You know how it is, when you go somewhere and wake up and have no idea where you are?
That's how I felt. Why was I here? Away from home. Away from my friends. At this point in time I hated Tulsa, Oklahoma. I left my home in NYC. My mom just had to get that new job, I mean moving from her hair solon to go work in this new one that her "best friend", as she says, owns. I thought I would never meet any new friends, but I was wrong, I made enemies and allies. This is my story…
I was in the solon, you know how it is when you have one parent and you have to help them out with their job. Well that's what I was doing. A tall dirty blonde haired girl walked in with another girl that had light blonde hair. The lighter haired girl was much shorter than the other girl. They walked up the counter where I was working.
"Hi, um we were wondering if we could get our hair styled around 5'o clock tomorrow?" The tall one said to me.
I nodded and opened the appointment book.
"Names?" I asked.
"Laura Wilder and Britt Sanders," they said in unison.
"Alright see you then," I said as they walked out with grins on their faces.
I sighed and went back to sitting in one of the waiting chairs, reading a magazine and chewing on some peppermint gum. I sat for about 5 minuets until I heard the bells on the door ring. I looked up from my magazine. A tall, light, almost white, haired guy with and elfish face walked in and looked around. I stood up and from behind him I said, "Can I help you sir?"
He turned around quick and looked at me. He soon started to look me up and down as he grinned. He continued to stare until I snapped him out of it by asking again, "Can I help you?"
I was chewing on my gum hard now
"Oh yeah, did you see two blonde haired chicks come in here?"
He continued to look around.
"Yeah they were just in here, they left down that way," I said as I pointed right down the road.
"Thanks," he stopped and started again, "sweet pea."
He left and walked down the street in a cool walk. I was disturbed by him, but yet, slightly, I wanted to see this tough guy again.
