"Now Ithim and Hemdil, you must be on your best behavior for the party tonight. The son of our lord and King Odin will be attending." A woman with warm brown eyes and beautiful golden hair instructed to a pair of children. The two children appeared to be around the age of six or seven.
One child was a girl with short hair of bouncing, golden curls. Her huge blue eyes were sparkling with delight. The other was a boy with straight, ear-length blond hair. His large brown eyes watched the woman with a rather bored expression.
"Yes, mother." The two children replied in unison. As soon as the woman's back was turned and she went away, the girls face turned glum and she turned to her brother.
"Another boring party with no one to play with…" She mumbled.
"Did you not hear mother, Ithim? Thor will be there at the party. Perhaps we can snatch a glance of him." The boy stated, hoping to raise his sister's spirits.
"Perhaps you're right, Hemdil," she replied with a hopeful look. "I would only dream of marrying someone like the great and mighty Thor!" Ithim smiled with a giggle.
Hemdil replied with a sigh, "You are just a girl. No man as mighty as Thor would want anything to do with a girl like you. Now, Lady Sif on the other hand might catch his eye."
Not listening to her brothers statement, Ithim paused a moment in thought. She then opened her mouth to speak, "Hemdil? Did you notice that mother only said Thor was to be attending the party? What about the younger one?"
"Loki, you mean?"
"Yes, Loki, doesn't he attend the parties as well?"
"I don't think Loki is well liked…" Hemdil replied softly.
"Well, why not?" Ithim demanded, her lips pouted.
The children were interrupted by their mother, "Because he is different and not like us. Do not linger on the subject, my children. Now come, we will be late for the party."
Ithim and Hemdil exchanged glances, planning to discuss this matter latter. The children then complied with following their mother out into the fading sunlight of Asgaurd.
