Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Job Switching" Enjoy and comment.
James and Percy are best friends who work together on Sir Topham Hatt's railway.
They both have different jobs. Percy pulls the mail train, and James pulls freight cars,
But one day, the friends were feeling bored.
"I wish we could switch jobs." said Percy.
"Yeah." replied James. "I've always wanted to pull the mail-train.
"Why don't we try each-other's jobs, to see what they're like?" suggested Percy.
James agreed to this idea, and so did the drivers.
Soon, James was coupled up to the mail-train, and Percy was coupled up to some freight cars.
And then, the two friends set off to do their jobs.
James raced across Sodor, delivering the mail to all the stations.
Everywhere he went, the mail-collectors were surprised to see him.
"Where is Percy?" they all said,
"We swapped jobs today." replied James.
James was making record-time with the mail-train.
And sooner than later, James was finished with delivering the mail.
Later, Percy was having trouble with the freight cars, who were being very foolish.
"Look at the silly little green engine." laughed the freight cars.
Percy had been taught before to ignore the freight cars, and that's exactly what he did.
Even though the freight cars were being foolish, Percy still managed all the freight cars where they were needed, and even shunted Edward's freight cars,
That night, Percy and James spoke about their day.
"I made record time with the mail train!" exclaimed James proudly.
Percy was very pleased with James.
"How was pulling the freight cars?"
"It was hard at first, but once I got used to it, it was easy!"
Even though Percy and James liked swapping jobs, they decided to go back to doing their regular jobs, just for now.
