Black Blood Brothers – Awakening

A year after the Kowloon attack, Mimiko has been harborring secrets, that even she didn't know about. Mimiko/?

Chapter 1

Two people could be seen walking in the snow, both were wearing long coats to keep warm If you looked closely enough, you would have seen that one was a young woman and the other, a young boy no older than eight.

They both seemed to be talking, as they walked. Well, it was more of the child really. "Where are we going? Why are we going? What was so importan-"

"Whoa, slow down kiddo. We're visiting an old friend of mine. It has been a while since I have seen him, and I believe it is time to go there."

"Yeah, but why?"

"Well for one, to be a good warrior you need to be able to attack an enemy in different surroundings Yu-"

"MIMIKO!" a voice called out, waking Mimiko was her day dream. She was sitting in the kitchen, at the table drinking a cup of coffee. 'Must have spaced out...'

"Wha...Oh good morning Kotaro" Mimiko said smiling at the ten year old boy.

"You were spacing out, what's wrong?" Kotaro asked curiously.

"Oh it's nothing, don't worry about it" Mimiko answered smiling before noticing the large bear in Kotaro's arms. "What happened to Bow-wow?"

"I was playing with him and he got caught in the door and now his arms falling off." Kotaro said tears starting to fall.

"It'll be alright Kotaro, I'll get it fixed sometime today, okay?" she answered wiping his eyes with a tissue before taking the large bear of him to have a look at it.

"Okay, um Mimi? Aren't you going to be late for work?" Kotaro asked looking at the clock.

"What...oh crap" Mimiko stated seeing it was 8:15, she should have been at work fifteen minutes ago. Quickly she entered the bathroom and got changed. Before she picked up a bucket behind the door and entered Jiro's room, and she was out of the warehouse in less than fifteen minutes.

Kotaro had watched her the entire time, never knowing that Mimiko could move so fast, for a human that is. In his shock/stupider moment, he never noticed that she had ruffled up his hair as she left. A scream, suddenly brought him out of it as he saw steam coming out of his brothers room. If it wasn't for the steam he properly wouldn't have known why Mimiko had gone into his brother's room.

3 hours later...

"MIMIKO!"

"What is it Hibari, you don't need to yell?" Mimiko said looking at her friend tiredly.

"I've been trying to get your attention all day, are you alright?" Hibari asked concerned. "Did the silver blade keep you up all night?"

"What, no! Nothing of the sort happened" Mimiko answered in self defence.

"Sure, whatever you say Mimiko. What's that?" Hibari asked passing her friend some tea, while trying to look at whatever Mimiko had been doing.

"It's nothing" Mimiko answered quickly closing the book and hiding it away in her bag from Hibari peeking eyes. "Don't you have work to do?"

"Yeah, but it's so boring. So come on what was it?" Hibari continued as Mimiko rolled her eyes.

"Well..." she started but stopped when her phone rang "Katsuragi here, what's up Chief?"

"Got some black bloods causing trouble in the old yard, I need you to go down and deal with it" Jinnai asked, Mimiko was silently thanking him for cutting through the conversation with Hibari.

"Gotcha chief" she answered before putting her phone away. "Guess we'll have to have that conversation another time Hibari and try and get your work done. It has to be finished in two hours."

"Wait! The deadlines today!" Hibari panicked not realising the other compromisers were glaring/rolling their eyes or quietly laughing at her behaviour as Mimiko left the room.
