Why I'm Here
By: Bridgette
Sometimes I ask myself
Why am I here?
I'm waving good-bye
To the life I held dear.
How did this happen –
All the pain and blood?
And how did it all come
From the wonder of love?
My life changed in a hearbeat
The second I met you.
It's you I try to blame,
But that's something I can't do.
I try to get upset,
Resentful, angry, mad.
But I always just end up
Simply feeling sad.
You didn't ask for this
And it rained down so hard.
It's like happiness for you
Was stolen, locked, and barred.
Sometimes I catch you crying
When you think you are alone.
It breaks my heart so badly
And chills me to the bone.
I don't have to ask myself
When I see you cry
Why I am here
'Cause now I know why.
