Children and Adults.
People of all ages waited in line to watch the Great Zombini and his assistant Viv.
Balloons were handed to the young ones and people in their seats stuffed themselves with popcorn and cotton candy.
"Are you sure this w-will work?" The redhead asked her boss as he set up the box.
"Don't fret, my little pet, this will be just fine." Viv could see the insane glint in his eyes, but she shook it off "O-Ok, I trust you."
The house lights dimmed, making the crowd go quiet with anticipation, parents shushing their kids.
Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and girls of all ages! I present to you, the Great Zombini and his lovely assistant Viv!
The curtains pulled open to reveal...an empty stage?
The crowd was puzzeled, was the Great Zombini not present?
A puff of purple smoke and a flash of light, and the Great Zombini flipped his cape open to reveal his lovely assistant.
Her fiery red hair shone in the bright lights, the sequins on her outfit the same.
"Welcome. I trust you all believe in magic, do you not?"
Children in the crowd cheered as Zombini turned a deck of cards into roses and tossed them in the crowd, to be caught by a little girl in a pink raincoat.
"As you can see," He glided across the stageand rest his hand on the black and red box", this is no ordinary box." He shifted and pulled out, possibly the most gruesome thing Viv had ever seen. It was a shiny saw, nearly the size she was. It's teeth seemed to laugh at her.
Her knees began to shake, but she kept her stance, this was her first assisting job, she wasn't going to screw it up!
"My lovely assistant will lay in this box, and I shall cut her in half!"
Viv had seen magicians before and always felt sorry for the assistant, but they never got hurt. Were they as scared as she was at the moment? She breathed out, surely Zombini would never truly hurt her...right?
She couldn't think anymore as the magician beckoned to her with one of his boney fingers, her high heels seemed like weights as she stumbled across the stage, firing up some chuckles from the audience.
"Lay down in the box, my dear, I will complete this trick." She felt a bit better. She crawled into the cold box, her feet sticking out of the end.
The saw looked sinister in the light as he brought it closer. Her reflection showed tears in her eyes as he placed the saw in place and began to saw through the wood.
Viv saw and panicked as the insane look returned to his eyes, they began to swirl, a cruel smile plastered on his face. Then the pain began.
She felt the teeth sear through her skin and her stomach, she screamed, the pain blinding her.
Blood poured from the box and onto the stage. But he kept sawing, insane laughter pouring out of him, blood spraying his face and white blouse red.
The audience screamed and some even fainted, the crowd stepping over on another trying to leave the tent.
The sawing continued yet, now sawing her spine in half. Blood poured from her mouth, mixing with her tears.
The saw now stained with crimson, the magician let go of it, the laughter now choking him, his eyes still swirled, foam began to pour from his mouth, his body spasming, hitting the floor, silencing the magician. Poor Viv's vision finally giving in to the black.
~The Crowd had gathered to see a trick,
But Zombini opted to make them sick.
As his assistant lie trapped in a box, afraid,
He severs her body with the cut of his blade~
