"Look at her." Moonshine said. "They're so beautiful." "Yes they are." said Glacier. "Nothing is prettier than a few shiny Eevee." "I agree. And they probably aren't the only ones." "Yes. Shinyness is much more common than it used to be." "And with recent kidnappings, we need to make sure they're not taken." "Absolutely. Let's get some rest. I'll sleep by the entrance so I'll hear anyone coming." "Good."
Later that night, Moonshine was woken up by the sound of a Pokémon approaching. He stood up, and went outside. He saw a figure, silhouetted by the faint moonlight. He could not tell what it was. It walked closer, and Moonshine became worried. He was prepared to attack, when the Pokémon charged. He hit Moonshine with Dragon Claw, and the blow launched him into the side of the tree, knocking him out. The Pokémon went inside. Glacier, woken up by the noise, was horrified as she saw a Haxorus in front of her, Moonshine lying behind it. Haxorus used Scratch repeatedly on her, until she fainted. He then ran over to the female Eevee, and was about to kill it with Slash, when a Charizard came in and attacked it.
The two had a fierce battle, but Charizard eventually won. He went and took Eevee out of her bed, and flew off into the night. He got a long way, until he was attacked by a Hydreigon. Charzard dropped Eevee, and she plummeted to earth. She was caught by a tree, and hit the ground more gently then she would have. Still unable to walk, she stayed there and cried.
She was found an hour later by an eight-year-old boy. "What's wrong little Eevee?" he said, picking her up. "You're all alone, aren't you? Don't worry, I'll take care of you. I'm Max." Eevee stopped crying, and looked up at the boy. She stared at him for a moment, then smiled. "Eve!" she said. "Yay!" he said. Max ran back home, Eevee in his arms.
