DISCLAIMER: This is my own interpretation of the rooftop scene from Episode 2, Series 4.
The contents from the small wooden box left the hands of the boy who grasped it. The red head watched as the drawings of a once was love floated in the air until it turned into tiny black dots and eventually became no longer visible to the human eye.
"And off she goes…" The male sibling of the dead girl whispered.
Satisfied with this gesture he turned his body away from the edge and jumped off the concreted building and left the two girls to their battle.
"Emily?" The blonde's voice spoke her name, adding emphasis to it.
Emily eventually stood up, but she did not relieve herself from the edge. Her entire body was faced away from Naomi, leaving only the view of her back to face her. Emily could hear the girl let out a few quiet whimpers. A small smirk peeled across her red faded lips, but soon it disappeared when she realized why they both were there on that early morning.
"Dead in a second.", she said aloud. "We all could be dead in a second", she repeated her words once more.
"Please", Naomi cried out to Emily.
Just one more inch and the young girl could eventually fall to her death, but she had more sense then that. She had a sister and a younger brother and her parents for God sakes. She wouldn't dare put them through such trouble just to show this girl, a girl she would have gone to the moon and back for, that she had hurt her once again.
Open Day.
A day to which students could go visit a college or university and become accustomed to their ways and one day attend that school. The blonde was suppose to spend those days with Emily. They were to go away for the summer and travel, but Naomi had made up some bollocks excuse that she couldn't. She wouldn't dare. It wasn't a good idea for the newly announced couple.
"Our relationship is built upon lies. You know that don't you?" Emily peered her head over her shoulder.
Her brown eyes glanced over at Naomi. Fear showed in the blonde's eyes. A soft chill ran up her spine, never had she seen such terror in someone's eyes as the way she was viewing it now. Emily closed her own eyes for a brief moment then faced her attention back around towards the ground below her. It was just for scare. She wanted the girl to feel how she felt when news poured around campus of Naomi and the dead girl's rendezvous.
"Of course you do", she eventually said, answering her own question.
"It didn't mean anything." Finally she spoke more than just one word, but it wasn't something Emily wanted to hear.
Honestly, she wasn't sure what she wanted to hear. It wasn't like a simple sorry would make everything better again. Apologizing wouldn't work anymore like it had in the past.
"We were special!" Emily cried out. Warm tears escaped her eyes. She didn't want to cry. She was so sick of crying over this girl. "But you ruined that…you've ruined everything between us!"
Emily could feel her body wanting to burst. She wanted to say everything that had crossed her mind numerous of times in the past 48 hours, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Instead she jumped, but not to her death. Her feet landed on the cold pavement. Emily quickly moved her body past the blonde. Her shoulder brushed up against Naomi's roughly.
"I was scared," Naomi whined.
"You're always scared." Emily knew if she looked back at the girl her emotions would come crashing down and she couldn't handle that again. She gave a piece of herself to that girl and she knocked her down. Emily left Naomi to her defeat.
Game over.
