Dani Reese didn't know how her partner always managed to look impeccable. It was like he didn't wrinkle, even after a night spent on stakeout, his designer suits were perfectly pressed and shirts crisp. It was like some sick joke the universe was playing, cause she wasn't a slob, but, beside Crews, she looked rumpled.
He even looked fresh and scotch guarded the few times she'd seen him in off duty clothes, though she was pretty sure he didn't iron his jeans. That was just weird.
Which was why she grinned when the door of Crews's mansion swung open to reveal a seriously messy version of her partner, grinning with stuff splattered all over the front of his shirt…and some of it in his hair.
"Reese," he greeted her brightly, then cocked his head to the side. "What are you doing here?"
She held up her phone. "Early texted me, said there was something here I had to see…and why didn't you ask who was at the door before you opened it."
They didn't need him getting shot in his foyer again.
Crews just rolled his eyes and waved her in. "Ted finds the idea of me baby sitting Little Teddy funny. I don't see why."
Making her way into the kitchen, Dani grinned at the baby food coated counters and the happy little boy in the high chair, gleefully scooping up another handful of mashed nastiness to hurl in her direction. He had a good arm, but not such great aim and hit the refrigerator.
Dani just laughed and teased, "Can't imagine why he'd find this funny."
