They followed Nate because they trusted him. Most of the time. He came up with plans that made use of the teams vast array of skills in a way that baffled everyone's minds.

But on occasion, the impulse to run, to cast off the ties that held them to Boston and the team struck both Eliot and Parker. They were the lone wolves, the ones who were truly as comfortable on their own as they were with others. The team was family, but sometimes….sometimes Parker just wanted to rappel off of the Prue and Eliot needed to get out of the city.

As often as Eliot commented on Parker's oddness, he understood it, which was how he found himself sitting atop Cathedral ledge in New Hampshire, alone and enjoying the solitude. It'd be a while still before Parker managed to free climb the rock face.
