THE PROPHECY: The boy whose heart is icy cold. The girl whose heart as pure as gold. The boy who kills for joy and pride, the woman whose generosity exceeds all and tells no lie. The woman who shall come to tame the prince. Together when union shall share true love's first kiss. Now the prophecy will come true, and behold amiss shall occur, for the evil prince's heart once cold, shall learn to love, when he loses that which he treasures most.
An 11 year old appearance version of Sesshomaru who stood at 4'6, has fair skin with pointy ears, golden eyes with slit pupils, and waist-length white hair with short bangs. He has a crescent moon on his forehead that could be seen beneath his bangs, two stripes on each cheek, and a magenta stripe on each eyelid. His kimono was cream colored and had leaf patterns, and he wore a blue sash belt. His only armor was around his left shoulder, which when damaged regenerated. The shoulder armor was made of a gray demon bone with an elliptical hoop with spikes on his right shoulder.
The Western Prince remained looking at one of the imps coldly cocking up his eyebrow. His face was rigid and cold trying to make sure he understood the news he was receiving correctly. "So you're telling this Sesshomaru that his father is now dead? Explain what happened?" demanded Sesshomaru leering his eyes deadly at the communicator. Inside a feudal era Japanese castle in the forests, lightening stroke behind him forcing his eyes to turn green with anger.
It was a dark stormy night in the Western Lands as Sesshomaru peered at the demon servants before him, angrily growling.
"We're-we're sorry my lord!" one of them panicked stepping back from fear. "We received the news fully just ourselves but his injuries…."
"He saw that HUMAN didn't he? The one with child? It is impossible even for Ryukotsusei to have completely defeated this Sesshomaru's father with how powerful he is," he expressed displeased.
"W-Well my Lord," the other imp said nervously, "We were told that he was already injured from another battle and went right into that fight prior and that was why."
Sesshomaru just blinked aridly, "Insolent fools!" he quickly turned around slicing them up with his long poisonous green whip. He moved in a perfect circle slicing them all into shredded pieces, their blood soaking into the soil from killing them all. The young Western Prince looked down at the dead body pieces before him that jiggled. One of the demoness maids who wore a blue kimono with a purple crescent moon carrying a large face of water started from panic of the terrible scene. Sesshomaru quickly used his whip to hit the face open spilling the water which seemed to dilute a lot of the blood staining the grass. Though some of the glass pieces got stuck into the maiden's hands, she screamed stepping back new blood dripped. One a few of the other maidens came to see what was happening they started to see their angered Lord, and quickly bowed deeply. He gave them unmoving looks and commanded, "Clean this filthy blood off the floor. Immediately. Less you meet the same fate as they."
He quickly walked past them and the girls nodded quickly, hurrying over to clean up the mess while the original maiden slowly and painfully pulled the glass from out of her hand. The girls got out large expensive silk rags petting the ground.
The Demon Lord gritted his teeth in irritation and anger as he walked out to the front grounds of the castle. Bitterness and hatred consuming his heart before he went up to a tree, falling onto the ground taking in the news completely and pounded the ground screaming in anger and from being distressed. "Father you are such a fool! This Sesshomaru has warned you already. He has told you to leave that human wench be. And now look what happens, someone of great superior and of power, dead from a much lesser enemy than you. It's just so pitiful," he growled agitated. "It wasn't even worth it, she won't even live in 30 years compared to the life you could have given this Sesshomaru and the rest of your Kingdom."
"Ah, Lord Sesshomaru, there you are," said a voice of greeting.
He quickly turned around with his hands glowing green to see a muscular demon that stood at 5'6. It nearly looked like an elf with a potato shaped head. There were thick lines that rolled on his forehead to show the wear of age on the demon, his cheeks were quite chubby and full of thinner lines and whiskers tanned with swamp colored skin. He had horns on both sides of his head, and his gray hair lies flat on the back of his head. Large beady eyes took on the strong features of this being, without even smiling the sharp points of his fangs were visible, that lye vertically parallel to the large snubbed pig like snout he had. He wore a black kimono top with onyx colored hakama pants. He had a grayish jacket made of a meld between cotton and some type of demon scales since there was somewhat of a shine to it. It hung on him like a vest jacket to show the cross of the kimono but both sides still tucked in the obi tie that was at the front. The shoulders shaped and then became pointy making a curvature triangle, the triangle that pointed out parallel of his shoulders and the curvature going from shoulder down to his chest meeting the rest of the thin line of the vest like jacket. There was a fire shape and 6 bones in the fire that created smoke on the design of both sides of the jacket.
"Geninji, why are you here? You were this Sesshomaru's Alpha were you not? Yet you let him perish?" he turned to him his eyes a looked like that of betrayal throwing a whip towards him.
The older demon moved over easily with it missing him and when it tried to hit his face again he tilted his head to the side and grabbed the whip with ease. "I know this is a very sensitive time for you young Lord Sesshomaru. But I did not abandon your father. He chose what he chose and there wasn't much I could do about it. Myoga and I had to tend to Lady Izayoi and Lord Inuyasha."
"Who?" Sesshomaru looked over, he knew Izayoi was the human but who was Inuyasha.
Geninji blinked, "You're new younger brother," he answered finally.
"That thing is NOT my brother, so that was why he died," Sesshomaru spoke acidly.
"If he would have not been there, Lord Inuyasha would have died. The human male smitten with her loved her but wanted to kill the demon inside, your father wouldn't have never allowed that. You see how protective of you he is. This child is of no difference," he explained.
"He is a half breed!" Sesshomaru snapped bitterly. "That makes plenty of difference. You had to stay to protect a worthless human who could do nothing for herself and a half breed. When you knew facing an enemy like Ryukotsusei that he would not return!"
Geninji sighed frowning, "I hoped he would have Lord Sesshomaru. However I could not disobey orders. I needed to watch after Izayoi and Myoga needed to take care of Inuyasha at least until he is old enough to be on his own. I created the robe of the fire rat for him to grow into as he gets older so he is always protected. I wanted to do that just in case it was a dying wish and it was an order. I didn't like it any more than you did. Though it seems when I found him and hide his grave, he was able to take down his enemy before dying from his wounds."
Sesshomaru scoffed in denial, the excuse was poor, his face stubborn as he tilted his head to the side, "This Sesshomaru sees, well now. What do you want, this Sesshomaru is not in the mood for anything unworthy of his time, as you have seen quiet so obviously already," the young prince said coldly revealing the scurrying servants that were rushing in panic from Sesshomaru's earlier murder rampage.
Geninji sighed, he did notice. He pitied the poor fools and wish his passing ally didn't have to give him the hard part. Though he understood because at Sesshomaru's age now, as strong as he is, he would be the only one to handle and survive his out lashes of tantrums. "My Lord, I am sorry to have disturbed you at such an inappropriate time as this. But I have come to inform you of your father's documented inheritance my lord," he said. Sesshomaru looked in his direction out of curiosity and walked over to him. The imp pulled out a large scroll handing it to Sesshomaru.
"Geninji. What exactly does this say?"
"It is the deed sir. You are now the next in the Inu blood line to be King of the Western Lands, my prince." Geninji gestured a humbled bow beside him out of respect. "As such you lead this country of the Western Domain in your hands, and I am to be your advisor until you become of age to uptake the place of responsibility your father once held."
Sesshomaru's face became perplexed holding onto the scroll. "This Sesshomaru does not understand. For a while this Sesshomaru has always known that this land would be inherited his after his father passed. If this Sesshomaru's title is King, then why is it Geninji that you still label him as 'prince' instead of King?"
"You see my Lord, you are not yet considered a king unless you are married to a Lady. Nonetheless and make no mistake, you still have all the responsibilities as if King, these responsibilities that were once King InuTaisho's of course," replied Geninji.
"Humph." The Western Prince merely turned around angrily. "My father died a senseless death. And what of this estranged younger brother, Inuyasha?"
"They don't know where he is my Lord, but we figure he is still somewhere in the Western Lands with his human birth mother." Geninji placed both arms behind his back replying attentively to his new Lord.
Sesshomaru closed his eyes, he could care less. Outside of that knowing Geninji even if he did know, it's not like the information would be relayed to him. The Western Prince then looked up to the sky as if searching for more answers that stubbornly remained hidden. His eyes partially opened and looked in Geninji's direction, "If such is the case then this Sesshomaru will not waste his energy searching for something that does not belong. Inuyasha will learn to fend for himself, or die in the process," he said dryly walking off. He clenched his fists angered and growling with fury and murmured lividly, "Humans. My first order will be to dispose of them all."
"I'm afraid that's not possible my prince," countered Geninji simply.
"What?! Why not?" the dog demon turned back so quickly Geninji easily-obviously used to dealing with the young Lord's temper-jumped back from the onslaught of his long fur that would have otherwise became a whip lash.
Geninji then explained standing up straight, boldly facing Sesshomaru with a serious facial expression. "Your father was specifically sure that you'd try something like that and made a bond that doesn't make it possible for any prince of the Western royal blood in the future to ever touch the humans of this land. So the humans of the land are safe."
"Father. You fool!" Sesshomaru roared angrily quickly slicing down a whole acre of trees with his poisonous claws out of frustration. "Even after death you still somehow find compassion among these fragile humans. They are nothing but a nuisance with no value held to this Sesshomaru. Father you are the embarrassment of our family line, blemishing it. Now I have to live with that print. He's the only one that has ever did something so tragic in our once pure blood line." He just could not understand, protecting humans accomplished nothing.
After a few moments of silence, Geninji slowly walked except a mere few feet away from Sesshomaru and spoke with reason, "You know my Lord, don't you think that perhaps it is possible that King InuTaisho could love the human woman more than that of your mother. She is-for a human woman, quiet extravagant."
"I didn't ask your opinion!" he snapped growling turning to him. The Inu Prince then sighed heavily and mumbled grimly, "It matters not any longer. What's done in the past is already done. And now we must move on." Sesshomaru turned back around beginning to walk off. Geninji merely chuckled and Sesshomaru paused in his stride to turn his direction with a cock to his left eyebrow of interest. "Find something amusing about all of this, Geninji?"
Geninji held up the palm of his hand to show the Western Prince he meant no harm or insult of the situation. "Oh no, no, my Lord. I'm just laughing at my old memory," the imp demon searched inside his kimono fumbling inside and he held up one finger to gesture the dog demon to wait a moment, "I have one last thing to give you so that I may fulfill all of your father's wishes," he said walking over to him and finally pulled out a large cloth in his hand that was extremely long.
At first, Sesshomaru took it and lightly weighed it raising an eyebrow with interest yet confusion underlined his eyebrows all the same. "A weapon?" he mumbled confused looking in Geninji's direction.
Geninji smiled, "Perhaps, unravel it and see for yourself. It was meant to be passed on to you should your father be met with destruction."
Sesshomaru blinked and began to slowly unwrap the cloth. His father held two powerful swords created by Totosai. One was a weaker sword, the Tenseiga of Life, and the other was the much stronger sword that his father normally used often that held great power and destruction. It was a blade that cut, the Tessaiga. Was he finally going to be given the powerful sword that belonged to his father?
Once the demon prince unraveled it, his anticipation quickly dropped into a quick grimace as he lifted up the skinny sword and gave Geninji a death glower. "The Tenseiga? Tell this Sesshomaru that this is a joke right? It's an incomplete sword it doesn't even cut."
Geninji shook his head walking up to him, arms returned behind his back as he hunched over. "Oh I'm afraid it's not a joke my Lord. Your father has rested in your hands the Tenseiga of Life. He believes you will need it. For one day like him, you may need protect the ones you love. He seen this sword fit more for you than the Tessaiga."
"Humph!" he said quickly throwing the sword onto the ground stepping on it and then turned around walking off. "This Sesshomaru has no use for such nonsense of a sword. This Sesshomaru doesn't need that one he needs the Tessaiga. For the only concern that this Sesshomaru will be protecting is that of his own wellbeing. No other."
"But my Lord," Geninji spoke raising a finger trying to reason with the young prince.
Sesshomaru stopped suddenly and said, "No more, do you understand? My father must have confused this Sesshomaru for being a hopeless fool. This Sesshomaru does not require such things. All of his life he has desired power. And now, my father dares not give this Sesshomaru the Tessaiga which is known to cut, but the Tenseiga instead? He deserved the death he did if he truly was not in his right mind."
"But my Lord, look!" warned Geninji pointing to the fallen sword behind them.
Sesshomaru looked down at the Tenseiga and his eyes expanded in awe as it shined a powerful dark green aura of high intensity. It lifted into the air pointing directly at Sesshomaru, a large blue orb appeared from it. Then, both the sword and the orb fell onto the ground and all was silent. The wind ominously blew across the vastness of the land. A small slit then appeared across Sesshomaru's hand. Without reacting, Sesshomaru watched as his hand began to bleed slowly as the wind blew once more carrying the blood to the sword on the ground. The sword then glowed red and quickly, Sesshomaru was electrocuted with 50,000 voltage. He screamed in pain falling to the ground. Then, he weakly sat up and looked at the Tenseiga before him in anger.
"Geninji, what the-what the hell is going on here?" asked Sesshomaru weakly panting clenching his chest, he felt his heart speed increase from the strong jolt of the electricity as the clouds became more ominously thicker in darkness with an underlying turquoise outlined from the clouds that suddenly galloped across the skies, and the storm that was there earlier was now nonexistent. The wind picked up as it wisped Sesshomaru's hair around his shoulders as he looked up to examine the strange change in weather, it was obvious that something was happening. But what?
"It is part of the ceremony my Lord. Because you denied the Tenseiga your father has set this up to happen. It is a parting gift if you will," smiled Geninji meekly waiting expectant, his head was already looked up in the direction toward the incoming clouds that carried turquoise colored lightening forming a strange body formed shape.
"What? This is ludicrous," The dog demon roared outraged as his eyes expanded from the shock.
Then, the blue orb began to glow, and from the ball a pure turquoise light burst from it. And inside the light burst into the clouds helping the shape of the clouds to take its full shape forming the hologram of King InuTaisho in a large figure looking down on both Sesshomaru and Geninji. Sesshomaru's expression was both shocked and confused. King InuTaisho looked exactly like Sesshomaru in every feature, only his armor was different, and his hair was in a long pony tail, he looked prominent and strong with red triangles decorated across his jaw with tan skin. He had the appearance of a mid-thirty year old being. InuTaisho dressed similarly to his son Sesshomaru, in that he wore a white kimono and hakama, armored boots, and a long flowing sash, with the latter two suggestive of Chinese influence. He has a breastplates, with a spiked rim, with the addition of Chinese armbraces and armored gauntlets, as well as layered spiked pauldron on each shoulder. He wears a parted pelt that extends from both shoulders and trails behind him as he walks; representing the two streaks of fur running down the back of his yokai form. His white hair is only seen in a very high ponytail. The Tessaiga and Tenseiga normally worn at his waist, was not present, meaning the Tessaiga was placed elsewhere hidden away from him. What was there was his father's trusted sword, the So'unga, worn across his back.
King InuTaisho's face filled out with pride as he looked down at Sesshomaru carrying a smug smile. "Ah, my son. So I see I was correct," he closed his eyes as if meditating and shook his head, "Even after my departure, you still have yet to have a change of heart on too much of anything these days since our many conversations-yet not one has once anything I've spoken to you. Has pierced through your thick barrier of misconceptions in your opinion. Even so, still you decide to reject the Tenseiga I have gifted you," said InuTaisho opening his eyes peering down at him seriously.
Sesshomaru glared and sat up, "Then tell this Sesshomaru, father, does this 'gift' you so call yourself giving me as an heirloom to your eldest son, you find as some sick twist of amusement? For what reason would this Sesshomaru have to possess this invaluable weapon that only knows how to heal and not destroy? Give it to that bastard son of yours, with that human you've mated with-for he will most likely have a much softer heart than THIS Sesshomaru. This Sesshomaru is pretty sure that half breed will have feelings enough to want to save someone to, as you would call it, "protect"," spoke Sesshomaru coldly in detest, eyes narrowed. "I want the Tessaiga." He said boldly.
"I have different and separate plans for your brother Sesshomaru, but that is irrelevant to now and to you also. Perhaps not now, but one day. You will have someone to protect, and that is the person you will come to love. You are still young and both ignorant and arrogant. Therefore, I do not yet expect you to understand what I mean at this point," explained InuTaisho patiently.
"All the same, Father. As this Sesshomaru has stated earlier: This Sesshomaru protects no one, and this Sesshomaru cannot love. He will merely find a vixen to carry on our proud bloodline but that will be all there is to it. He will not be so foolish as to desecrate our royal Inu blood," his eyes grew hollow and colder and said bitterly, "Not like you did. It seems even you were indecisive at a time you cannot possibly hope the same for your own son."
"Indeed I do. The situation made me indecisive but not the woman. You are as arrogant as the rest of the family clan I see, that much is certain," King InuTaisho folded his arms so that his kimono lye gently on the ever moving clouds as his hair moved side to side with the wind. He then said without reaction to what his son said, "You have too much pride in where you come from. And now I shall teach and show you, that sometimes kindness and love, can have you reach limitations beyond that of your own that will remain untapped as long as you continue to fight under the power of pride and selfishness. Until you have someone you care about in danger. Or something of importance, your strength will never grow to the extent that you wish it to, Sesshomaru. This is the secret behind even my own strength and power outside of just blood alone if power is what you seek. You cannot gain power and not expect to trade anything in return for obtaining that power. Ironically that trade is weakness, and you seem to want all the benefits but not the disadvantages that goes with it. Life does not work this way."
"Tch. Well Father This Sesshomaru is not interested in arguing with our impassive views from your grave. We have had this same debate for as long as you were alive and even in your death it's obvious that we cannot come on the same common ground to agree with one another. Let us not continue this even in the afterlife shall we? Now, what do you want, surely you did not put all of this together simply for such a useless conversation."
King InuTaisho narrowed his eyes with warning, but Sesshomaru did not flinch. It was obvious that his son had long lost respect for his father and the fear he put among many. The great dog demon then uncrossed his arms and held out his hands toward his son and gained the same careless cold look that was identical to Sesshomaru. Whatever was written on his father's face, it was obvious he had asserted a decision the King was sure he wouldn't regret at this point. "Have it your way son. As per your failure, you will be placed under a spell. From this day until the prophecy is fulfilled you will only have enough power to protect yourself and others should the time accumulate."
"What!" Sesshomaru barked argumentatively.
King InuTaisho ignored him and continued, and without falter spoke, "You will be as strong and as worthless as the original form of the sword in which you've abused. Until you learn Sesshomaru, to appreciate the quality and not the appearance of things, you will never fulfill this prophecy. You will still have your speed, but you will not be able to fly any longer from this day forward, and no longer will you be allowed to keep your poisonous whip effect. However I will allow you to keep your poisonous claws and your senses. But that is all. Your attacks will be as effective as that of a half breed demon such as the brother you so despise."
"You can't do this!" Sesshomaru growled angrily, the outer iris that was once white was now a pinkish red. His iris and pupil were a light blue-green color, the young Inu's claws extended from fury.
"I just did," InuTaisho chastised narrowing his eyes. The King of the Western Lands lifted up his index fingers, which turned blue and the young Inu prince was electrocuted as his yokai energy emitted from his body into the sky. His father held out his hand forming into a ball as Sesshomaru bellowed screaming, and writhing on the ground. The power ball of cloud formed in InuTaisho's hand he then released as it flowed like a river current right inside the Tenseiga glowing taking in Sesshomaru's powers, Lord InuTaisho continued. Although his face was compassionate and somber as he continued over his son's screams of pain, "Until you learn kindness son, until you learn something more important than your pride, until you learn something more important than your heritage, something more important than yourself. Then you do not deserve this great power that has been blessed upon you and your blood."
Geninji stood off afar just watching as the electric wave finally ceased after a few more minutes. Sparks of turquoise electricity spurs off of Sesshomaru's cotton made kimono that was now partially ripped and tethered. There was a large hole in the fabric revealing the dark bruises on his back. The ripped clothes opening to reveal his chest in the front, and on the left the fabric from the shoulders torn off to reveal the bruises of red and rashes across his arms. His hands twitched from the impact barely moving. Sesshomaru weakly sat up with scratches and bruises on his face. He then stood limped over to the side breathing hard, his vision was halfway blurry as he looked up at his father and smiled bitterly holding on tightly to his left arm shaking.
"You-you-you're wasting your time, Father," Sesshomaru responded. King InuTaisho raised his eyebrow at his son's impudence but made no notion to respond. The Western Prince's bangs covered his facial expression, fangs barred as he shook and glared angrily up at his father with a tasteless smile as if fighting with his pride to make a point, "This Sesshomaru will never break himself down to be so weak Father! This Sesshomaru will kill over and die first before he can ever care for a human being. Much less go the degree that you have!"
"Then so shall that be your fated end my son. Then so shall that be your fated end," He closed his eyes meditating but his facial expression was still calm. He opened his eyes back up and continued as he stretched out his arm in the direction of the levitating weapon, "So now that you and the Tenseiga have officially met your charge is to take care of it, which will be in your better interest. Besides an heirloom, the Tenseiga is now also your power life line. But precaution my son. Power can only be kept inside of an item for so long, and as it becomes stronger and stronger as the years pass. At one point, there will be a year that that power will decline and the power inside the Tenseiga will begin to lose your power's strength and it will become weaker until it completely vanishes until nothing of it is left. If the point in your powers are reached then my son, you shall never receive your powers back. You have exactly five centuries until the power inside that sword starts to decline. And when it starts to decline, it will do so quickly. So much so, that perhaps even by the end of that year, there will be no more power left within it."
"What is this, a spell or a damn curse?!" shouted Sesshomaru furiously as if there was some type of injustice.
His father merely looked at him and closed his eyes patiently smiling turning around. "Geninji, now."
Geninji smiled nodding walking up to Sesshomaru as he then cleared his throat and began to speak, his large acorn eyes looking at him. Sesshomaru looked in his eyes as he began to become hypnotized, the Inu demon's eyes glowing a mystic turquoise color, his crescent moon on his forehead also taking shape the same colors. His body poured off a yellow glowing aura as Sesshomaru became overcome from the spell. Geninji's eyes was also overcome with the same auras around his body and eyes.
"Now, hear this my prince," Geninji said seriously in an oracle twang. His voice then became low and mystic-almost as if a song, but an eerie song of warning, "The boy whose heart is icy cold. The girl whose heart as pure as gold. The boy who kills for joy and pride, the woman whose generosity exceeds all and tells no lie. The woman who shall come to tame the prince. Together when union, shall share true love's first kiss. Now the prophecy will come true, and behold amiss shall occur. For the evil prince's heart once cold, shall learn to love, when he loses that which he treasure most."
Sesshomaru's lips curled contently as the spell absorbed inside his body, where he was finally free to move and be released from the hypnosis incredulously, and then he stated, "A woman? Tame this Sesshomaru?" He turned to the great dog warrior in the sky, eyebrow raised with regard, "Father as amusing as this game is, it sounds interesting."
"Is that so, Sesshomaru?" replied King InuTaisho.
Sesshomaru's face that was once angered, reeled back into its normal calmness of indifference. He shrugged, "Tch. This Sesshomaru will be willing to take you up on it. All of it is nonsense to him. However for your little game of honoring your death unfortunately for you it'll never come to pass, you should know this if you don't by now. So this Sesshomaru will warn you not to raise your expectations."
"Mind your tongue Sesshomaru. Just remember," warned InuTaisho who turned his body halfway around to look at him. "Whose blood you have in your veins. You cannot doubt what is uncertain in the future based on what you have yet to know the knowledge of."
"This Sesshomaru just knows this if nothing else," he narrowed his eyes, determination in his facial features without backing down, "He will never be like you."
King InuTaisho nearly chuckled at this and Geninji frowned but he maintained a quirked smirk on the opposite end of his lips looking back up at his old companion to see his response-though with centuries fighting loyally beside him he had a feeling he knew what his response would be. He knew how much he loved Izayoi.
Sesshomaru's facial expression showed no amusement but insult, and thinning of patience. When InuTaisho calmed down he turned to his son, his features softened but strong. "Fair enough my son, I agree," Sesshomaru's expression showed surprise at this, it was the first thing they agreed on throughout the whole conversation. "But here is my response to you," the Dog Demon King held up a finger and pure wisdom etched across his features as he too became calm and showed a knowing expression. "I beseech you Sesshomaru. That no, do not be like me. But be better than I, for hopefully you can do a better job than I did protecting the treasure I had. When you find her, do better in protecting her, than I did protecting mine. If there is one thing I will agree with, there was no point in sacrificing your life for a love to protect them without maintaining your own life. If you can protect her life and still maintain your own, you will have then far surpassed the capabilities of what I was able to do, my son," he smiled soberly. His eyes had looked extremely sad.
The light then disappeared and the ball that was on the ground burned by itself into ashes flowing away in the dust of wind. The dark clouds dissipated returning back from whence it came and the wind slowed down to normal. The rain that had its long pause, began to pour with rain again, as if King InuTaisho himself gave his last mourning.
Geninji's lips quirked with fondness, "So long old friend." It was the exact response he expected of him.
Sesshomaru, though with struggle, limped over to the Tenseiga that had fallen to the ground where he stepped on it. He knelt down picking it up and examined the turquoise and gold power consuming the weapon that he recognized was his own demonic energy. He narrowed his eyes, but they softened with self-pity and disappointment. That was not the farewell he expected to have with his father. But it didn't matter, they would always be on opposing sides, even in his own death. It was strange, because his father being dead, when it came to conversations seemed no different than when he was talking to his father while he was alive. It seemed their views and walks of the world would always be on separate dimensions, and it was time he grew up to accept that now.
His clenched fists shook with anger, "To have such useless weight on this Sesshomaru is beyond that of his understanding. But this Sesshomaru knows his father means business," He gripped the handle on the Tenseiga tightly and turned to his father's old time ally and called, "Geninji," the Alpha demon looked from out of the sky to receive his orders attentively as Sesshomaru placed the Tenseiga at his waist in the very similar fashion his father used to, "Come, let us go back to the castle." A small cloud then formed under his feet slowly lifting him up. Then, the clouds sparse from where it began and refused to form, becoming a light steam and the Western Prince's feet fell back to the ground barely lifting two inches before retouching the earth.
Sesshomaru's eyebrows coiled in confusion and Geninji explained walking up beside him. "Let us not forget my Lord, the great demon king has taken away your power of open free flight. It's pretty impressive even that much of your cloud form came out," reminded Geninji.
The Western Prince lifted up his hands watching as the dark poisonous strong bright neon green aura that was once around his hands flow like a channeled river. Now ceased in flow, becoming stagnant, and slow in current with a more lime tinted color. A more faded green aura replaced the once vibrant green color, yet it dimmed moment by moment as he watched the process until finally out of his own free will, the green poisonous aura disappeared completely. No matter how hard he tried to force the power back out, it never returned.
If the Inu demon had a response he did not reveal it in his features except that of interest in the whole mechanics of the spell. As if they were new rules he had to learn and he himself had to adjust. Geninji watched Sesshomaru closely as he looked back at the Tenseiga which shined a strong turquoise and gold melded aura around the weapon.
"Hmm, even from the grave father. Your powers are still so extravagant. For this Sesshomaru did not expect for your spell to work this swiftly. It's a shame such power had to be wasted, for it makes your death even more depressing and pathetic. And all for that human," thought Sesshomaru in detest. He closed his eyes sighing, it was more of a bother if nothing else.
"Fine," Sesshomaru said with resolve gripping the handle of the Tenseiga looking ahead, but the undertone of his voice revealed that he was clearly more aggravated, "Then we will go on foot." He brusquely walked off leaving Geninji behind for the assisting demon to catch up to watch the prince from afar in distance with curiosity.
After blinking a few moments, Geninji just smiled following behind the Western Lord. He then stopped and looked up at the sky smiling. "Well done my closest ally, King InuTaisho, well done. I will hold up my end of your will as well, and watch over your son."
Not noticing nor caring how far Geninji trailed behind, the demon alpha was more than capable of taking care of himself. The Demon Lord mused to himself. "Heh," mumbled Sesshomaru as he neared the castle. "Fall in love with a woman huh? Not possible. It almost sounds amusing to this Sesshomaru. To think, he said woman instead of mistress. Do not tell this Sesshomaru that my father would even be a bigger fool to mean that that prophecy foretold me falling for a human, you're not clever Father. Your chances of me falling for a demoness are higher." Sesshomaru then chuckled and began to laugh. "Father, after all these years and you still have yet to know this Sesshomaru. What human can possibly take this Sesshomaru's heart before killing them on site?"
FIVE CENTURIES LATER...
A much more grown up and mature Sesshomaru shot up out of his bed waking up and looked over at the curtains to see the sun was high past the position of noon. He then sighed from relief and laid back down looking up at the ceiling to be left with his thoughts of the dream he just had. Sweat poured from his head that he washed away from the palm of his hand from the hot sun. The Western prince was shirtless with an athletic body type. He lied in a large, what modern day we would call a King size bed. It had a simple style of wood under it that was about a few inches from the ground. Outside of that was a shiny more square over all shaped boarder around the main wood that held up the bed in an elevating manner. The wood was made of soft woods. At the foot of the bed was a wooden end. There were six large curvature square carved into them to reveal the bed on the other side and six small skinny columns. At the very top the wood smoothed and there were three small stories that curved up, resembling the shape of feudal era castle roofs. The same design was at the head of the bed as well. Large pillows of many easily decorated the head of the bed where he lies, and there were four pillars with silk curtains on each side to cover him, enough not to be seen from the outside, though he could see out.
The walls were intricately designed with simple gold and turquoise colored designed wall paper and simple woods. The floor itself that had white mats had bordered rich wood going across it in square and diamond shape designs. There was a light wooded dresser besides him that held two rectangular wide and thick drawers. On top were old lit candles that were once burned. Ahead was another wooden paper door that led to another room but for the time being it was closed. And there was another door partially opened that led to outside where he had a balcony. Then there was another door, upon as Sesshomaru sat up, he heard a small knock.
"What is it?" he replied turning to the direction of the door.
The door slid partially opened a bit with a slight creak, "My Lord, it's time," came in a small green kappa type demon, with a beak shaped like a bird bowing. The imp servant stood short at two feet and seven inches. He had a big mouth for one so small, and large yellow eyes that took up almost half his face. His mouth was similar to a bird's beak, and his ears were traditionally pointy. He wore a simple brown top and light-brown pants. He wore no shoes, and had a small black hat upon his head. His hat was tied in place with a white strap going under his chin. He had on a dark brown kimono and teal colored hakama pants. There was a split on both shoulders of the kimono top and with it was a black emperor hat on top of his head strapped to the sides of his face, tiny pointy ears and carried the staff of two heads.
The weapon looks like the name it was given. On half of the top of the staff, sat the head of an old man, and on the other, sat the head of a once-beautiful woman. Although, it seemed the beautiful woman was more of an old woman with silky black hair. The staff was taller than the imp itself. The female with a potato shaped head with long black hair, bangs short but parted deeply in the middle with two beads on both separate sides of the upper shape of the woman's forehead. Her hair wrapped around most of the head portion of the staff. On the other side, an old man with a gray beard. Bald head but gray hair at the very back of its head as well. Both the old man and the woman's eyes for now were closed, and the kappa demon had large featured eyes that covered the majority of his face as well. His voice was raspy, but squeaky.
"Very well, Jaken. This Sesshomaru will be there momentarily," said Sesshomaru without looking at him as he pulled the covers from over himself.
"Yes my Lord!" Jaken replied automatically rushing out of the room sliding the door closed.
Sesshomaru walked out onto his balcony looking at the blazing sun, he then pulled out the Tenseiga from where it rested against the wall beside his dresser and began examining it. The sword was glowing a bright yellow aura color now, and Sesshomaru's facial expression flinched with a little concern.
His eyes sharpened and he clenched his hands against the handle of the sword. "Damn you Father. Even after all these years everything you've warned has come to pass. And already does this Sesshomaru feel his powers which are locked inside the Tenseiga fading. This Sesshomaru must find a way to make it last longer than now," he thought gripping the handle tighter.
THE WESTERN Lord then turned around and opened the large wooden fancy door walking out into the grand hall that lye out in all shiny red wood. Openings were all over the castle covered with plastic glass to protect from the wind to freely blow through. Even for the feudal era, it almost looked like a present day mansion. They had burnt colored wood, so shiny, Sesshomaru's reflection reflected from it. Each paper room, of thinly wooden boarders of sliding doors were passed as he made his way down each level of the castle. There were large paper lanterns the size of chandeliers that held the Inu colors of gold and turquoise, moon and crescent moon, kanji symbols of power, west, and Inu (which means dog) that spun in place as Sesshomaru walked under them. Besides the paper walls, there was something different about them. There were intricate paintings across the walls and even on the vases and other furniture of decoration in the castle that told of the Inu heritage. From the wall to the very boarder carvings of the wood that boarded the paper wall. Statues of dogs, dragons, and long ancient scrolls, and maps were everywhere.
With a 19 year old appearance, Sesshomaru stood in height at 5'11, wearing his usual white kimono top with matching white hakama pants. The Western Lord is handsome, tall and a slender young male with an athletic body type build. His skin is fair with pointy ears, golden eyes with slit pupils, and waist-length white hair with short bangs. He has a dark iris-purple colored crescent moon on his forehead that could be seen beneath his bangs, two cranberry colored triangle stripes on each cheek, and a magenta stripe on each eyelid. There are two extra triangular stripes on his wrist-forearm of the same color.
Sesshomaru's armor included a spiked pauldron that covered his left shoulder attached to the upper section of his cuirass and "lotus petal" faults. When damaged, the armor automatically regenerated itself using demonic energy. Both his armor and his long flowing sash had a decided Chinese influence, as opposed to the customary Japanese armor and obi. His kimono was mostly white with a red and white cherry blossom flower crest at the collar and sleeves, showing that he was of royal birth. He wore sashinuki hakama which were gathered at the ankles, producing a "ballooning" effect. His footwear consisted of black ankle-high boots, also reminiscent of Chinese influence. On his right shoulder was his mokomoko-sama, the fur and tail of his true form which he retained in his humanoid form.
The red accents on the boarder hem of the kimono that crossed going past his neck and designed on the broader hems of the long thick sleeves that paired off three white circles in the designs. Over that he wore his thick onyx colored armor that was acorn shaped going around his body stretching to protect his upper and lower mid legs if need be, until it led to the main armor that shaped around his chest. Placing that together was a large cloth burned gold obi to tie the piece together in a straight tight knot, designs with thick and thin purple squiggles aligned on top of the other. On the side were the two swords he held close to him, the Tenseiga which had a purple handle with gold accents being protected within its sheath, and the Tokijin, which was the red handle-open sword in no sheath. Slightly above his chest and across one of his shoulders was a large thick spiky boarder of extra armor for protection around this area too. His large thick fur tail rested on his left shoulder and trailed all the way down to the back of his left foot where he wore his dark navy blue toe pointed shoes. The triangles were long thin across both side of his cheek, the point of the triangle paralleled to his bottom of his pupil, and his crescent moon.
The Demon Lord stood in front of the great hall exit door, Jaken in front of him as large stone steps came down from the entrance that elevated lower and lower by the step from the larger hill down from beyond the gate. This was because his castle was on large rocks that sat the castle up high in case of any battles. Overhead he saw many important officials that he recognized as a part of the organization. He couldn't believe he had to go 500 years of prep to finally fully seize control over his father's inheritance to prove he was ready to handle the responsibility. This was more than owed to him. There were demons and humans alike that were waiting across the grounds for him to step out. The granite made path for him to walk across once came into his view from the height of the stone made stairs as he walked lower level to lower before reaching the path. The amount present was what he couldn't estimate in his mind.
When he looked on the ground to the left he saw humans, demons, and recognized the four eldest and powerful officials he recognized from the UDGR-including his own grand sire, whose name was Inugami, whom represented the West. He was much taller in height, about 6'3. His hair was much thicker and ankle length over his shoulder. His skin was very tan, and like the Inu demon tribe he had pure cherry-red eyes. He had two thick sapphire colored jagged striped going from his much pointier ear almost reaching alignment perpendicular to his nose. His armor and kimono style was that very similar to the deceased InuTaisho. He too had many of the Chinese influence style of clothing. He had on a stone ring with the western crest and his appearance of his early 50s. His body build was much broader, and he actually did have a body build type. On his forehead was a sapphire colored paw mark with a red moon in the middle. On both shoulders his tails wrapped around both shoulders and the third on draped like a sash. He walked barefoot but you saw the dog-like paw and the fur on top of it. His armor was much thicker and fancier compared to that of InuTaisho and Sesshomaru. His face was very firm and one could sense power overwhelmingly from his very disposition. Though Sesshomaru will not admit it aloud, it was that sort of power that intimidated him. The male held three swords at his waist and two more at his back. He was dressed in celebrated occasion in a fancy higher officer kimono of the representation of the UDGR for the West. He had thick red fabric in the same style of Sesshomaru and InuTaisho to tie his hakama pants up.
When their eyes met the higher ranked demon smirked and nodded disappearing back into the crowd to engage in another conversation with another diplomat he recognized was the UDGR representative of the Southern Domain. The Western Prince then looked to his right and saw the same thing, even up ahead he saw the crowded audience stretched a good ways out from what seemed beyond the walls of his own castle.
When he looked over to the other part that stretched from his castle, one could see the towering rocks that lifted the other building that was a part of the castle. There were four that circled the very main one he was coming out of. Each raised by high rocks and gravel, and connected by a bridge with wooden edges. They were all like miniature pagodas. It reached two floors, the roofs were a dark, almost turquoise color. There were four sets per three slits of windows on the first floor, and four larger square windows on the second floor. Then at the very top where it narrowed the roofs carried more of a temple like influence of the more inward curvature shape, almost a bamboo like design for the top that were roof shutters and stuck pointing out to the side, and another roof protruded out for a more 3-D effect, and there you saw from the original building it protruded from, were two separate windows on each side.
This building was the same on all four sides of the main castle that Sesshomaru was coming from out of. When he looked to the left and right of those buildings he saw some of his servants sticking their heads out the windows proudly. Some even sitting on the roof to watch, and many others crowding the bridge.
The Western Prince's eyes looked to the side to see a familiar crow demoness from the bridge who lifted up her thumb and smirked nodding. On both sides of her from the shadows of the crowd surrounding the two did he see an orange-red hair demoness with fire that was like that of a Phoenix but with soft features. Besides her was another demoness who had black, light green, turquoise, and purple rainbow highlighted colored peacock hair. Feathers revealed from the long length, but in the face the woman's face was stern like a warrior, but held challenge for the love of battle. Her features were sharp and cocky and resting on her shoulder was a sword she had gripped by its handle. The demoness smiled broadly at Sesshomaru with pride for her new prince coming to order as she leaned precariously over the wooden ledge from the bridge they all stood on to try to get a better view due to the heavy crowd for such a special occasion.
Taken from distraction was Jaken who had called Sesshomaru back to attention. "Are you ready my Lord?" Jaken asked.
When he turned back to the crow demoness and her crew whom all nodded, Sesshomaru returned the gesture, then responded to Jaken attentively. "Yes, Makato and the other Retainers are in position, and from what's signaled it appears that neither of them see any danger in it just yet, or they don't seem to expect to. All should go smoothly, unless a creature wants to be a fool."
Jaken merely nodded and finally opened the gate as the outside chatter began to silence. Outside stood demons of many royal families that had traveled from Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western, Central, and even those that owned the boarders that served as boundary between all of the directions. Diplomats of each division, subdivision, and boarders along with their own siblings, mistresses, and some even offspring were present along with the other three members of the UDGR to go and recognize Sesshomaru's place in the government and title. Tribes, humans, and demons alike with their leaders of representation, and those that were of even poorer class as well as upper, including the humans of these social separations. Is where everyone gathered there surrounding both sides of the castle just as he saw from behind the gate. For in the middle lied a granite made road for just Sesshomaru alone to walk on. It was as if all of the Western Domain human, leaders, officials, tribes, and demons alike had all come to pay Sesshomaru his tribute of recognition.
"Everyone show some respect! I present to you, demons and humans of the Western Lands alike. For officials that have traveled far and wide! After 500 years since King InuTaisho's death, this ceremony of inauguration establishes Lord Sesshomaru in place as officially taking the torch of responsibility over from our deceased King over the Western Lands to new establishments in place..."
"Jaken get on with it," Sesshomaru murmured snappily. He hated dressy introductions.
"Oh!" Jaken coward back from being chastised, eyes swerved in his direction not realizing how overboard he was going, and sweat dropped, "Uh um, right, sorry my Lord," he cleared his throat throwing his hands in Sesshomaru's direction from the exit door, "Prince Sesshomaru of the Western Domain!"
Everyone applauded, cheered, until finally as if practiced, they all simultaneously dropped to their knees and bowed as Sesshomaru began to walk down the steps and out onto the isle, alone with no security outside of the crow demoness and her other female crew who watched the crowed carefully.
From the walls of a corner hid another female demoness with crow feathers resting atop the left roof of the western house of the miniature pagoda building that was a part of Sesshomaru's castle. Her eyes softening with ill intent and she smirked seductively, disappearing back into the shadows. Though she was not a threat, for of course, no one dared to attack the great Lord Sesshomaru with his magnificent powers.
AS Sesshomaru walked towards the end of the isle pass the large temple influence designed gate that also had the same matching turquoise blue top that connected all the bridges together. Sesshomaru kept straight, most of the officials he nodded to all bowed at an angle but not as humbly as the other lower beings to show their equal influence of power. The faces he equally recognized and knew the names of them all, but they all blurred as he was trying his best to get through the boring ceremony as swiftly as possible, but with pace so that he did not seem too rude and too rushed. Each time he came in contact with a member of the UDGR he made sure to bow lower than they did to him out of respect of their placement in the demonic government as well. In the direction of a great childhood ally whom was a kitsune demon, stood out front along the isles like the other Domain rulers, Sesshomaru recognized the daiyokai ally and gave an underlying smug smile. The allied demon smiled haughtily revealing his unnaturally long and toothy fang in their playful rivalry, and nodded justly in his direction to signify, 'it's about time!'.
This ally was more than familiar with Sesshomaru's situation and fight at reigning and maintaining his position, power, and influence. He had his own turn taking on the ceremony when he secured his father's throne 458 years ago. And with all the crazy episodes Naraku plagued over the Western Land, he did more of his part protecting the territory. Though considering Naraku was problematic, he knew he needed to find a way to rid him for good if Inuyasha and his group could not. Now that he had his responsibility he would be handling more dangerous and diplomatic missions that he'd rather not find Naraku being the root of. It was the only thing his grandsire allowed him to do and maintain while he traveled the land in order to fight the stronger yokai among the lands to get more powerful for this day. Now it was finally here.
As the envy of it all, watching all the other offspring like his ally take power from their parents to be the next generation over the domains while their parents became inducted into the UDGR, was greatly irritating and he felt belittled. All because of the mark InuTaisho left mating with that human, he was innocently black-balled behind his back and he knew it. Although, Sesshomaru's one ally stuck by his side all these centuries. The kitsune male with the same 19 year old appearance as Sesshomaru, had been childhood allies and rivals for many centuries since young. Their domains were the best allies in all of the compassed domain territories for the past 1000 years, even going back to his own grand sire and Sesshomaru's grand sire's generation, and this still did not change in the UDGR. He and Sesshomaru were a lot alike, and had assisted and supported each other's endeavors throughout the centuries of the continued territorial relationship and on a true friend basis though it's never said nor admitted. Though it's been shown from both sides the other's preference in association to the other's company. He was finally proud Sesshomaru was able to hold his own position for this induction ceremony to install him in power as officially being the King of the Western Lands, or at least a prince until he managed to install an official mate. Overall besides territory relations, just themselves in personality interaction in general had always been very amicable.
The handsome fox demon was lithe and a tall 5'9 and a quarter whose short auburn hair that had natural highlights of orange and beige. He had an athletic body build however his chest, stomach and arm muscles were more defined compared to Sesshomaru's. His hair was styled in shorter but elevating outward spikes that stuck out. His front side bangs were much fuller where much of the tortilla brown and cream highlights striped much more dominate, framing his angular face. He also had thick side bangs that draped over his strong squared shoulder down to the length of his knees. His body structure gave the appearance even despite the kimono he wore as muscular and lean despite the clothing. His fur where visible, is of a tortilla brown, gray, and highlights of gray hue with dominance of cream but thin with rougher haired texture. The male had silver eyes with a few thin scars across his right eye. His skin looked as sleek as silk in appearance. He had elf like ears and a tail that hung to the back of his knee cap, thick with black and gray colors with a cream underside. Despite the scar on his right eye, he did not look unappealing at all. His facial and body nature, like Sesshomaru carried that of a humanoid form, but with the elven ears and discolored eyes it was obvious that he was a demon. His peered out under light long eye lashes from his thin perfectly arched and black eyebrows that took in his surroundings with a practiced air and laid back expression weighted on his face. Like Sesshomaru, he wore darker orange hue of eye shadow across his eye lids.
With lightly tanned skin, the hue of russet escapes in large patches from beneath the rough fur in many places showing some light and ashy tribal tattoos of wonderful detail, referencing his place in power as Prince of one of the compassed Domain territories as Sesshomaru was. The tattoo of detail was a caramel hue of brown color and held many long triangles going from his upper jaw to his lower cheek. In other areas of his upper cheeks were small rectangles in purposed positions to form a shape. Across the curvature of the left side of his neck was a tribal drawing fox print that was a darker brown color that was perpendicular to the tribal marks on the right side of his head that crossed down diagonally before it touched the mid temple though his bangs easily hid it. The kimono he wore was that of obvious impersonal and practicality of light airy fabrics of cotton and silks which are contained of his long beige under tail color of grayish black hues-that wraps around his waist as belt and straps of various widths, lengths and colors. Rich royal purple chords and interwoven from amazingly thin dyed leather straps with silks being the most prominent in the design. Practicality and design coupled into one ornate outfit, the attractive demure kitsune wore two layers to his kimono. One silver, and the other thicker one, beige-obviously made of cotton. On the sleeve were intricate wisps of grayish-black tribal designs on the sleeve that revealed in his inaudible communication to Sesshomaru of congratulations.
Above the wisps was a long strip that covered the length of the sleeve that was black that interwove with a coffee hue color of leather across the length. There were coffee color designs on the neck portion that simply gave a partial circle drape effect from one side of his shoulder to the next. There was a beige band of space that was the color of the kimono that gave the same thick band across his shoulders. Then right under was a thinner band, though hanging from it to give a more bead necklace look were three gold chords caring the kanji for the domain he represented. Outside of that was a third layer that was interwoven with cotton and silk material, though the silk was much more dominate, was a kimono vest that was black, making features stand out that much more. Correlated, the vest also had silver leather straps interwoven stopping low, under the mid bridge of his stomach to reveal the black straps and golden chords from the main design of his kimono. It tied just so over to rest over his mid-lower chest. The matching burnt black hakama pants of light and airy cotton was present. There was a cream bordered strip that outlined the rest of the shape of the vest kimono that matched same boarder strip along the sleeve of the main cotton kimono. Around his waist in twisted designs that came out to seem as if it was a thick pelt fox tail, held as a belt for his hakama pants and kimono vest top. Draping from the lower stomach were dark purple beads in an eight symbol design of wrapping, and on the left side of his hand was a maroon colored kanji symbol that represented the dominion area he now ruled. Over the shoulder was a silken silver material that draped a quarter down his arm with tan and gray sparkles that was a see through veil to his shoulders. Two tan chords draped down the shoulder to give the royal demure. The sandals he wore was thick with dark soles, coupled with thin leather straps which are capped off with silk sashes secured around his lower legs.
When Sesshomaru got to the end of the isle he then paused to kneel down as if bowing to a King, his eyes closed. He retained a humble yet serious facial demure, his head down and left arm crossed to where the fist formed over his heart. Everyone remained quiet as they watched the official installment begin. From a short off distance the Western Prince heard footsteps coming in his direction in which he recognized the gait to which it belonged to. The power was heavy and seemed to move like the danger of a snake, yet the intention of a wild dingo. The weight and power of his UDGR representative of the Western Domain, Inugami, approached him-who but his own grand sire who, between Sesshomaru and Geninji who assisted, had been overseeing and running his government and domain for the past 558 years. While he had been under long, unnecessary prep and rigorous studying and training, with little weight responsibility of actually touching and feeling his power and inheritance of the land his father had forsaken. Compared to the real weight, problems, and issues his grand sire and Geninji had, his grand sire had held the true power. Sesshomaru was merely an icon that represented the Prince of the West but it was unofficial. The daiyokai had no real say, or weight of influence or power to make really important decisions since he was not seen by the council of the UDGR, including his grand sire, as fit to run the kingdom just yet. There were even meetings and problems he was exempted from since he wasn't an official representative actively, but he learned what was going on only through the pure loyalty of his ally, Geninji, and Jaken who sneaked to ease drop on the conversation. Such embarrassment was long endured and overdue, despite the treatment was as if he was an incompetent child. The only real grace he had was that Geninji has subtly interlinked more missions that were serious and related to the kingdom in levels of difficulty, which a quarter of the time ended up with him dealing with Inuyasha and or Naraku in some shape or form along the way.
The demon Lord was always bitter towards Inugami for that, and he was glad the transition of all that power that was withheld purposely as long as possible would now be taken away so that he could do his job and fulfill his responsibilities as was meant and long inherited centuries ago. During this portion of the ceremony Sesshomaru did not look his grand sire in the eye, he never did, eyes closed or open. For Inugami always had that look of pity and shame in his direction as if it was his fault his father decided to run away with his power for his advantage to help the humans in the domain. In other words Inugami had always black balled Sesshomaru ever since his father had done that, as if he would do the same thing. He was the main enforcer to keep Sesshomaru out of the loop that entailed his rule of taking over the Western Domain for as long as possible, but this time even by the majority of the UDGR and Geninji's push he could do it no longer. He was passed ready, for the past 200 years at maximum Sesshomaru would give it, and even though he'd be regaining his power and reign back, with the bad family bloodline attitude Sesshomaru was beyond fed up with it. Yes he had to answer by Inugami's rules but what he did with the kingdom besides his advisement and following his requirements was up to Sesshomaru and there'd be no further decline or manipulation to keep him held back due to his grand sire's ill outlook on him. Not that Sesshomaru cared or went out of his way for it, but it was more than obvious he did not feel the same way about humans as his father-they were complete opposites. His own offspring died off and since InuTaisho was the only one left to take the throne at the time, had he not died, it was Sesshomaru's father who was meant to take his grand sire's place in the UDGR when he obtained the throne. Since his father died much earlier than expected Inugami had to be one of the rare first grandsires to serve more than a 500 century term because of InuTaisho's foolish behavior. Now that InuTaisho died it was finally Sesshomaru's turn to take the throne, in which he'd plan to better out rule them both since he'd be running things.
When Sesshomaru slightly looked up, eyes partially opened, there he met with a pale long and thick finger nail that shined a bright turquoise color. Sesshomaru unhinged his shoulders, closing back his eyes as his bangs frayed from both sides from the small gusts of wind. The power taking place while the crescent moon on his face began to react. The color of the crescent on his head went from a dark iris purple color, to violet and then finally to an ocean dark blue color. The two thin triangles on the right side of Sesshomaru's cheek became more vibrant and became an ocean blue color as well. On the other side of his cheek two more thin triangles stretched across as a dark ocean night blue color. Both triangles on both sides of his cheeks stretched to the point it paralleled now where the origin point his eyebrow began in forming its arch.
The 'dog' kanji symbol emitted a powerful aura from the power's reaction as even the obi the daiyokai wore that tied his armor, the purple squiggly color designs, had now transformed into a dark ocean night blue color. Accents of the blue embroidered around the outer lines of the circles decorated on his kimono sleeve and the same design that was on Sesshomaru's right side on the hem where the kimono shirt crossed was now on the left side, only it was a dark ocean blue and the three coupled red circles with white outlines designed on it instead. A red eyeliner of paint flashed on Sesshomaru's eyelids as well to align with the red accents of the kimono that were still present, but the triangle marks on his face and his crescent moon were now a dark ocean night blue color with a royal blue aura shining vibrantly around himself. This indicated the stop of the transformation once the royal blue aura receded back into his body, and no other changes presented itself. Sesshomaru silently stood up facing his grand sire who made no reaction except for a nod and gestured him with his head to face those he would dominion over. Sesshomaru made no facial expression at Inugami's gesture but turned around as everyone applauded and cheered with celebration from the new transfer of power of him officially being the Prince of the Western Land-though for him, mate or not he perceived it the transfer as him accepting his Kingship.
Inugami turned away going back into the crowd with no words to him whatsoever. Sesshomaru was slightly irritated but he was not going to allow this to ruin his day. His new look gave him a new maturity, chapter, and responsibility in his life. With his royal colors he now looked a lot more like his father than he really cared to. Even if he transformed into his dog creature form that fought Inuyasha at his father's graveyard for the Tessaiga, now had grown-if this form had been there back then during their battle in the graveyard, instead of looking like an ant on their father's bones fighting as they were from what Inuyasha explained. Sesshomaru's new growth in status and power would be demonstrated by being as large as InuTaisho's dog transformation once was when alive.
The demon lord turned facing all those under his jurisdiction, especially those in his inner division and simply held out his hand, fingers spread and beckoned them by gesturing his flapping his hand up and down since they were all still in bowed positions. "You all may stand," he stated lightly, eyes closed.
Everyone then arose and applauded as Sesshomaru merely sighed heavily, annoyed with such foolish ceremonies, but at least it was done and over with and he was free to explore his new domain without reserve as he wished to. He then turned back around away from the audience and continued walking down the pathway. Yes today was a great day, the day he was finally old enough to walk out of the castle in order to FULLY patrol his western grounds he inherited far long ago so that he could be familiarized with his own territory instead of looking at hundreds of maps that made no difference to him to keep within boundaries. To be recognized his full title as Prince of the Western Lands in both name and capability, and seeing all who had resided in his territory both human and demons alike. He would be sure that there were no intruders that walked his land, invaders, and would be sure that there is an equal balance of humans and demons, while testing the strengths of both for their strongest against his power. If there were a surplus of humans, he was to allow demons to feast upon a few villages or so, and if they went overboard he would dispose of the demons causing the off balance himself. He was to make sure all important demon packs and important demon groups of allies among one another that had influences over their area linking back to his connection of royalty remained on good terms and worked out other conflicts that may arise from them among each other, and that there were no disputes. As a mission of representation that is outstretched to his authority raised from the UDGR from the West, his responsibility was also to ensure rather human or demon all were to abide by the rules of the UDGR and if whomever failed to do so, would he be the reinforcement himself on those matters to handle personally.
SESSHOMARU walked over to A-Un who waited at the end of the pathway for him far beyond the castle gates. He grabbed the bridle that was around the creature and jumped on his back taking complete back straight posture as if he was a noble prince on a horse. A-Un was a two headed dragon demon, whose pelt was a mossy green with pale yellow eyes and hair down both necks. The under belly was a segmented yellow stomach with four legs and black claws. Despite his lack of wings he was still able to fly by running across the sky. He has a long dragon tail, and a black saddle with red boarders around it to sit on and a color with thick lavender chords.
"A-Un, we must leave. Quickly," he commanded. The creature nodded and flew off, Jaken staying behind smiling with tears in his eyes waving good-bye blowing through a cloth.
"Oh how they grow up so fast," said Jaken teary eyed.
"It appears so. Yet it seems, not fast enough," mumbled a voice resignedly behind Jaken.
Jaken's immediate reaction was jumping up from being startled and turning around raising his staff only to see that it was Geninji.
"What are you, crazy?! Don't go on scaring me like that!" snapped Jaken.
"Mind your manners and recognize who you're addressing your tongue to, Jaken," said Geninji crossly narrowing his eyes warning. Jaken quickly recoiled back and remained quiet as he then followed with a nodded apology realizing his out of place comment considering how much higher up Geninji was to him. The imp servant bowed walking back into the castle as the demons and villagers all began to leave dispersing among the area and conversing. Geninji sighed shaking his head and then looked up into the sky thinking as he watched the young Inu prince fly off.
The old elf-like demon's features were scrunched to reveal major concern looking up at the sky as if seeking answers. "Hmmm, even after all these centuries he has still been rebellious of his father's wishes. And now he is more heartless and colder than he ever was back when he was just a pup. Now, I am beginning to question the prophecy myself. For although now with etiquette as a demon of high royal class, in yet such an evil and bitter incarnate heart all the same. I ask my dear friend InuTaisho, what human could you have in mind that could ever come to love one that acts such as your son Sesshomaru's, nature?" thought Geninji worriedly looking at the daiyokai's now only golden radiating aura Tenseiga that was seen glowing so bright from the ground if you were looking for it. "And will it be enough to change him in time before it's too late now that he has your full powers? It's been officially five centuries, his powers have had cycles of up and down, but when will it start to drop completely. After all, the Western Domain's enemies are great, and Lord Sesshomaru will need ALL of his power to take those enemies down, otherwise his lifespan will shorten as well."
AS Sesshomaru flew across the skies he thought about what his father said.
Sesshomaru's Flashback:
"A woman? Tame this Sesshomaru...?" Sesshomaru expressed skeptically.
"You cannot doubt what is uncertain in the future based on what you have yet to know the knowledge of," InuTaisho expressed knowingly.
Flashback Over.
"Humph! What do you think A-Un," said Sesshomaru looking down at his companion for a serious state on its opinion.
The two headed dragon demon roared and Sesshomaru smiled pleased at his companion's response.
"My thoughts exactly. Who could this Sesshomaru possibly fall for at this point? Of course he'll occasionally have his fun. But never anything serious. Nothing can change this Sesshomaru, and that he is for certain," he stated assuredly.
The dragon flew off quicker as he trailed the skies across his land.
COMING out of the old Bone Eaters Well and into feudal Japan, was Kagome. The bone eater's well is was like any regular well during the feudal era of Japan. However, this same well was found in the shrine that Kagome Higurashi lives at in the present day, hidden inside one of the buildings of the shrine which is usually kept locked up. In the Feudal Era it is located in a small forest clearing; the well is used to dispose of bodies of demons and monsters but it also has the purpose of being used as a gateway between the present day and the Feudal Era. The only thing known about the well is that Kagome is the only human that can go back and forth through the well. Likely, because of Inuyasha's connection to her, he can also travel back and forth. Demonic objects can go through the well and into the future as well, as was noted when a past enemy, Yuna of the hair, used her control of hair to wreak havoc in Kagome's time period around the first time she and Inuyasha met. At that point they had to work together and Kagome had to return to the feudal era to assist Inuyasha in destroying her. This was probably also capable because at the time she had a shard of the Shikon Jewel. A centipede demon called Mistress Centipede who had attacked Kagome in the first place, revealing that the Shikon Jewel was indeed in her body, was able to pass through the well, but likely it was because Kagome still possessed a part of the jewel and its power was able to revive her back. None of her friends outside of Inuyasha could ever pass through the well, nor none of Kagome's family members. However, Kagome's older brother Souta over time was shown that his voice could cross the other side to speak and warn his sister from modern day Japan like a telephone. Specifically the power, what and how the well is active is still currently unknown.
When she pulled herself out of the wooden well fulling, only at the edge moving the dirt off of her skirt she heard a loud scream of celebration.
"SURPRISE!" screamed a crowd. Kagome gasped to see that in front of her were decorations around the forest. Green, red, white, blue, pink and purple balloons were tied around the trees, all from her time period. A large 'Happy Birthday' banner hung high behind them connecting from one tree to another. Green paper ribbons swirled around the trees and balloons were tied around the well with thin red and blue ribbons. From the shouts there were loud blasts of noise makers, and her friends were all wearing party hats. In the middle of all the decoration before her were Kaede, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Inuyasha who were all holding up a large chocolate cake with white icing. On it wrote big green letters with the numerical '2' and '1' candles on top. 'Happy 21st Birthday Kagome! From your friends that's a blast from the past!'
The young adult was a lot more mature now, actually in college. Though she did have many gestures of dropping out, considering her adventures she just stuck to taking low credit classes and doing them online. Kagome is a rather attractive young woman, with a curvaceous figure and well-toned thighs. She has somewhat pale skin, long wavy black hair with a noticeably grey outline which is sometimes portrayed as blue and big brown eyes (turns blue depending on the season). Kagome, instead of wearing her old green sailor uniform from her high school years had a now different outfit fit for travel and battle. She wore a dark green long dress that pointed at the end that stops a quarter before it hits the back of her knee cap, and under it wore brown khaki sports shorts that stretched down mid-thigh and still rolled at the end. The front of the dress only covered where the belt of the khaki's she wore, so the shorts were clearly and easily visible. There was a big large pocket to fit medicines, herbs, knives, anything from the Shikon Jewel pieces she once had inside from when she inadvertently shattered it 8 years ago. She had long matching dark green gloves on both arms that Sango had made her which stopped a quarter before it reached her elbow, with gold borders around it. The finger next to her pinky finger had the material with a gold boarders around it, which was the finger she mainly used to pull and shoot her arrows. The other material did not touch the outside skin of her hands, though it did give some protection on the inside.
The young college girl's top was sleeveless now to show the still effects of summer like influence of the hot August weather. The top was attached to the long skirt she had been wearing that shaped her form fittingly and as a part of the skirt still the same dark green color. It always made Inuyasha awkward and he would never stop looking at her, though she could never understand why. When Sango explained it to her she helped it by getting the sleeveless sport khaki jacket that matched the khaki sports shorts she had on to place over her which matched to make the whole outfit look form fitting and good for travel. There were breast pockets, side pockets and pockets at both sides of the jacket under the breast pocket that were long and rectangular. Her legs were more free and open to show off its shape and move around. From all the fighting she now had calf muscles and form. The jacket had a silver boarder at the bottom and with extra travel pockets on the sides, Kagome surmised that in the end it was good for carrying more anyway.
For the arrow bag she had to go with the outfit, she placed around herself backpack style, however there were still two more long straps that she wrapped around her waist so that it was snugged on securely. For something sturdy and in style the material was made from a thick brown leather material to carefully carry the arrows in so not to dull the edges. In her bag were 6 arrows ready for action if need be, and she had on heavy duty gym shoes for the travel and the walks. Of course, she made sure not to go anywhere without carrying her trusty yellow backpack from high school full of stuff from the future for her friends to keep them amused during the travels and for extra aide during battles. Of course this was until she realized once she had returned, she herself was unexpectedly greeted with things from her own time.
Kagome laughed at the saying on the cake as she pulled up her long brown arrow bag completely from the water well since she wasn't completely out of the well yet (over time Miroku and Kaede thought it best to create a wooden ladder to help Kagome out of the old well more easily for her returns).
Everyone blinked perplexed and exchanged looks with one another.
"Uuuuh..." Inuyasha commented.
"Ka..gom...e...?" young Sango stirred from under Kagome's reputable laughs.
"So...wait...does that mean you like it?" asked Miroku blinking owlishly.
"Unless Inuyasha was wrong again," commented Sango.
"That wouldn't be surprising at this point," agreed Kaede with a teasing smile.
Inuyasha blushed and quickly replied offensively to the girls, "I was not wrong! I did it just like Souta and her mom said there's no other way to do it, so get off my back already I followed the directions exactly!"
Kagome just laughed even harder, tears were coming from her eyes and she nodded. Everyone relaxed smiling and loosened their shoulders with relief.
Shippo perked with hands at his sides, "Well of course we did, with that smile, I'll say, we definitely caught her by surprise!"
When the young woman calmed down she walked over to them. "Oh thanks you guys. You didn't have to do all this for me. But some of this stuff," she began picking up the spinner toys and the noise blowers as well as looking at the 'number' designed candles on the cake, "is a little too futuristic for you guys isn't it? So spill, whose idea was it?" asked Kagome who was more than a little impressed.
"Geese, I wonder. Isn't that right Miroku?" said Sango rolling her eyes sarcastically as both of them looked over at a blushing Inuyasha leaned against a tree far off from them who crossed his arms turning his head to the side at being pointed out.
"Psht, don't know why you guys are looking over here for!" he blushed stubbornly.
Kagome flinched in surprise but blushed bashfully and slowly walked over to him.
"Um, Inuyasha...?" called Kagome shyly not sure of really how to approach him with asking.
"Yeah what da ya want?" he mumbled indecently just as shy with embarrassment for being found out so easily. Geese his friends were traitors. His body fidgets uncomfortably from her expectant look. "And stop looking at me like okay!" He grumbled blowing his bangs out of the way averting his gaze from hers as if he was a pouting child being caught in his secret.
Kagome smiled, "Well I can't help it," she looked down at the ground then continued, "Um, did you really do all of this... for me?" she asked her eyes softening at his direction.
This made Inuyasha shrink awkwardly, blushing harder as he looked down at the ground his finger tapping his arm even faster. "Well maybe! I mean-it-it wasn't nothing. Sango and Shippo did all the decorating and stuff! So it was whatever to me. All I did was get the stuff how else do you think all of this got here!" His lips pursed looking off to the side not meeting her eyes.
Kagome blinked in surprise, "But-but I thought you said we didn't have time to celebrate my birthday since we were still after Naraku now that he's completed the Jewel?"
"Well it's the final battle, we should at least relax on the last day! I thought the point of a surprise party was for you to be surprised but if you wanna go after Naraku then I don't mind packing all this stuff up and leaving right now!" burst out Inuyasha haughtily not changing his stance looking down at her.
Quickly, rather to stop an argument or a misunderstanding, Miroku bumped Inuyasha on the head with his staff and put his arms around his neck, squeezing him to death smiling nervously.
Shippo, Sango, and Kaede all chuckled and sweat dropped nervously at Inuyasha's lack of being able to display his true emotions correctly since it always seems to come out so wrong. This was always mainly due to the fact that Inuyasha burst to saying the proudest thing on his mind which always came out a lot more rude and arrogant than he means for it to because of his uncomfortableness of the emotion. It gives off a misconception of attitude that always ended with Kagome upset and Inuyasha's face to the ground from the constant commands of 'sit!'s from the beads of subjugation. This was a plum colored pearl necklace, with demon fangs in between, around Inuyasha's neck Kaede had placed on him when Inuyasha was had a stubborn resolve about going after the Jewel for his own selfish desires. During that time he and Kagome's relationship was tense, though now that their relations were a lot better considering their feelings for each other. The young college female only used it to hurt Inuyasha whenever he made her angry, by telling him 'sit' the beads would glow and the force of gravity would have him crash straight to the ground, rather he was standing or on top of something. She did this to make herself emotionally feel better and keep Inuyasha inline whenever he went too far with making her angry.
Miroku in his attempt at damage control took over the conversation, "In other words what he's trying to say Kagome is: that he said all of that so that you wouldn't get so suspicious," the monk explained with a smile holding Inuyasha's head forcing him to nod in submission to go with what he was saying. Inuyasha's face was of displeasure glaring at him. Miroku just gave him an annoyed look from his attitude, "Isn't that right?"
"Tch!" Inuyasha got from his grasp crossing his arms and murmured, "Yeah, yeah whatever."
Kagome sweat dropped and smiled nervously looking back at Miroku who continued and leaned against his staff explaining with friendliness, "Your mom helped us out too. Tell her the next time you see her that we all said thank you. We really couldn't do it without her, even with Inuyasha going back and forth to represent us. Your mom and brother are the ones who came up with the joke on the cake."
"Wow, thanks you guys!" expressed Kagome touched looking back at the cake, "I really don't know what to say."
"I just can't wait until we show you your gifts," smiled Sango walking over to her with a package in her hand wrapped in light baby blue silken cloth.
"Awe, you guys got me gifts too? You're the greatest!" smiled Kagome excitedly.
"Another age, in yet another year young Kagome," chuckled Kaede as she came from behind the young miko (Japanese translation: priestess), "During these times in our days turning another age is the mercies of the gods and another age of wisdom, especially that of 21." The old priestess attentively handed Kagome an item from both hands that was wrapped in a thick brown leather cloth that stretched out to 6 feet and 11 inches, and shaped from the cloth a 'D' symbol compared to Sango's simple silken baby blue square shape. Kaede's gift also seemed to be wrapped in more than one layer of cloth and it was a lot thicker. "Happy Birthday Kagome."
The young ebony haired woman was overwhelmed as she used her arms to delicately accept the gift into the cradle of her arms placing it against her bosom. She didn't want to get emotional but it was hard not to. She couldn't help but be excited and grateful at the same time for the eight years this woman had taken care of her. Kagome just shook her head amazed and looked back up at the old woman who she would have not only considered a great friend but more like her own grandmother. "Thank you Kaede," said Kagome kindly, features softening.
The young priestess began to unwrap it with everyone watching with anticipation. When she finally got the item loosened from the cage of its cloth everyone gasped in surprise. It was an archer's bow! The bow was a cross between a Longbow and a Recurve Bow, the material made from silver-gold steel, fairly slender yet thick in material of its nature, and engraved in it were decorations of vines and mountain lions, mountain bears, snakes, elks, and steers from the upper limb of the weapon down to its lower limb. The back was engraved with leaf shapes and lily pad designs. The grip in the middle of the bow where the grip and slight window were located, was an animal leather made of deer Hyde. Along with this the Nocks were decorated with different phases of the moon sign on it from both ends which curved up in one direction, and on the opposing end curved down. The archer bow at full size that Kagome held up was exactly 6 feet and 11 inches, much taller than her own height. Still it gave off a type of ancient Grecian influence in its design.
"Whoa! What kind of bow is this?" Kagome was breath taken at the weapon, it was absolutely beautiful.
"Nice!" complimented Sango in awe.
"Greatly timed gift Kaede!" praised Miroku walking besides Kagome to take a closer look, "With the upcoming battles coming up ahead this is exactly what you need Kagome."
From the excitement to look at the beauty of the item, young teen appearance Shippo ran before Kagome to examine it closer. "Looks cool Kagome, you should try it out!"
Kagome lightly touched the bow and all the engraved decorations in wonder as Kaede smiled. Inuyasha looked taken aback, it was a really good weapon, and one Kagome could use now that she was more than good enough at shooting arrows by this point. Her arm muscle formation revealed her built in muscle of her arms from constantly over the years over extending uses of shooting and above practice from the typical training bows and simple bows she'd been using the this whole time.
"I thought ye might like it. This is a rare cross between a Longbow and a Recurve Bow. There isn't a name for such a bow yet, but basically this bow has the features of both. Like the Longbow it is lighter despite the material, quicker to prepare for shooting. Despite its steel appearance this bow is actually made of yew and mulberry," everyone awed in shocked surprise.
"No way..." trailed Sango mesmerized.
"Whoa..." blinked Shippo sniffing it, "Hey she's right!" Inuyasha quickly pushed him out of the way, "Hey!"
He sniffed the weapon as well blinking surprised, "It's true."
"Doesn't Longbow have a history of being used for only military forces and priestesses like Kikyo? And Recurve Bows are mainly used for hunters and horsemen?" inquired Miroku.
"Aye, this bow handles both aspects which is why I saw it fit for young Kagome. Like the Recurve bow, the feature of this bow also as ye all may notice, in true to its name, has tips that curves away from the archer when the bow is strung," while everyone paid attention to Kaede Shippo became distracted looking at the bow and then blinked confused, "because of its shape this bow stores and delivers energy with much more precision and accuracy than a straight bow like the training bow or a general Longbow that my sister Kikyo has, which is built for the arrow to have greater speed."
"Ah I see," said Sango as Shippo sat crossing his legs looking up at the bow thinking pensively rechecking it.
Inuyasha then stated, "So basically where one type of bow such as the Longbow lacks, the features of the Recurve bow makes up giving it the ultimate bow like weapon in all aspects evenly right?"
Kagome looked at the weapon with interest blinking owlishly, "Huh."
The old woman nodded, "Aye. On the other hand, though this particular bow doesn't show it, on the general basis the Recurve bow is much shorter than the Longbow for a lot more easier transportation, as Miroku mentioned horsemen use those types of arrows so they need to be able to use it easily in war when riding a creature."
"I'll say," agreed Sango, she then turned to Kagome in concern stating, "But it looks like you're kind of going to have to haul that thing around a bit Kagome. It's a lot longer than you are." Kagome had grown taller over the years, instead of being 5'2 as she was 8 years ago now she was 5'6.
Kaede chuckled and returned her attention back to Kagome and Miroku, "Once you touch this weapon, it will feel your priestess powers and use it by your own design. It has the ability of Priestess Magic, barriers, and it can sense out demons that are close by for ye, as well as bind curses away from ye once you learn how to use it of course." Kaede's expressions was with a proud smile.
"Think you'll be able to handle this Kagome, I have to say I'm a bit concerned like Sango, it is a bit tall for you isn't it?" asked Miroku crossing his arms, although he was polite with it, it still underlined the fact that he had a feeling a weapon like that would pose a problem with even his basic familiarity about archery and how one goes about choosing which Bow to use-which is normally determined by height and or weight.
"She'll be fine, let her grow up," said Inuyasha nonchalantly crossing his arms. "She'll get it in no time get her a chance to adjust to it."
"Um, excuse me, Lady Kaede?" came a small voice taking everyone's attention. It had come from Shippo who pointed at the bow, "I don't get it. Where are the arrows?"
"Well they're here aren't they? She can just test it with these right?" asked Inuyasha pointing at Kagome's bag full of arrows.
Miroku examined the weapon touching the curvature from the top where the Nock was located to feel the material of the bow, despite the material it was pretty obvious that it was definitely made of wool although it seemed like steel in appearance. He then blinked in surprise realizing where Shippo was coming from. "That's not what he meant," the monk replied, "he's just using the wrong terminology."
"Huh?" Kagome and Inuyasha stated confused.
Sango walked over to Kagome examining the bow until finally she too noticed a feature that was different about the bow as well. "Oh I see," pointed out Sango. She tapped Kagome on the shoulder grabbing her attention to the direction she pointed, "Look Kagome, there."
Kagome started along with Inuyasha and she too became just as perplexed.
"What the hell, is this thing broken?" expressed Inuyasha.
"I don't understand, the Bowstring is missing," noted Kagome.
With every bow there needed to be a strong string in order to draw the arrow back but there was none, as if the string had been broken off...or else never had been there to begin with? But how? Was the bow really broken? What purpose did no string serve?
"Wow that's too bad," said Sango frowning.
"Maybe we can put one on," proposed Shippo.
"Tch, what a piece of junk! All that and for what? Old lady you need to go back to the merchant you got this thing from and get your money back, a Bowstring should have been the first thing you looked for. As a priestess I'm surprised you couldn't do that. You were probably taken advantage of, next time ask one of us to go with you when you wanna barter off of someone!" Inuyasha said haughtily.
"Settle down Inuyasha, don't be so rude," said Miroku meaningfully.
"He's just upset because he wanted the weapon to work and he feels like Lady Kaede got taken advantage of it all," smiled Shippo.
"Shut up!" snapped Inuyasha punching him in the head. The teen kit receiving a lump on his head from the assault.
"Ow! Hey! Kagome!" whined Shippo.
"Be a man already!" barked Inuyasha.
"You're just abusive!" the teen kit retorted. From there their argument continued as they wrestled on the ground with one another.
Kagome sweat dropped and Sango sighed, finger pressed against her temples shaking her head as if she had gotten a headache of the two already, "Some things just never change."
Miroku sighed, "After eight years you would think they'd get old of this themselves."
Kaede shook her head and turned back to the three that were still paying attention (Miroku, Sango, and Kagome) and responded, "The fact that this bow has no Bowstring was no mistake."
"Huh?" all three replied.
This stopped Inuyasha and Shippo's pity argument as he pushed Shippo behind him tapping him upside the head with his hand. Shippo pouted rubbing the back of his head and inflated his cheeks angrily in Inuyasha's direction.
"What are you talking about? Are you sure you just don't want to admit you got cheated cus I'll happily settle the score," he placed his hand on his right hip and with his left hand gripped the handle of the Tessaiga.
Kaede chuckled waving her hand down to calm the Inu demon down. The elder priestess held up a finger and informed them all. "Ah, but no Bowstring is what sets the Bow different from the rest. Allow me to demonstrate. See watch," Kaede took the bow, "You hold it as you would an arrow to focus on your target," her right hand gripped the gripper on bow that was located in the middle, though her fingers still crossed with the slight window area and the arrow rest section. The position of the grip in her hand was still not directly in the middle but was on the lower end of the middle of the bow. She straightened out her right arm, making sure it paralleled with her shoulders and the direction her eyes faced with a tree in front of her. "Then you take your left hand and draw your index across the area of the grip and arrow rest as if you already had an arrow placed between your fingers. Flow your fingers across it as if playing a string instrument. Then the arrow carrying Kagome's power will appear." She further demonstrated by holding the bow in a normal position then changed it by positioning the bow sideways, then back to standard position handing it back to Kagome without drawing her own left hand across the grip and arrow rest.
Everyone cooed with excitement and expectation.
"That sounds Awesome I wanna see!" praised Shippo.
"You gotta be shittin' me old lady, really?!" said Inuyasha just as pumped.
"Ah, so that's the catch," nodded Miroku favorably.
Kaede never did demonstrate the power of the bow she explained when she handed the bow back to Kagome to Miroku's perplexity, though he figured Kaede just wanted Kagome to try it out for the first time herself.
The old priestess continued to explain to Kagome, "As though you have an arrow in your hand one will completely appear-drawn from ye own power. It's more of a training tool of your priestess powers so that ye can become stronger, and protect yeself also. Not to say this can't shoot arrows but if you run out then your own powers will be enough, and if you're weak and tired you can use arrows as a substitute if you need to as well, or however you may see the need to fit."
"Sounds promising," Sango said with expectancy.
"This I gotta see for myself, I wanna see this thing in action!" Inuyasha baited.
Miroku sighed shaking his head and Kagome felt just slightly a bit intimidated. The monk rolled his eyes and placed his hand on her shoulders smiling reassuringly. "Ignore him. Go ahead Kagome, just try it out and see what comes of it."
"Um... okay," nodded Kagome tentatively.
The ebony locked young woman walked over to a random bunch of trees with the bow slightly lifted due to its height. She was only 5'6, and that spoke notion considering she only just finally recently grew the last two inches the past few years. It really was so much taller than her, she hoped she could master it artfully. Normally this was not the type of bow you generally chose, it was clearly much more advanced than she was confidence in her own skills. Facing the trees she sighed as she allowed the wind to blow and the forest to become her. The bow began to glow a mystic cloudy silver and golden aura that had reached out over her body flowing around her like a channel. Suddenly, confidence began to fill her as her hand stretched out before her, gripping the grip assertively, right in the core of the middle of the grip, wrist loose but gripped tightly as pink electricity of her spiritual powers sparked from her hands. Everyone watched eagerly.
Kagome made sure her arm was leveled to her shoulders and head, her body straight, shoulders loose but steady. In a slightly angled yet side position her right leg was in front of her, paralleled to her right shoulder. Her eyes held that of unsteady determination as she straightened her left arm and on a chest leveled position partitioned her pinky and ring finger slightly from the grip to the arrow rest. Without warning, Kagome suddenly felt a surge of power sparking within her fingers just from holding the position there. It reminded her of fireworks, pink lightening powers form a large powerful circle around her fingers against the bow as if she was building the power there.
Everyone jumped in surprise as a response.
"Draw me..." was the voice Kagome heard echoed from the weapon.
Her eyes expanded in shock as her body, before it could completely convey what was going on, allowed her to slowly draw her fingers across the bow past the grip and sight window. The electricity began to transform into a neon blue power that stretched into a full slender rod as she drew her finger across the weapon to the young girl's awe. The beginning spark of the power sparked out transforming into a channeling power tip triangular arrow holding fast and steady to the power Kagome was maintaining between her fingers. As though a harp, the young woman continued moving her hands across the empty area of the bow until she held firm, fists loosely gripped parallel going past her face and aligning up to her ear to show how long the arrow itself became. It was at least five to six inches long itself, the thickness of the rod was three inches from the base of the thicker portion but seemed to get thicker the further Kagome pulled back until her left arm was positioned parallel to her body posture and perpendicular to her earlobe and chin. The blue electricity sparked dangerously and powerfully as the power formed feathers in between the fingers that held the channeled power arrow in place in order to help keep it a flight, with its own power.
"Remarkable," stated Sango stunned.
"Kagome..." Inuyasha expressed in mesmerized.
"All of that is really Kagome's true priestess powers?" Miroku watched gob smacked.
"She upgraded from pink to blue!" cheered Shippo.
"Clearly yes as ye stated earlier young Shippo, there is significance to this," nodded Kaede.
The blue electric aura power formed within her index fingers where the cloth of her glove covered that one finger besides her pinky finger, electricity forming around both that finger and the pinky finger. It almost resembled that of Kikyo's power, only her power was blue with electricity. Kagome after getting over the shock focused on a tree before her aligning her aim for it to be right at the very middle of the tree. Sweat poured a bit down her head as she solely focused on that focal point of target. Finally, she let the power arrow in between her fingers release from its place.
Not only did the arrow hit the middle of the tree perfectly. But the arrow pierced through it with ease breaking the tree in half going through acres of more trees behind it as the stretched thickness of the rod of the arrow hit everything it touched of its surrounding sound in a 2 meter radius going across the forest. The onslaught of the shot cleared the trees creating a small pathway, uprooting the roots from some of the dirt. The force was so great, Kagome was slammed back, weapon still in hand and fell on the ground on her back.
Shippo held on to a nearby tree while Miroku knelt down closer to the ground sliding across the dirt trying to use his hands and plunging his staff into the terrain to hang on. Kirara turned larger and jumped in front of Sango taking most of the onslaught while Sango hid behind Kirara with the shaking wind of Kagome's attack. Inuyasha had already picked up Kaede having her take cover behind another set of trees while he covered her from behind as the wind from the attack took its course. When the attack finally finished everyone looked up and gasped, including Kaede herself. The attack alone, as everyone walked out to join beside a stupefied Kagome that sat up, took out a good portion or a least an acre of trees in the forest that ran across the arrow's path of power.
Sango chuckled nervously saying, "Oh wow..." Kirara jumped into the air turning miniature again and landed on Sango's shoulder.
Miroku blinked impressed, "That's some power..."
"It works alright, geese I'd almost say too well!" expressed Shippo terrified.
"Holy shit!" responded Inuyasha with exhilaration of excitement.
Even from the arrow upon release Kagome's mouth was flat open from shock of the impact the weapon made on the whole area.
"Whoa!" Kagome sat up as the wind pushed back her hair from the impact the arrow had hitting all the trees from out of its way.
"That's a strong attack, and only from a single arrow!" wowed Sango. Shippo nodded agreeing whole heartedly.
"Impressive. That's quite the trinket you got there Kagome," Miroku looked over at her. "It'll definitely be a huge use in our upcoming battle against Naraku."
"Um, that's an understatement," the young miko looked at the weapon, debating if it was more so dangerous or not than useful. Though somehow she remembered something happening as she drew from it that was important she should have remembered to tell the others. Though she couldn't put her finger on it. Relinquishing the thought she moved on, "I think I need to learn how to work this thing first before I use it in any big battles. Otherwise I'll be endangering myself and you guys besides our opponent. It's so strong-even for me," admitted Kagome slightly intimidated as well. She stood up cleaning the dirt from her knees.
"That is because young Kagome, that while ye had the Shikon No Tama within ye before it was stolen by Naraku. Ye body kept it purified, your powers and the jewel's powers have formed a bond, thus giving you the power of the Shikon No Tama itself by the fragments upon which it was broken in. It is almost like a circular flow of blood going throughout your body system while ye were holding the jewel for the past 14 years you didn't know it was within you," explained Kaede.
"Lady Kaede, if what you say is true. Does that also help explain why Kagome can sense the jewel?" asked Miroku. "Because one would say almost that Kagome is the rightful guard and owner of the Shikon Jewel."
"More than likely so. Let us not forget that when Kagome and Inuyasha first met, the Jewel was inside of her body for 14 of those years. So it is very well plausible the theory," nodded Kaede.
"Theory smeary, as long as the weapon can make her unstoppable when we fight Naraku due to Kagome's power the Jewel gave her, who cares!" said Inuyasha flippantly not seeing what the big deal about it was.
Shippo sighed, "Idiot."
Sango chuckled nervously, "Well to some degree I do agree with him."
"Thank you Kaede, I really like the gift," Kagome ran over and gave the old woman a big hug to the elder priestess' surprise of abrupt behavior.
"Aye child, ye are more than welcome," chuckled Kaede patting her back, though she seemed slightly confused in her facial features.
"Well I don't think mine is gonna top Kaede's," said Miroku. Kagome let go of Kaede and turned her attention to Miroku who wore a clever smile winking in her direction holding a dark blue long rectangular thick book, "but here you go anyway." He handed her the book. "I knew since you were working with Jininji training with herbs outside of Kaede training you when she could with your priestess powers. That you'd do well on trying to learn about other herbs and stronger medicine by which herbs to mix together, and which herbs can be made as weapons to protect or repel demons away from us so hopefully you can find this a little useful too."
Kagome screened through the pages pleased, "Wow Miroku there's even pictures with direction and history behind this too. Thanks you're the greatest! This is still just as great are you kidding me, this could definitely become useful!"
Inuyasha blushed embarrassed scratching his head, he then slowly turned away from everyone. Behind him in his hand hidden within his long apple red kimono sleeve was a small red book with a lock on it.
Inuyasha's flashback:
Inuyasha, 15 year old Souta, and Kagome's mom were all lounging around in the kitchen.
Kagome's mom was frying rice in a pan. Souta sat in front of Inuyasha at the dining table with a bowl of rice while the half demon lye on his side on the green tatami mat holding a stick with paper designs hanging from it. He used it to distract himself to help allow himself to think while the light brown mix white overweight cat Buyo, stretched himself vertically up and down as if doing an exercise. This was so he could hope catching the paper between its paws every time Inuyasha bought the paper down or flung it back and forth passed the cat's pathway. His elbow was on the mat lying there sideways, one hand holding up his head that held pensive thought while one leg stretched out and the other folded up. His face furrowed with frustration.
"Come now Inuyasha, you know Kagome's surprise party is coming up soon. Did you get her anything yet?" asked Kagome's Mom turning to him cleaning her hands with her white apron.
Mrs. Higurashi wore a yellow short sleeved shirt and like Kagome they shared the same brown eyes. Her eyebrows are thin and she had black curly short hair with a single curled bang across her forehead. She wore white sandals and on the counter was a yellow wrapped bento she had made for Kagome and the other's lunch that Inuyasha was to leave with.
The half demon sighed annoyed with frustration rolling the paper around in circles with the stick that Buyo desperately tried to chase after, yet continually fell to its back for. This helped calmed Inuyasha despite his emotion of disappointment. "Yeah I know. But the problem is that I don't know what she likes for me to know what to get her."
"Well how about you try making something. She'll take it if it's from you ya know," said Souta pointing his chopsticks at Inuyasha's direction.
Souta wore a large soccer ball jersey short sleeved shirt that was green and white that had the number 9 on the right corner in white graving. It was also a number 9 on the back, and he wore gray shorts. Souta was now a taller leaner young man in his 14 years of age at 5'8. His hair was short and black, his dominate side holding the thicker side of his bangs on the left side, while on the right was his smaller more thinner side. His voice was now deeper from puberty and his otter mode body build was in an intermediate process of going towards the athletic building frame.
"Souta's right dear, that'd be just fine. You know how nonjudgmental Kagome is," said Mrs. Higurashi turning down the stove placing the rice to the side joining them at the table.
Out of nowhere, Kagome's grandfather walked in wearing a white priest kimono shirt and gray pants. His skin is tanned a darker brown color, his face the shape of an acorn. Lines formed on his forehead to show his stricken of age. He has many sharp features, including his pointy beard, side parted down gray mustache, stubble nose and sharp gray eyebrow shape. His hair is also gray and pulled back into a pony tail.
"Hi grandpa!" greeted Souta.
"Hello there, Dad," nodded Mrs. Higurashi.
The old man looked over to see Inuyasha in the dumps, "Ah, Inuyasha. What brings you here? Is Kagome around?" he looked around.
"He came alone this time dad," explained Mrs. Higurashi.
"Oh?" He sat down at the table.
Souta folded his arms across the table, "Inuyasha's trying really hard to find Kagome a good birthday gift for the surprise party he wants to plan for her. He's struggling."
"Ah, I see," he turned to Inuyasha who was growling in frustration and sat up abruptly right when Buyo nearly had the paper. Instead the cat's claws stuck into the sleeve of his kimono and pouted with frustration.
"Damn it all! Why does she have to be so hard!" he cursed rubbing both sides of his head.
"Hey I know, if you wanna impress her," Grandfather said pulling out a scroll opening to show all his trinkets of the Shikon Jewel key chains, charms, lizards, and other things, "Why not give her one of these."
"Grandpa! Kagome's not going to want any of that stuff," Souta stated sweat dropping. These were all demon charms of urban legend and folktale. Inuyasha sweat dropped, he couldn't agree with Souta more, he's seen Kagome's skepticism of the trinkets when it wasn't her birthday. There was one rare time it worked when Yuna of the Hair was attacking the modern time, but that was 8 years ago, and it never happened again.
"Of course she will! What better way to impress her than to show her you know about her family priest Shinto heritage! And since you've long been an important person to us in the family, I'll even give you discounts!" he advertised suggestively.
"Dad!" Mrs. Higurashi disapproved, hands curled up on both sides of her shoulders.
"What? We're trying to make a living!" he justified.
Inuyasha looked at the items and then sighed, "Sorry old man, I would have considered if half of this stuff actually worked."
"I'll have you know young man that this has been in my family for...!" he began.
Mrs. Higurashi slowly helped grandpa up leading him out to the next room, "Now, now dad it's okay. He didn't mean it that way it's time for your medicine anyway," she soothed. She handed him some pills with water and it was enough to pacify him for the time being even though Inuyasha got offensive glares.
Inuyasha sweat dropped and actually apologized. He leaned against the wall tapping the stick that held the trail of paper to his shoulders as Buyo kept climbing on his arm to jump in order to catch it but missed. "Psht. Perhaps here Kagome isn't nonjudgmental, but behind closed doors when she's with me it's a whole another story. I need to get her something that she's always gonna need. Not something just to look at for one day and then throw away," said Inuyasha. At this he allowed Buyo to touch the end of the paper, the cat smiled as if it caught the cheese. Inuyasha smiled, and then easily pulled it away forcing the cat to fall flat on its face on the ground.
Souta sweat dropped, "How cruel."
Mrs. Higurashi placed a hand under her chin thinking, "Hmm, always need and never throw away huh. That's a tough one."
Souta placed a fist on his cheek leaning his head on it thinking while drinking his green tea. For a few moments Inuyasha shook the paper trail in front of Buyo against the floor and when the cat jumped to catch it, he quickly moved it out of the way and laughed, clearly amused.
It was then that Souta grinned snapping his fingers catching an idea. "I know! Why don't you get her a diary? Girls like those!"
"Dairy eh?" blinked grandpa at the idea.
"Oh Souta honey, that's a wonderful idea," smiled Mom placing her fingers together leaning over the table as Inuyasha turned over distracted. At this Buyo took advantage of the hanyo and jumped for the stick in his hand grabbing it and ran off.
"Um excuse me, guy from the past here! What the hell is a diary? And the bigger question is, is it gonna be enough to impress Kagome?" asked Inuyasha resting his now free hand on his thigh.
"A diary is usually an empty book with a lock on the outside of it for privacy. This is a place Kagome can write and express herself, and her feelings by writing down certain dates that are significant to her. You never wanna keep your feelings bottled up. So it's basically a book to be her vent and to help calm her down when she's upset, or to express special occasions when she's happy. Who knows? Maybe when she's mad at you when she releases her anger out inside there she'll come back to your time quicker after writing down things to blow off some steam. Cus now that she has an outlet she just may calm down from your fights faster. Didn't you say she always held you guys up from going after that Naraku character," pointed out Souta with a gesture.
"Ah that's true!" said Grandpa.
Mrs. Higurashi smiled and turned to Inuyasha, "Well see, this is a thought."
Inuyasha flipped up and slapped his hand on the table with a confident grin, "Psht. If it does all that then sign me up for it!" Inuyasha held up a thumb to parallel to his face pointing behind himself. "I'm gonna get Kagome a dairy!"
Everyone cheered at this resolve.
Flashback Over.
"Damn brat. Damn everyone. She's getting all this cool stuff. Now she's gonna look at this thing like 'what the hell is this'," thought Inuyasha looking at the red book. He then turned around and angrily walked off abruptly.
"Huh?" everyone jumped in unison at Inuyasha's obvious rush off from the group.
"Where's Inuyasha going?" asked Kagome blinking confused watching him off from a distance.
"Who knows?" said Shippo sucking on a lollipop strawberry flavor with banana swirls in the middle. He then took out a note pad drawing of her and him. "I know it's not like those camera things you have in your time, but I think this will do."
Kagome turned her attention back to Shippo and leaned down to see the picture of her riding her bike with Shippo riding on the end kicking his feet back and forth. It may have been the drawing skill of a fifth grader but you could still tell what everything was. She placed her hand on the 13 year old kit's head and cooed. "Oh Shippo it's so cute! Of course it will, it's the thought that counts." Kagome rubbed his head.
Shippo chuckled and chirped, "Happy Birthday Kagome!"
"Well, last but not least I suppose," Sango stepped up beside Shippo with her pretty silk cloth wrapped gift, "This is from me. I saved all my savings up for this. All of it is real, so just make sure you find a place to keep it so that it doesn't get dirty so easily." Sango handed the mysterious light baby blue square cloth shaped gift to Kagome who received it without complaint.
"Thanks Sango!" replied Kagome. She then unwrapped the gift and gasped. Inside was a blueish silk kimono with a blue glittering rose comb to put in her head for decoration. The kimono was decorated with crescent moons, stars and blue flowers stretching across it. Everyone was impressed at the shiny material in a state of wonder. "Sango! This-this kimono, it's...it's amazing! This must have cost you...!" Her eyes began to water, she was fighting tears not to cry.
"Awe," smiled Miroku touched nodding, "The silks are beautiful Sango."
"Very nice dear," nodded Kaede in approval.
"Don't worry about it, Kagome. Our friendship is priceless. You can wear that for whenever," offered Sango.
"Oh Sango thank you! When I wear it I'll make sure you're the first to see it don't worry! I'll have this with me always," the birthday girl happily hugged her good friend who was always more like a sister than a friend on most occasions.
THE sun began to set, the cake was already cut, and happy birthdays were sung as Kagome then looked around the area.
"Where is Inuyasha? I'm shocked he isn't back by now," asked Kagome looking around the area placing her plate down on a rock.
"Who knows," shrugged Shippo, "Probably still sulking."
"Shippo," warned Miroku.
"What? He probably is," the young kit shrugged.
Kirara mused smiling wagging her tail from atop Kaede's shoulder who too was enjoying her piece of cake.
Kagome frowned, and Sango responded, "Regardless Kagome, you should go and find him. He'll sulk more if he misses everything. Besides you still have Inuyasha's gift, so why don't you try to find him?"
Kagome nodded, "Thanks Sango you're right I'll do that." The young priestess cut the last piece of cake with a knife in a nice square shape and placed it on a plastic plate. "Wish me luck guys!"
She ran off plate in hand and everyone smiled waiting their return expectantly.
IT didn't take long to find him, he wasn't that far from where the party was. He remained in a tree looking at the sun set to reveal the day's end and welcome time to the soon approaching evening.
The young miko walked over to the tree looking at the scenery as the wind blew. She smiled and looked back up at the branch the half demon was on. "Inuyasha," called Kagome.
"Go away!" he snapped.
Kagome huffed getting upset. "Hey, look I'm in a good mood right now please don't ruin it by arguing with me! I don't know what your problem is, you've been sulking all day! And you still have yet to have a piece of cake. You're lucky I even managed to grab you the last piece. Come on and join the fun. Get over yourself!" pleaded Kagome.
"I'm fine," Inuyasha mumbled dejectedly. Kagome frowned.
"Inuyasha, what's wrong?" she asked concerned leaned at the base of the tree looking up at him concerned. She'd never seen him like this before.
Inuyasha screamed out in frustration and looked down at her. "Look, I'm sorry that I couldn't get you as great as a gift as everyone else okay! Bad advice, I'll give your little brother my thanks the next time I see him." He said throwing the book at her.
"Hey!" Kagome complained. It nearly hit her as she hugged the tree to dodge it since he randomly flipped the handle like that, much less throwing a random object her way. "What was that...?" she looked up at him then down at the object to see it from afar in the grass, and blinked owlishly at it, "A...book?" she walked over to the red book, knelt over and examined it. She touched the gold lock and the key that hung beside it. There were Shinto symbols etched across it and the book held a strong binding. The young miko took a breath in realization, then her features softened as she sighed heavily and gave into contentment. "It's a diary." When she said it her voice was more touched than anything.
"Yeah, yeah, go play with it or do whatever you do with it in your time. I know it's not all that great but it was the best I could come up with for now. Don't worry, I promise I'll do better next year," pouted Inuyasha crossing his arms.
Kagome smirked teasingly with defiance and stood up nimrod straight. She held the book sideways at her thigh and with her eyes closed, turned around to face where his back was to her she shouted, "Inuyasha, sit!" The beads around him glowed, and quickly, he fell out of the tree crashing onto the ground before her feet.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" screamed out Inuyasha angrily sitting up.
"You idiot, is that all?" she spoke in the tone polar opposite of his, and this immediately calmed him down from how soft and tender her voice was, "Is this why you practically missed my whole party?" Kagome held the diary to his face, the other hand at her hip leaned towards him.
Inuyasha blushed embarrassed and turned his face away shyly. The once chastising face she had, then turned into a teasing gesture.
She grinned at him and spoke warmly, "Oh Inuyasha, you know I don't care about luxury. I like this gift the best," she emphasized looking at it then gave him the rest of her attention, "because at least I know you care enough about me and what I feel to give me something to express my feelings in such as this. So thank you." She held the dairy close to her chest with a stance that never wavered.
Inuyasha blushed harder looking at her. "What? Really? Do you mean it?" he stuttered with surprise looking back at her.
She nodded reassuringly, "Of course I do. Now stop sulking and have a piece of cake so we can get back to Sango and the others at the party." She gave him the plate and handed him a fork to go with it. Inuyasha accepted it as he nodded and they headed back. Kagome then froze; Inuyasha looked at her confused and stopped also.
"Hey Kagome, what's wrong?" asked Inuyasha.
Kagome blinked owlishly with confusion back at the ground and then shrugged it off. "I just feel something strange. Like a wave for some reason. All of this seems so familiar to me."
"Really? Are ya sure?" asked Inuyasha kindly.
"Yeah, but it must be nothing," she shook it off, and said with open invitation to the Inu, "Come on, I'm sure it's nothing we need to worry ourselves with, let's go!"
The moment after they left walking back in silence besides one another, A-Un flew right over them.
"We'd best be careful A-Un. We've been flying for weeks, and this Sesshomaru thinks we've finally reached out of the boundaries of the Western Lands. Prepare to land," commanded Sesshomaru.
The dragon nodded and flew the opposite direction away from where Kagome and Inuyasha had just went.
"Together when union, shall share true love's first kiss. Now the prophecy will come true, and behold amiss shall occur, for the evil prince's heart once cold, shall learn to love, when he loses that which he treasures most..."
