It sounded a lot better when it was still in my head. However I do have a short sequel to it planned, but it won't get written until next week as I have some other commitments before then.

Enjoy.

When Ryoma was woken by the annoying "beep" of his alarm clock he woke up enough to beat the thing into submission before rolling over and going back to sleep. However, it was not long until it was his cousin decided to act as his alarm clock and disturb him. She didn't stop fussing at him until she saw him sitting upright in his bed.

Roma rubbed sleepily at his eyes, and clumsily covered his mouth as he yawned. Gold eyes lazily wandered the room as he waited for his higher level brain functions to kick in. The sight of his uniform prompted him out of his bed and into getting dressed. The familiar routine revived him enough to remember the Japanese breakfast his cousin would have waiting for him. So it was with a 'skip' in his step that he made his way downstairs.

It was barely ten minutes later that he went stomping back up the stairs and into his room, calendar clenched tightly in his left fist. His whole body shook with emotion. There was a look of profound horror on his face. When his heart had stopped pounding and rational thought began to return, he shut and locked his door, barricading it with his desk. He made sure his windows were locked and the curtains pulled all the way across.

Room as secure as he could make it he changed back into his pyjamas and crawled into his bed, pulling his bedcover over his head. He shot up in a panic seconds later when he remembered Karupin. As he did so, there was a protesting "meow" as his movement had managed to throw his cat to the floor. Gathering the cat in his arms, he resettled himself beneath his blanket.

He was safe. Karupin was safe. For every one else…well…if they were smart, they were in a similar position. Apart from that, it was every man for himself.

April Fool's Day was to be avoided at all costs if you knew Fuji Syusuke. This was especially true if you were dating him.

Ryoma shuddered, imagining what would have happened if he hadn't noticed the calendar. He felt a moment of guilt when he thought of the other people that would be caught by Fuji. However, Fuji was dangerous. It was wise, not cowardly, to hide. There would be consequences to pay for not allowing his boyfriend to torture him on a day especially suited to it, but Ryoma thought he stood a greater chance of surviving the experience when the teachers might consider stepping in on his behalf.

Convinced of his reasoning he hugged Karupin to his chest and let himself drift off to sleep.
