Sofia the First: Friend is Key

"Hurry Up Sofia! It's almost time to go!", Sofia sat up in her bed, rubbing her eyes yawning as the bright morning light shone through the dimmed window of her Grandmother's home. She stared at the door and watched as her Grandmother's wooden floors creaked with the wind as it blow in through the cracks in the walls, and windows, of the old house. She stretched her arms in the air, and stepped onto the old wooden floor boards.

"Yes Grandmother, I will be down there as soon as I get dressed.", Sofia smiled, and pulled the covers of the bed back into it's original fashion. Grabbing a dress, undergarments, and a pair of boots, her mother sewed together, she dressed and folded her nightwear and placed it on the neatly done bed.

Skipping out to the kitchen, a plate of oatmeal with fresh picked apples, stood before her normal seat. "Thank you Grandmother.", Sofia took her seat, made a wish and ate her breakfast. Visiting the elder woman was a normal summer tradition, but this year was going to be different. Since Amber and James were going to be here for the summer as well. Since they were use to the royal life, this sudden change of living would, maybe, be difficult for them to comprehend it over a forty-eight hour time span.

"James, Amber. Maybe you should come help Grandmother plant the seeds in the garden.", Sofia peeked her head in the room where Amber stayed, James Was outside picking up worms and showing them to Sofia's Grandmother. "Her garden is so pretty and you may even like it!" But sadly Amber didn't seem to believe Sofia.

She shook her head and waltzed out the door.

"A week in this heat It's going to ruin my hair", Amber complained. Sitting at the table awaiting for a glass of (purified) water.

"Amber , it's not that bad. Grandmother is going to love it when she gets to have visitors every summer. And she's very nice. So don't complain, Grandmother is trying her best.", Sofia smiled, giving Amber a glass of the limeade she, James, and Grandmother made together. Amber turned it down, and mourned over how a week in such low conditions were so awful.
