Chapter 1
"The only way you can find your friends," the voice rasped through SeeU's ears, "is to
follow my orders and do as I say. #014680, if you need more help." SeeU blinked as the
mysterious voice hung up the phone. Her cell phone slipped out of her hands and fell to
the floor.
Why is this voice calling me? What is it trying to do with me…? SeeU quivered at the
thought of being used. Her mind wandered off to her missing friends.
"Ren, Miku…" She whispered. It wasn't a while ago since her two friends, Miku Hatsune
and Ren Kagamine, suddenly disappeared during an onstage performance. She remembered
the mysterious fog clouding over Miku and the Kagamine twin's performance, and leaving only
Rin Kagamine standing alone. After that, Kaito got all the Vocaloids to find his missing girlfriend
and best friend. And SeeU was the leader of the search party.
She went to the meeting room and sat herself down on a chair, and wiped sweat off of
her face. She heard Kaito walk into the room, which surprised her.
"How's the search going, SeeU?" Kaito asked as he stacked a pile of papers neatly. SeeU
grumbled as she grabbed one of Kaito's files and searched through it.
"Not good. Rin is freaking out over the loss of her brother, and Mikuo is searching the
entire country to look for his sister." SeeU said as she read the status updates on the search.
Kaito sighed and sat down next to her. He put his hands on his face.
"What am I going to do? After Miku and Ren disappeared, more of our VOCA Agents are
disappearing too…" He mumbled, his face still buried in his hands.
SeeU grimanced as she remembered the other colleagues who disappeared.
"Meiko, Gumi, Gakupto…" SeeU listed quietly. Kaito nodded in sadness. He pulled his
face out of his hands and stood up fiercely.
"SeeU, I'm glad that you are our leader. But I need you to do something more important
than just searching." Kaito said as he looked at his files. SeeU looked at him, confused. More
than what she's doing now?
"I figured out the group that were kidnapping our VOCALOIDS. Take a look for yourself."
Kaito said and he handed over the file to SeeU. SeeU looked briefly through the papers, and
looked at one of the kidnappers. A figure wearing all black stood in a corner, with a gun
pointing directly at SeeU. She shuddered and closed the file.
"They call themselves the QUARTET." Kaito said, interrupting her thoughts. "They
apparently plan to take over the VOCALOIDS, and use us for…" He stopped and started thinking
about it for a few minutes. "I'm not sure."
SeeU looked at him and patted his back. "What should I do then?"
Kaito looked at her with ambitious eyes. "Find any QUARTETS, and kill them." He
handed SeeU a gun, and she took it gingerly. "Take the tactical team with you, and go look for
one of the QUARTETs. Even better, their hideout area."
SeeU nodded abruptly and stored the gun into her belt. She walked out of the room,
with thoughts filling her mind. She walked into the tactical team room, looking around the
room. Vocaloids were too busy eating and chatting with one another, they didn't even notice
SeeU coming in. She sighed.
"Tactical meeting now." She said firmly. The Vocaloids were too busy to hear her.
"HEY!" SeeU said loudly, stamping her foot. The Vocaloids finally looked at her with
shocked faces. SeeU glared at the lazy Vocaloids and stepped inside slowly. "Tactical team,
come with me, we have a special meeting going on right now."
