Of Elements
Locked in struggle, endless in woes and trouble;
Fragile autumn leaves,
Swept away from the high perch-
Know ground's obloquy.
A breeze formed of focus and absolution brushes aside the mist and redoubles,
Scarlet cape but still in the midst of her partner's tempestuous fury;
Less than open eyes than a true mind, the knowledge a jury.
The moment given, her mind in harmony with action, practiced actions,
But only in this perfect barrier, freed from shackles of any distraction,
Does her heart roam freer than mind.
The method is needless of mention, the being in defeat all but resigned.
Memory keeper,
Fighting with mortal creatures,
He is no reaper.
Fallen to the ground, as the leaves kept company in death,
The essence of being pours slowly out of the wound with his breath.
Devoid of wrath, his only goal to affect;
This keeper began to reflect.
Of ancient knowledge inured to, interest piqued;
He utters his passing shriek-
A final tribute to time, the elegy of final composition,
As the vicinity begins its offhand transposition.
Author's Note: This short composition of two haiku and poetic verse surfaced in a simple attempt to begin writing again. The setting is completely unmentioned besides the small bit about leaves, however it is of Claire de Farron battling the (imaginary) fal'Cie of time, and being transported to another place, in perhaps a crossover.
I probably won't continue this myself; any suggestions for characters and/or a plotline for me to be a writing engine for would be greatly appreciated via review or PM. Hopefully the format was something refreshing, but I'll be writing the rest of the story in prose, unless suggested otherwise.
