I wandered the city streets, looking for the numbers marking the home of my next prey. This would be the pinnacle, the zenith of my existence. I would finally have my revenge on the fool who made me what I am.

Who am I, you ask, yet you know me. You must know me, for I am he who struck terror in your weak, mortal hearts, the dark force of the decade. I am infamous, notorious, yet revered among my people for the horror I have sown throughout the universe.

So as I charged this small town, I met no resistance. The area had been evacuated long before I began laying it to waste. I enjoyed (that is, if I can enjoy anything) the ability to speed on. However, it irritated me slightly, or I was in a raging frenzy and wanted to hear the screams of a living human as I ripped them apart, molecule by molecule.

But no matter. I had found the dwelling place of the human whom I hunted. I knew he would be waiting for me with chessboard and tea, as he had in the olden days. But we both knew that this time was different. For this time he would die.

I stilled as I entered his dimly lit home. With my transformation from absolutely pure to absolutely evil had come a new awareness, a new sense. I could hear his shallow breath, the steady but weak beating of his heart. For one fleeting moment I wondered if I could feel envy, for I had no heart. No trace of humanity remained within me.

But I quickly forced the feeling away, and did what I was driven to do. When I left the abode, he breathed no longer.

Wow... That was dark. I just reread it. I mean, it was supposed to be dark, and darkness is what one expects when one writes a Dark Dan story, but seriously...

Now for the actual author's note:

Dang, I never thought that my first uploaded story would be a creepy Dark Dan story. I mean seriously, who knew? I actually wrote this for an assignment in my Gifted Ed/Language Arts class. We were supposed to write an Edgar Allan-Poe type story, and I love Danny Phantom, so I wanted to use either Dark Dan or Vlad, and this just came out... Almost naturally. I never knew I had a dark side this dark. But I can go darker, and I probably will. Mwahahahahahaha! Okay I just creeped myself out. But yeah. In case you didn't guess, this was from Dark Dan's point of view, and he murdered Vlad. Although, I don't think murder really seems like what Dark Dan does... He seems like more of an, um... indifferent whirlwind type. You know? No, you probably don't because I'm weird like that... I'm rambling, aren't I?

Sorry. Unless it's, like, a story or poem or whatever, my writing is kind of jerky, as in, random, sudden tugs in random directions. Get used to it.

R&R please! (Or you'll feel guilty for not reviewing... :)

Hugs, Viki
