Author's Note- Okay, so I've been reading Vampire Kinights, so I wanted to do this.

Zero's chest tightened, his fists clenched as he took in what Yuuki had just told him. "I love you, Zero," she whispered. "You mean everything to me. But do you…love me?" the girl's gaze had fallen to the table that stood between them, and her hands were clutching to her own chest. Zero stole a glance at her and contemplated his response. He truly did love the girl, and he had waited years for her to say she loved him as well, but he knew better than to believe they could really be together. He was a danger.
Zero wished he could tell Yuuki he loved her. He wished he could've been a human, for him to love her like she needed to be. Zero had waited so many years for her to stop obsessing over Kaname, and to care for him instead. And now she was, but he couldn't let her.
Since he didn't suck the blood of Shizuka, he would eventually become a class E vampire. He would go around, killing, and he would hurt Yuuki. If she became close to him-like he always wanted-he might kill her once he dropped to E. He couldn't do that to this girl. He loved Yuuki, but for her to live, she couldn't love him.
"Get out of here," he said, quietly but forcefully. Yuuki's head shot up. She looked dazed and confused.
"W-what?" she whispered, tears welling in her eyes. Zero looked into her face just for a moment, because seeing tears that he caused in her made his chest ache even more.
"Leave me! Get out of here!" he screamed, the tears that had welled in her eyes now streamed down her cheeks, her one hand clutched her chest, and other idle.
"No! Zero, I love you!" she exclaimed, quivering with her heartbreak. "I do!"
"Yuuki! Don't you get it?" he cried, he felt on the verge of tears, but wouldn't cry in front of her, he wouldn't. "You mean nothing to me! You're nothing, not even my friend! I don't care about you! You are NOTHING to me!" Every word hurt Zero just as much as it hurt Yuuki, because he didn't want to tell her these things. He wanted to tell her that he loved her, everything about her. Zero wanted to tell her that all he said before now were lies, and hope that she would forgive him for them.
"Z-zero," Yuuki whispered. "Please." Zero had to hold himself back, to keep himself from rushing to her, and kissing away her tears, but he couldn't, he had to keep going.
"What did I tell you?!" he screamed. "You mean NOTHING to me! I HATE you! I would NEVER love you!" Yuuki sobbed loudly, and ran out of the room. Zero's heart fell, because now Yuuki would never love him again, she was gone from him forever now. But now, she would be safe.
Okay, my first Vampire Knights fanfic. I absolutely LOVE the pairing ZeroxYuuki, but I had a feeling something like this has a better chance of happening then Zero suddenly going all mushy for Yuuki, and not worrying about the whole "becoming-class-E" thing.
