Chara looked through the Hotland. He had just escaped the clutches of his adoptive parents, Asgore and Toriel for the first time and was out to get his kicks for the night. He admired the burning skyscape and made his way over to some flaming lava upon which was written an advertisement for a poetry reading. He was confused, because the advertisement said it took place on October 10 at 10:00 and it was that time but nobody was there. Suddenly, a big fat dragon type monster made his way over to Chara.

"Excuse me, so sorry, I'm so late," said the fat monster.

"You're damned right you're late," said Chara. "Late for me to kill you."

"What the hell are you talking about?" asked the monster. "I'm just here to present my poetry, why is that so difficult for you to understand?"

"Be careful what you say to me," said Chara. "I can kill you in every way known to man."

"You've got some issues, kid," said the monster. "But it's not too late to help you, I hope. My name's So Sorry, I hope you can make your way under my wing."

"No way, Lardo," said Chara. "I don't associate with fat people."

"Why do you have to be so mean, kid?" asked So Sorry. "I'm nice to you."

"Go away," said Chara. He attempted to kill So Sorry, but So Sorry ran off before he could. So Sorry would spend the next several years in hiding. Some say he became W.D. Gaster. Some say W.D. Gaster became him. Whatever the case, So Sorry became one of the only monsters to escape the clutches of Chara and the next several souls.
