A note.
That's all that was left. He left her a note. He didn't even have the decency to tell me he was going. He just left. He left like a coward. He just left a note.
Goodbye.
The folded piece of card still sat on her bed, mocking her. Emotions flooded into her. She'd been numb before. Sobs racked through her body. She loved him.
Thoughts like these circled her head for hours. Charlie had long since gone to bed when the last of the tears slowly slipped of her face.
"Better?" a harsh male voice asked from the corner. It sounded like bliss. Bella's head snapped up. Her eyes widened and she backed away from him towards her closed bedroom door. Her mouth tried to form words but her brain wouldn't allow it.
The Cullen's weren't here to protect her. The pack didn't know she wasn't protected. She was alone with a vampire –a blood thirsting vampire whose nearest snack was here.
"He's left you." His voice said with no trace of sympathy, "and before he changed you, as well. Make your choice, Bella: live for an eternity with us, with the power to get revenge or die now. I can tell what you're thinking; human minds are all the same. We want you Bella, your gift, the ability to conceal your thoughts and protect you from other gifts –it's unique. We don't take being refused very kindly." Warning was in his sexy smoky black eyes. Bella's mouth opened again but her voice failed her. He was just as beautiful as his sister, Jane."Pack what you need." Alec ordered. He understood. She wanted to come.
Her bag was packed quickly and contained barely anything. The man had informed her of how unsuitable most of her clothes were for the home she was about to join. She packed an outfit for another day and that was it. She awkwardly shoved her underwear down the side of the bag with her panties enclosed tightly in her fist until they were deposited at the very bottom of the bag.
The man took the bag off of her when she went to place it on her shoulder. "Leave a note." He commanded. She grabbed Edwards noted and turned it over.
I'm sorry, I love you.
She wrote for her dad. She took a deep breath. This was what she wanted. She wanted to be a vampire.
Charlie woke up the next morning and checked on his daughter. He saw the note. Search parties went out. He rang the Cullens. Her truck wasn't missing. Her clothes were still in her wardrobe.
He never got answers of what happened to his daughter. He never got to know that she'd runaway with vampire royalty. He never knew she became a monster.
