It was the day after our wedding, and we were walking in the garden at the Western Palace. Next to me was my mate, Sesshomaru. He was the one that had revived me from the depths of hell, twice. I smile up at my mate, and give a little giggle. He looks down at me with a questioning look in his eyes.
"Oh, it's nothing. I was just remembering somthing from a while back." I say. Just thinking of it makes me giggle again. I had to stop walking so i didnt fall over, as the giggles turned into laughter. He moved in front of me, are put his finger under my chin, cusing me to look into his eyes. There was the faintest trace of amusement in his eyes.
"Rin" he said. There was authority in his voice, but it was still soft and silky as ever when he talked to me. I sighed and started to explain, stiffling some laughs.
FLASHBACK
I was about 10 years old. It was a cold night, and the fire was starting to burn out. But nonetheless, I stayed curled up content. Ah-Un was nearby, and Master Jaken was sitting next to me, criss-crossed with the Staff of Two Heads next to him. I had finally managed to doze off into a fitfull sleep. I had soon woken up screaming, and crying. Sesshomaru, who was resting against a tree, looked over to me.
"Rin, what is it?" he asked. He didnt seem very interested. I ran over to him, and stopped a few feet from him as i always did. My face was tearstainded, and i was trying to stiffle sobs.
"S-sesshomaru-sama! Rin had a nightmare! I dreamed that I was older, and I was getting married!" I started to say. I paused to stiffle another sob.
" The bad part was that I was marrying Master Jaken!" and with saying this, I started fully crying again. To my utter surprise, Sesshomaru opened one of his arms, inviting me into and embrace. I ran over without even hesitating. He enclosed his arm around my small shoulders, and i tried in vain to stop my sobs. I was gretting his kimono wet. When the tears had subsided, i built up the courage to ask him;
"Sesshomaru-sama, when i grow up, can I marry you so I dont have to marry Master Jaken?" I asked timidly, still curled up under his arm. I thought i saw a look of surprise cross his face, but it was gone so soon, I was'nt sure I really saw it. It took him a few moments to answer.
"Hn" That was all I needed to hear to be content enough to fall back to sleep. I had known that he wasn't serious, but it was still good to hear.
END OF FLASHBACK
I looked up at him once more, as he had dropped my face when I started to speak. I was stiffling laughter once more. He had a curious look in his eyes.
" I know, It's stupid. But I just thought how funny it was that we had actually gotten married, just like you promised." I said. He grabbed one of my hands, and examined it. He does this when he's thinking.
"I guess so. But did it ever occur to you that I had planned this?" He replied innocently. I gasped, and took my hand back.
"No way!" I said. I flashed him a grin, and put my arms around his neck. I planted a kiss on his lips and kept it there. He put his arms around my waist, holding me against him. "Rin, I love you." he said "I love you too, Sesshomaru." I replied.
