Simple
By KnightHunter

"That was your best time this week." Inui stepped out from the trees and smiled slightly as he looked at the stopwatch in his hand.

Kaidoh was surprised to see him standing there. He was sure that they weren't scheduled to practice doubles, or to train for that matter. And yet, there he was, waiting for him.

He let out a small hiss as he wiped his face and neck with the towel around his neck.

"If you say so." He muttered as he began to stretch out his tired muscles. He knew Inui was watching, he always watched.

"So, what are you doing here?" He asked as he untied the moist bandana from his head.

"No reason." Inui stated simply as he walked towards him.

Inui never does anything without a reason.

He couldn't help but hiss at that.

"No extra training? No tips for improving my form? You don't want to practice doubles? No disgusting special drinks for me to drink?"

"No, no reason at all." Inui seemed different. Something was up.

"That's hard to believe," he muttered as Inui stood next to him.

"I wanted to see you."

There was something about the tone in his voice, something about the way he spoke that brought a flush to his cheeks. He didn't try to hide it; he couldn't hide much when Inui was involved.

"Why are you blushing?" Inui asked in the same tone in his voice that never failed to send shivers up his spine.

"You should know..." He couldn't help but feel like he was being toyed with. He couldn't help but shake the feeling that he was caught in some sick game and he that didn't know the rules to play.

"I should know what?" Inui simply raised an eyebrow as he glanced down at him.

"You should know...you do know...how you make me feel the way I do..."

"About me?" Inui asked.

Kaidoh didn't answer. He just stared at Inui, trying to read the expression on his face. Trying to see in Inui what was so easy for Inui to see simply by looking at him.

"It's not fair."

"What's not fair?"

"I can't hide anything from you. It's like you can read my mind. It's not fair. I can't figure you out. What do you want? Why are you doing this to me? Why me?" His words came out in a rush as his temper took hold.

"It's simple." Inui stated as he calmly looked down into Kaidoh's eyes. "I love you."

"Damn it!" Kaidoh shouted as he rushed at Inui. He wanted to hit him, beat that knowing smirk off his face. It took him a moment before he realized that Inui had trapped him in an embrace. His arms were pinned to his sides, his hands still balled in fists. "It can't be..."

"I've tried to analyze what I've felt inside my heart, but I've realized that it doesn't have to be so complicated." Inui whispered into his ear as he held him close. "I know that you feel the same for me, I can see it when I look into your eyes."

He couldn't think of anything to say. He sighed and just let Inui hold him.

"It's not fair, is it?" Inui asked after awhile.

"No, it isn't."

"But that's why you love me." Inui said as he let go of Kaidoh and smiled.

"If you say so." Kaidoh muttered; his cheeks were still flushed red.

Inui just smiled.
