A Blossoming Romance
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the canon characters; they belong to Bethesda Studios and any other respective owners. This double drabble was based on the prompt: "We can't keep this up forever."
Word Count: 200
"We can't keep this up forever," Vilkas cautions, checking over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't followed. "Your Thane is starting to get suspicious, I believe," he murmurs.
"And your brother is wondering why we can never be in the same room at the same time," Lydia smirks, admiring the grey of her lover's eyes. "But you know why, Vilkas," she teases.
"Aye. By Mara, you are going to be the death of me, woman!" Vilkas shouts, his heartbeat quickening as Lydia comes closer to him, her hand splayed on his chest armor.
"You know, Asta and Farkas are preoccupied tonight because Blaise and Alesan asked to go camping," Lydia reminds with a wicked grin on her face, the one that makes Vilkas go weak in his knees.
"And you're suggesting what, my love?" the Circle member inquires, a playful smirk on his lips.
"Neither of us shall be missed this night at Breezehome or Jorrvaskr," she states.
As she turns to run, Vilkas catches sight of a particular talisman.
"An Amulet of Mara?" Vilkas shakily asks, his breath hitching in his throat.
"Interested in me, are you?" Lydia laughs breathlessly.
"I am!" he admits before starting his pursuit.
Author's Note: And there it is! My second Skyrim story! I originally wasn't planning on writing another story for this fandom so soon, but when I saw this prompt on the list of available drabble prompts, I knew I needed to write it for Vilkas X Lydia. I just started playing the game again two or three weeks ago for the first time in nearly four years due to a broken disc! I remembered that my Nord Dragonborn Asta married Farkas, but I also remembered that I also seriously considered Vilkas as a potential husband for her as well. Thus, while I started re-playing, I realized how much I wanted Vilkas and Lydia to get together in a universe where the Dragonborn does not marry Vilkas. So, long story short, the Companion and the housecarl have to sneak around behind Farkas' and Asta's backs because they think the married couple will not approve; they couldn't be more wrong, because Farkas and Asta are extremely happy for the new couple and wonder when they will finally wed. Anyway, that was just some background for the fic. (I know no one probably read all of this, but for those of you who did, let me say a large thank you.) I hope you all enjoyed this story; be on the lookout for other Skyrim stories from me! Reviews are always greatly appreciated! Until next time, my dear readers! Have an amazing day, afternoon, or night!
