Skip, Turn, Step

A thousand red roses lined the room, a million dancing flames lit the skies; all skirting to the ¾ beat. Skip, turn, step, padded against vast marble in a dream like haze, dancers lost in thought, feelings lost in time. Flying past the ivory silk drapes, alined underneath sweet cherubs and hanging spirals of gold, two dancers drifted through an endless melody. Skip, turn, step, carved into a moment far too worldly for either to understand, a moment they wished could last forever. Without the hearts to understand why, or why not, all was irrelevant. Shadows of feelings forced their ways through light touch, hand held hand as if it were made of a fragile porcelain, fearful and tentative of losing what little it held.

The smaller of the two leaned forward with every turn, lips poised in silence. His clumsy steps went unnoticed, uncertainty left unspoken. Blue looked to green as cowards look to traitors, saying all, saying nothing. Fingers laced through one another, pale upon paler skin interlaced like the binding of a corset, tightly bound.

"I won't break."

AN+Disclaimer: Square Enix owns both characters, and I don't even own dancing shoes! ;w; (Prompt me!)
