a care package today as well as the new catalogue." Severus sighed as he conjured some chocolate and put it into the basket.
"This is"
"Incredibly wrong, yes sir. Okay where next Harry?"
"Minnie's room." Severus who was just about to close the door and cry himself to sleep rethought his plans.
"I think I will come along." Ron grinned. Severus couldn't help but think things were never boring with Potter around. It was on these rare occasions that he was actually glad the boy had stayed on as a teacher. He grinned as he imagined the look on Minerva's face.
